Palettes -Kat Von D - Ludwig Palette
rated 5 of 5

I would absolutely buy this again. The green side is okay, not anything too special on me, but nice as far as greens go. The other side, whoa! LOVE it. In fact, I love the bronze side more than any other palette I have ever used in my life & I always get compliments when I wear it. The price is worth it for that side alone. I also love the roses on the packaging and the almost light-rubbery texture of the outside of the palette. One bad thing, the black shadow crumbles easily, so be careful not to drop it! If you do, just dump the black because it will get all over EVERYTHING. Black shadow is not hard to come by, so just cut your losses on that, lol.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5

I bought this and the Naked 2 palette. After a week, the novelty has worn off and I have found myself still reaching for the bronzy side of my Kat Von D Ludwig palette. I like this and the Naked 2, but I wouldn't repurchase as I am up to my eyeballs (pun intended) in eyeshadow.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5

I'm surprised anyone could dislike this. I personally think OPI is very overrated, though, while everyone else seems to love it. I bought this in Haute Chocolate and So Much Fawn. I have received so many compliments on these colors. I can also go 5 days without chips or peeling. The only things I noted were at the end of the 5 days, there was a little wear on the tips, which I don't think is unusual. 3 thin coats works best for extra longevity. My nails seem stronger after using this for a couple weeks. The only thing I would consider is putting on a top coat to increase the gloss, but for me, using the Instant Cuticle remover and then this and filing every other week makes it so easy to upkeep my nails. I have 3 young kids and I had to give up having my nails look decent for years because I just did not have the time to make them look manicured. This has saved my hands and some of my street cred as a mom who has her stuff together. I love the "wow, you have 3 kids and your hands look so nice. What's your secret?" comments. I totally look forward to buying more colors of this. I think most of the colors on the shelf are gross, but if they come out with more colors, I will be buying nothing but this from now on. Are you listening, Sally Hansen?

Polishes -OPI - Nicole by OPI

I bought this in Sensational Scarlet. OMG, the texture is disgusting. It is STUNNING in the bottle. A wine/fuchsia color with rainbow sparkles. On, it looks gloppy and lumpy, like I stucco'd my fingernails and dipped them in glitter. Barf.

Moisturizers -RoC - Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer

I have had extremely dry skin on my face this hard winter. I've been using this during the day & dr Denese's night cream at night. The effects have been awesome. The redness in my skin and the look of haggard wrinkles forming due to dryness is gone. I look like myself again. I can see where someone who doesn't have really dry skin could have a problem with greasiness, but I have just the right amount of "Glow" with this. I am usually a Clinique Superdefense lover, but I ran out and bought the Neutrogena spf 25 stuff, and it was useless. I bought this to replace it. If you have very abused winter skin, I recommend this.

Didn't like it. I used it for about 9 months. I have more large freckles on my upper cheeks (age spots is such an ugly term) than ever, and they all showed up while I was using this stuff, which indicates to me it wasn't doing it's job.

Polishes -OPI - Bogota Blackberry
rated 5 of 5
hilli 5/27/2009 5:48:00 AM

I didn't realize this was such a popular color. I am so glad others like it as much as I do, though. This to me isn't a very blackberry color, it's like a "soft" effect red. It's not blood red and it's not vampy, and it is not "look at my red nails because I'm trying too hard to be noticed" red. It's an "I'm wearing red because I like this shade and I'm comfortable in my own skin" kind of color, which the latter attitude is very classy and elegant. It's quite cool, but I am quite warm and it looks great on me, so I can imagine it would look good on most complexions. I have been wearing this for about 10 years now and it's my favorite "go to" color. This and Malaysian Mist I always have in my nail box no matter what other colors come and go.

Bronzers -Laura Geller - Balance And Bronze Split Compact
rated 2 of 5
hilli 12/15/2008 4:01:00 PM

I'm really fair and quite neutral to slightly warm, and this is just too pink for me to try to get away with as a foundation, which is what they promoted it as on QVC. I received this with the "Kiss & Bake up" set. I debated sending it back as this provides absolutely NO coverage, but this actually works well as a contour shade on the sides of my nose and under my chin. I like it for that and am really keeping the set for the lip compact and blush. I would not buy this particular product again.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Rose
rated 2 of 5
hilli 11/23/2008 10:16:00 AM

When this first was sprayed on me I immediately thought, hmm that's nice, but within seconds the nice smell (what I assume is the "rose" part of it, even though it smelled nothing like roses), faded away to Angel, which I hate. It was like a sick joke by TM to trick me into smelling like Angel dry-down. Blech.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Lily Eau de Parfum

I got a mini set of samples of the garden Angels. This one is my favorite, but the drydown is all Angel and I HATE Angel.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Insolence

Why is it that the stinkiest perfumes are the ones with the best staying power? This stuck to me like a smashed bug on a windscreen and it's disgusting. It smells like an old lady. It's like something and old lady who has chain smoked her whole life would wear because she has hardly any sense of true smell left. My husband smelled my arm and told me like I smell like Bingo Night. True.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaSlicks in #576A Rose Gold
rated 5 of 5
hilli 11/23/2008 9:43:00 AM

I love this product. If I didn't know it was cheap old Wet N Wild, I would not be surprised to find this was a high end product. The color is kind of a bronzy coral-pink color, but if you look at the tube in the light, you can see lots of different colored shimmers inside. The coverage is perfect. Not too thin and not gloppy thick. It doesn't make you feel like your lips are glued shut and it doesn't feel like oil. It is the best "gloss" or wand lipcolor I have ever used. Very pleasant smell. I am an American living in the UK and can't find this stuff over here, so have to buy when I'm visiting. I would have my sister pick me up extra stock of this if I found out it was being discontinued and am looking forward to buying more of the MegaSlicks in different colors. This one (on me, anyway) needs to be worn with a lipliner to get the effect that I like. I wear something similar to MAC "Spice" with it, just for reference.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 3 of 5
hilli 11/1/2008 8:54:00 AM

I had to try this since it seemed a lot of perfumes I gravitate towards have Angel comparisons mentioned in reviews. I don't hate it, but there is no way I'd wear it. It shouldn't be called "Angel", It should be called "Screaming Chocolate & Patchouli" or "Pool Hall" as it's quite smokey, but the dry-down should be called "Humidor" since I felt it smelled just like a fine tobacconist's shop. It smells to masculine for women to me. Before I tried it on in a store (yesterday), I ordered a collection of the Garden collection. I tried Rose, but I will have to try again and update, but I tried the Le Lys (Lily), and it is superb. I don't note any an outright scent of Lilies, but with the touch of floral, it is really tempered on the chocolate & patchouli notes. If you hate Angel, try at least the le Lys.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Pleasures Delight
rated 5 of 5
hilli 10/26/2008 3:43:00 PM

I tried this on today and came back to spray it on again before I went home. It didn't last terribly long on me, but I absolutely LOVE this. I haven't liked a scent this much in years. I have read most of the reviews and nobody has mentioned a whiff of pink grapefruit, which I do detect on me. I love it, it smells sweet but not cloying, warm and clean. Very happy scent. I associate a lot of Estee Lauder products with "old ladies", but I am happy to wear this and yet would buy this as a first real perfume for one of my daughters when they are high-school age. I have ordered some of this on ebay and have also discovered Thierry Mugler Angel le Lys, which smells very similar. Angel smelles nothing like this to me.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Eau De Parfum
rated 2 of 5
hilli 10/16/2008 3:49:00 PM

Smells just like Loves' Baby Soft. I like it. It smells nice and girly and not trampy at all. Great as an everyday scent for spring. ETA; OK, this scent pisses me off. It lasts about 5 minutes, if you're lucky. Seriously, the staying power of this is worse than most Avon scents. Absolutely useless & the price for what you end up having is extortionate.
