Pressed Powders -Revlon - ColorStay Pressed Powder in Translucent
hikari001 11/27/2012 6:57:00 PM
This is a really good setting powder. I use this everyday of the week before work and set it on top of my BB cream with a brush and it leaves my skin matte for much longer. It's translucent and doesn't clog my pores. I work for 8.5 hours/day and I just have to touch up by mid day and it will last til the end of my workday. One minor cons I have against this is the packaging. I don't mind the bulky packaging and I do use the the thin puff they provided for touch ups, but I wish they have a full mirror instead of a half one. I know its so people can see the colors but I find the mirror useless since its so small and the transparent plastic part is so tacky that it feels like it could crack anytime. I expect a bit more from Revlon.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete UV Protection Moisture Lotion Combinaton/Oily Skin SPF15
hikari001 11/27/2012 6:21:00 PM
I've been using this product for the past 2 years so it should be safe for me to write a review for it now. It's been my go to moisturizer because its made for oily/combo skin and it also has an added sunscreen of SPF 15. I love it, truly love this moisturizer hence why I've been using it for so long. Pros: - Leaves a matte finish on my skin - Dries quickly - Moisturizes my dry skin nicely but doesn't make the oily part too oily - SPF 15 - I used it once a day and one bottle would last me for 4-5 months - Doesn't break me out Cons: - The bottle is just horrible, especially for traveling. The lotion just bursts everywhere without it being squirted Sadly, it stopped working for me entirely. I don't know if its because of the new formula or there's a change in my skin but instead of a matte finish, it leaves it oily and it doesn't moisturize my dry skin anymore. The oily parts just gets oilier. In short it just doesn't work for me anymore. I took this as a cue to change my daily moisturizer but I'm just so sad cause its been working really great for me.

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++
hikari001 11/5/2012 5:30:00 AM
Second BB cream I've tried and so far so good. Doesn't break me out and #23 matches my NC20-25 skin tone nicely. Just like other reviewers have mentioned,it leaves a grey cast upon application but oxidizes after a few minutes to match my skin tone. It's very easy to blend because of its runny texture and so it doesn't accentuate my dry skins. It feels lightweight too on my skin. I bought into the BB cream hype so that I could skip all those steps of putting a moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation. This Missha Signature BB cream certainly made that possible. The only cons I have against this is its oil control. I get oily very quickly and this probably delay it for an hour or so. In 8.5 hours of work, I have to blot about 4 times a day and usually by the 7th hour, the BB cream has started to melt even tho I stay in the office all day. I will buy again but this will not stop me from venturing to other bb creams.

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner
hikari001 9/13/2012 7:54:00 AM
This product just didn't work for me full stop. I bought both the matching shampoo and conditioner to replace my Pantene one which has been giving me some trouble. I have a long wavy hair that's thick, dry and coarse since I straighten it about 3-4 times a week. I was searching for something more hydrating and came across this shampoo and conditioner. I read a lot of good reviews about this Herbal Essences line for dry hair so I decided to try it. I really like the packaging and it smells really nice and sweet. It did hydrate my hair, but after a few weeks of using it, it started to give me dandruff and made my scalp itch like crazy. I notice that there's some kind of buildup on my hair and it gets really oily. Yes I was searching for something to replenish my hair with much needed moisture but not so much as to make it an oil refinery. Will not repurchase.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products
hikari001 9/13/2012 12:36:00 AM
I bought this product because of its claim in improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. I have a stretch mark that goes along the entire length of my thigh and its been there ever since I could remember. I tried using Bio oil for a few months to no avail. It reduces nothing, doesn't fade the stretch marks even a tiny bit. I knew the claim was too good to be true. And then I had chicken pox, and boy I was glad that I still have some of this stuff left in my drawer. For those of you who had chicken pox, you know how it could leave such bad and humungous scarring on your face and whole body. This oil is a miracle when used on fresh scars and mine disappeared completely after using it faithfully twice a day for a week or so. So if you are looking to heal recent scars and stretch marks then I really recommend that you try using this, but if you want to heal things that's been on your skin for ages then I suggest that you look elsewhere.

Conditioner -Pantene - Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner
hikari001 9/12/2012 7:44:00 AM
I have used this shampoo and conditioner on and off for the past few years and have never experienced any problem until recently. Did they change the formula or something? Anyways, I have a really full and thick hair, so much so that I always tell my hairdresser to give it layers so it will thin my hair out. However, during the past few months, I started to notice that my hair has fallen a lot more than usual and it has also gotten quite thin and feels a lot lighter. My scalp would get very very itchy and get lots of dandruff, and I couldn't figure out why. Then I started researching about Pantene and found a lot of similar cases, therefore I decided to try and move on to another shampoo and conditioner and all those problem stopped immediately after the switch. Will never go back to using Pantene.

Liquid -Gorgeous Cosmetics - Sheer Brilliance Liquid Foundation
hikari001 9/11/2012 10:34:00 PM
I got a sample of this foundation from the counter girl and it just didn't work for me. I have combination/oily skin with dry patches around my T-zone. Even though I wasn't color matched to it, this foundation sample blended in nicely with my yellow undertone skin-tone and I like how it feels lightweight on my skin unlike other foundations. The major flaw with this foundation is that it doesn't have any staying power and did nothing to control the oiliness on my face. I usually became oily in just 1-2 hours and this made me oily in about the same time. I admit I didn't use a primer underneath but my Revlon Colorstay could mattify my face for 5-6 hours with no primer. It might work for people with normal and dry skin but I definitely wouldn't recommend this for people with oily skin.

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey
hikari001 9/11/2012 9:53:00 PM
I really want to love this perfume because of its fresh and elegant smelling scent. I know that scent is a very subjective thing and I tend to lean towards that sharp floral scent and this perfume has it all. This could have been my HG perfume but it has a major flaw, it's way too strong, even the EDT was too strong for me. I really like the scent but it made me feel dizzy after a while. Although the good thing is, because its so strong, it stays on for ages. It can stays on my clothes for days until I washed it. This perfume can work on some people but sadly its not for me.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
hikari001 9/11/2012 9:28:00 PM
I was using Revlon compact powder and decided to move into using liquid foundation for better coverage. I chose this one because it's within my price range and got a lot of good reviews for combination/oily skin. For starters, my skin is, of course, combination/oily with bits of dry patches around my T-zone. I got this matched to my skin color in 180 Sand Beige. This matched my skin color much better than Bobbi Brown, which I was matched to 3.5 Warm Beige. I have a yellow undertone and the Bobbi Brown, whilst it looks natural when wearing it outside with natural light, really emphasize my yellowy-ness when wearing it inside with artificial lighting. The Revlon Sand Beige has a tad of grey tinge to it which neutralizes my skin an it looks really good in both natural and artificial lighting. Pros: - Medium to full coverage. It covers my blemishes, acne scars, redness really well - Stays on the whole time I used it. Longest I wore it was for about 12 hours and it really stays on for that long. - Didn't break me out - Mattify my skin so it looks nice and fresh - Really good oil control. My face usually gets oily after 1-2 hours and this controls it to 5-6 hours. Cons: - Main reason I'm taking 1 lippy off: No pump!!! Therefore can get really messy if you're not careful - Feels heavy when you put it on - If you layer it too much can get cakey - Makes sure you moisturize really well underneath, otherwise it can emphasize your dry patches Overall, its a really good foundation and I feel the cons are small in comparison to the result and finish effect. I would definitely repurchase in the future.

BB Cream -Skinfood - Peach Sake Pore BB Cream SPF20 PA+ (Shade 02)
hikari001 9/11/2012 7:49:00 PM
This was my first bb cream and after trying it out, I'm so glad that I bought into the hype. I decided on this one because I have oily/combination skin with dry patches on my T-zone, and the peach sake line claims to be good at oil control and minimizing pores. I also bought the toner and serum for added effect. Pros: - Oxidizes to match my skin-tone with yellow undertone really well. My color is NC 20-25 - Covers up my blemishes, acne scars and redness well enough that my skin still looks natural - Lightweight so it doesn't feel like a second skin unlike foundation - Nice packaging with tube that's easy to travel with - Has SPF Cons: - Broke me out!!! - Emphasizes my dry patches and I noticed after wearing it for a few weeks, my skin becomes drier - Coverage may be too light if you are looking for a full coverage - Oil control is so-so, I usually get oily after 1-2 hours and this controls it to about 4-5 hours.

Treatments -Skinfood - Peach Sake Pore Serum
hikari001 9/11/2012 7:24:00 PM
I bought the toner, BB cream, and serum from the Peach Sake line. This is my first time trying, let alone buying a serum so I can't compare it with any other serums out there, but this I just love how this serum made my skin feels that I just have to write a review for it. I was totally excited about getting my first BB cream and only bought the serum and toner just for the sake of it. When it arrived, I tried all the products straightaway and the one that showed a major change to my skin was this serum. For starters, my skin is oily/combination with dry patches on my T-zone. It can be very oily when I'm not using anything so my pores are quite large and I heard this peach sake range are suppose to minimize your pores and have good oil control. This serum really did all that, I realize straightaway that my pores were smaller than usual. It's still visible but it has shrunk in size. It also controls the oil really well. Usually my face gets oily 1-2 hours after cleansing but with this serum, it only gets oily after 4-5 hours. Another thing that I notice is, it made my skin feel so so soft unlike never before. I was so surprised that my skin can be that soft. Will definitely repurchase.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Eau De Parfum
hikari001 9/11/2012 7:03:00 PM
To start with, I like to use just one perfume for every occasion so it becomes my trademark, and my type would be a fresh smelling perfume because I can't stand sweet ones. I haven't been able to find the right one for years even tho I've tried hundreds, literally hundreds of perfumes. L'eau D'issey by Issey Miyake came close to becoming my favorite but the smell was too strong for my liking. One day after work, my co-worker told me about this Marc Jacobs perfume that she really like but couldn't get her hands on because it's kinda rare. When I tried it the first time, I knew it was 'the one' straightaway. The scent was just so fresh and elegant and it has that sharp floral smell that I love. It was just the right concentration so wasn't too strong or too light. After so many years, this perfume ends my search for my HG perfume.
