Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer
rated 5 of 5

Chanel's Glossimer is some of the BEST lipgloss I have ever used. It comes in a really vast variety of shades and colors, and while its tacky enough to have shine/color, it isn't sticky or tacky like the MAC lipglass. I prefer to use it over a lip balm, so it feels even less sticky (I hate having sticky lips). I tend to like this gloss in the sparkly colors, because they go on sheer and have a ridiculous amount of sparkle (exactly what I want)! I have so many colors (at least 15), so I can't name them all. My advice is if you like a color, get it because some do get discontinued. None of these have a very long lasting color, and they are all sheer. So don't expect what you see in the tube to be what you see on your lips, and expect to reapply often. Especially if you eat or drink, these come right off! But you can expect a lot of shine, sparkle etc.! I highly recommend :)

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
rated 5 of 5

I have been using this liquid eyeliner for 15 years, and no matter what else I have tried nothing compares to this. I always come back to my Lancome Artliner. It is the absolute best. The black (noir) is very black - not like some liquid eyeliners that look more like a grey unless you layer. This looks very black. The felt tip brush is easy to use and allows you to draw thin to thick lines easily. The brush never ever starts to ruin. I use this liquid eyeliner every day, and each one lasts me about 4-5 months (which I think is pretty good). I have tried using a bunch of other liquid liners - YSL, MUFE, MAC - and nothing compares. I always end up returning them. The price isn't cheap, but for the quality of the product I am fine with it.

Powder -Cle de Peau - Powder Foundation SPF 21
rated 4 of 5

I bought this about a month ago as an impulse purchase, and it has become my absolute FAVORITE foundation. I have always preferred powder foundations, as my skin gets a bit oily and any liquid I have tried makes my skin feel oily - and I find it a bit messier/takes longer to apply. The Cle de Peau Powder Foundation is the perfect marriage between powder and liquid foundation. It's a powder, however, it seems to have a hint of cream or something in it which makes my skin look absolutely flawless and sets in really easily. I use this with the sponge that goes with it, and it applies really easily over moisturizer. Any other powder foundation I have tried I need to use it with a brush to be able to really blend it in, but not this. If you have very oily skin, I recommend this maybe only in the winter months. But with combination skin on the oilier side - this will probably be great all year round. The ONLY reason I gave this 4 vs. 5 lippies is because of the price. It is overly expensive. The powder itself is $90, and you have to buy the case - around $30 - seperatly (just a one time purchase). Still that is very expensive. I will re-purchase however, because this powder seems to last me so much longer than my GA and Dolce powder foundations - so I guess in the end the price evens out. Still I don't think they should be charging you seperate for the case - it should come with the powder! If you want a powder foundation that looks as flawless as liquid with buildable coverage, this is for you!

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

Having heard great things about this mascara I was excited to try it out. It works great - lengthens and thickens. The only problem is it dries out extremely fast. I use mascara every day and within 3-4 weeks this mascara dries out and can't be used. The price is not worth having to re-purchase every three weeks, and there are a lot of other high end mascaras that will last much much longer and work just as well, if not better (Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill and YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking are my favorites).

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5

I have oily eyelids and this is the only stuff that works to keep my eyeshadow put all day and night. It also helps the color pop. It takes a couple minutes to dry, but that's expected of any primer. I never use any eyeshadow without applying this product first. Must have, especially for those with oily eyelids and creasing problems.

Stick -Tom Ford - Traceless Foundation Stick
rated 2 of 5

I picked this up at Saks last week with high hopes. The MUA who found my perfect color match (bisque) was wearing the foundation herself and she had a perfect matte finish (which is what I always aim for). I also brought their creamy foundation brush and their primer (both excellent). The foundation stick itself was very disappointing. I have combination skin, with an oily t-zone. This stuff literally would slide off my face within 30 minutes of application. Not only that, but everyday that I used this I needed to use blotting paper every hour (usually I only need it once or twice a day). The foundation separates and left my face patchy, and oily. I even tried setting it with different powders, and nothing really helped. I took this back to Saks today and they happily gave me a full refund. If you have really dry skin this may work well for you, but anything less stay away. The primer is great though - I am using it now with my Dolce and Gabbana powder foundation and it works great.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 2 of 5

For whatever reason, this doesn't work well on my skin anymore. I used it all through high school and college, and at the time it worked great (maybe because I hadn't tried anything else yet). After college, I started experimenting with other foundations/powders, and when I came back to this a couple of years ago it was a disaster. It made my skin itch a little, I noticed how much it oxidized within a few hours (I turned orange by mid-day), and made me breakout (I am not acne prone). I wish this still worked well, because the price is reasonable and I liked that it provided full coverage without having to layer. If you are able to find the right color and don't have any skin related issues from this its a great product. Provides full coverage, reasonably priced, and it lasts a while.

Powder -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Compact Foundation
rated 4 of 5
hina1983 8/22/2012 3:55:00 PM

One of the best powder foundations I have used. My only issue is that I can't find a perfect color match. I use it in 04, which is close enough, however, its a little on the yellow side (I find the majority of their colors are a little yellow). It's almost perfect, but not quite. It goes on smooth, sinks into my skin immediately, and lasts all day. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and even in the summer this will last 6 or so hours before I need to use any blotting paper. I use this over a moisturized and primed face, and generally use it wet (kabuki brush with evian mineral water spritz). I like full coverage, and this can provide that, however, if you prefer something more sheer that can be achieved as well. Of all the powder foundations I have used this is one of the top two (neck in neck with dolce and gabbana powder foundation). The packaging is ok, not great, but not bad either. I plan to continue to purchase.

Concealers -Cle de Peau - Concealer
rated 5 of 5
hina1983 8/22/2012 3:47:00 PM

This is the absolute best concealer out there and I've tried a few (YSL, Givenchy, MAC). It only comes in a few colors, however, I was able to find a perfect match (beige). The packaging is sleek, durable, and good for travel. I use it over eye cream and primer. It goes on easy, blends well, and it never looks like I have anything on. It has a very natural/matte finish. I not only use it under my eyes, but also over any blemishes. I find its easiest to blend with my fingers as the heat will help it sink into my skin. It's pricy, however, it lasts me about a year (with daily use) so to me its worth it. I am constantly looking to try new products to find something better than what I have, however, I will never even consider using another concealer (that's how good this is)!

Powder -Dolce & Gabbana - Perfect Finish Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
hina1983 8/22/2012 3:37:00 PM

One of the best powder foundations I've used. It comes in a variety of colors, so it's easy to find a match. I use the color "soft" - as a reference I am a C2 in MAC studio fix, 04 in Giorgio Armani powder foundation, and bisque in Tom Ford's foundation stick. I find that the dolce powder foundation provides buildable coverage. I like to having full coverage with a matte foundation, and this will do that. If you want something very sheer, this will do that too. I have combination skin, and this lasts a full 5-6 hours before I need to use any blotting paper in my t-zone area. I use it with moisturizer and primer under, and find that helps it best stay put. I've used it dry, however, I find it works best when used wet. I use it with a large kobuki brush with a spritz of Evian's mineral water spray. I find it takes about 30 minutes or so to completely dissolve into my skin (vs. GA powder foundation which sinks in immediately) - but once it sinks in it looks flawless. I have and will continue to purchase this again and again!
