Treatments -Nude Skincare - ProGenius Treatment oil
hellbreaker 2/17/2013 12:08:00 AM
I got a sample and was really hoping I'd hate it given the ludicrous price—$78 for one ounce—but unfortunately for my wallet I loved it. I have a lot of redness in my face: constant flushing in my cheeks and broken capillaries and flakes all around my nose. There are very few products I can use on my skin without causing irritation, but while a lot of the "soothing" products I've tried for my skin haven't made it any worse, I hardly ever see any improvement. With this product there is a noticeable improvement in my skin after using it. I wash my face at night with a mild cleanser and pat my face mostly dry (it should be a little damp so that the product can spread better). I then apply one drop of the Nude oil to my face, applying it to my cheeks first and then spreading it to my forehead, nose, and chin. It absorbs within a minute. When I wake up in the morning there is about a 50% reduction in redness in my cheeks, and the flaky skin on my nose is gone (if only there was a topical product for broken capillaries). Furthermore, this hasn't broken me out in the slightest, in fact there has been a slight reduction in blackheads on my nose. Overall this is a really solid product for me and definitely something I will repurchase. Hopefully, because so little product is needed the 1 ounce will last a long time!

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++
hellbreaker 10/22/2012 1:17:00 AM
This really is one of the best BB creams I've tried (the other being MISSHA Perfect Cover). I am on my second tube of Signature Real, this time using no. 13 instead of no. 21, and it is a really amazing product. It is less viscous than Perfect Cover, and much less heavy. For some Signature Real does not provide as much coverage, but I find that it covers my mild rosacea and under-eye darkness very well without needing to use concealer. For me, coverage is comparable to Perfect Cover. If you use sunscreen in addition to a BB cream as I do, I think this is a much better option than some of the other heavier BB creams. I apply this on top of my vitamin C serum and Shiseido waterproof sunscreen, set with some powder, and it lasts the whole day with no retouching. Color selection is wonderful. I have been using no. 21 when I have a bit of a tan, no. 13 when I am especially pale, and a blend of the two when necessary.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Renpure Ren Rosemary Mint Cleansing Conditioner
hellbreaker 10/22/2012 1:08:00 AM
I picked this up after trying several other cleansing conditioners (first Wen and then L'Oreal Everpure). Wen is absolutely my favorite, but at $30 for 8 ounces, its pretty unreasonable to use on my long, thick hair (it would take about 1/8 of the bottle to get it to completely clean my hair). Overall I think this is a pretty decent product for what you pay for ($10 for 16 ounces, I still use the same amount as Wen, but it is significantly cheaper per use). However, it DOES NOT REMOVE PRODUCT BUILDUP OR OIL. Therefore I only recommend this if you have drier hair and don't use styling product. If you're trying to cut back on shampooing this is an excellent transitional product. Since using it (about 2 weeks) the texture of my hair has improved tremendously. I no longer have any fly-aways, wispies, or frizz. My hair looks gorgeous air-dried. It smells fantastic and certainly leaves my scalp feeling clean, moisturized, and slightly tingly. I will definitely repurchase since the price is too great to pass up!

Lips -Cover Girl - Outlast Lipstain
hellbreaker 3/5/2011 8:04:00 PM
I am honestly quite surprised at all the negative reviews for this product as it works really well for me! I have the "Teasing Blush" color (I am very fair and this color is several shades darker than my natural lip color) and as far as day-to-day wear is concerned it has become a must for me since purchasing about a month ago. The felt-tip pen applicator makes it super easy to apply (and applying lip stains evenly is no easy feat) and I think this method is preferable because it allows for a lot more control. I have a go-to method when applying this that works really well for me: I line my lips with the pen like I would with a lip liner which creates an amazing shape, and then fill in the rest of my lip with the pen angled slightly so that I'm using more of the side of the pen. I then finish up with a lip balm (absolutely no sense in applying lip balm before application, the protective waxes in the balm will not allow for any color to stain the lip). In regards to other reviewers concerns, is this product drying? Well, yeah (all lip-stains are, they're designed to last), but no more so than going all day without lip-balm. Since I use lip-balm every day anyway, this is a non-issue for me!

Lips -DuWop - Lip Venom V - Twilight Venom
hellbreaker 3/5/2011 7:54:00 PM
I really wanted to love this stuff! I am a huge fan of the idea of lip stains as reapplying lipstick during the day to the perfection I so desire isn't really possible with my hectic school schedule. The color of the Twilight Venom is fantastic, a super deep and sexy red. However, the application process is an enormous pain! Even after shaking the tube really well before use (at least a whole minute) the stain and the plumping liquid didn't really blend together upon application; basically it felt like trying to blend food dye and oil over my lips... not super conducive to an evenly-stained lip. The only solution to this I found was to spread with my fingers, which resulted in a way better (and super hot, might I add) and more even lip. But, you know, then one fingertip would be stained bright red and thats not really a look I'm going for. As much as it is a pain to use, I will keep using this stuff until the tube is gone (I mean, it looks really good) but I honestly can't justify using it more than once a week when I loathe applying it.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 - Light [DISCONTINUED]
hellbreaker 3/5/2011 7:40:00 PM
Okay, admittedly this is my second time buying this tinted moisturizer; the first time I had to return it because every time I used it one pimple would pop up. However, the coverage is so fantastic for a tm (definitely more of a foundation-like coverage and a little goes a long way) that I decided to give it another go, and I'm happy to say that this time around no break outs for me! I have incredibly sensitive, pretty dry skin so this is a perfect match. It doesn't accentuate dry patches and makes my skin look perfect and dewey! I don't actually moisturize before I put this on and I'm not sure I would recommend it. The Kiehl's tm is pretty thick and heavy so wearing any moisturizer under it might make it too heavy. I was a little concerned when I first bought it that the shade wouldn't be light enough. I have super fair skin, but the lighter shade (fair) I can use with my natural skin tone and when I have a little bit of a tan, also it blends really well! The smell isn't the best (kind of like Elmer's glue), but it disappears after a few minutes, and honestly I'd rather be using a product that works fantastically and smells a bit gluey than something that smells fantastic but doesn't work well. I haven't had any problems with this tm oxidizing and turning orange at all! Overall exceptionally happy to have found this and will definitely keep using it!

Powder -Alima - Satin Matte Mineral Foundation
hellbreaker 4/1/2010 10:42:00 PM
So this is hands-down my HG mineral foundation! PROS: -Incredibly wide selection of shades to select (60 in fact). I'm pretty sure that it impossible for them to NOT have your shade. But, just in case, for $2 they will custom blend a shade just for you. If you're still unsure, you can order samples for $1 a piece. -FOUR ingredients. This is great if you have sensitivities to ingredients other mineral makeup uses. No bismuth-oxychloride! -Buildable coverage. You can apply this sparingly and get a fresh complexion, but you can also build it up for fuller coverage. CONS: -Well, I haven't found any yet :)

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Dermacia - Lycogel [DISCONTINUED]
hellbreaker 4/1/2010 10:32:00 PM
PROS: -This stuff feels amazing on my skin! It is incredibly light and doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup. -Superb, natural coverage. It doesn't look like I'm wearing foundation, just healthy skin. -A little goes a long way! I normally just use one pump of the stuff. -SPF that protects both UVA and UVB -Extremely gentle. I used this while undergoing laser therapy and it helped keep my skin feeling cool and protected while it healed. CONS: -Expensive :( I paid $45 for it on sale. -Hard to find. It seems that the product I purchased has since been discontinued, which is unfortunate, because this is an AMAZING liquid foundation.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter
hellbreaker 2/3/2010 9:22:00 PM
I love love love love Korres lip butter! I use it every day without fail (either in Pomegranate or Wild Rose). I have super dry lips and this is perfectly moisturizing with a hint of gloss and color- it just looks really pretty and natural. I'm pretty picky about what I put on my mouth considering how much of it actually ends up IN my mouth, but Korres lip butters are pretty much all natural. Not 100%, but enough so that I feel safe putting it on my lips regularly. The container is the only thing I don't absolutely love. It seems a bit unhygienic to be dipping your finger in there and then putting it on your mouth. Not a huge reason for me not to re-purchase because I'm in the habit of only touching my face after washing my hands, but it can be really frustrating when you're on the go. If Korres ever re-packaged this into a tube I think I would cry tears of joy and never buy another lip product again!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
hellbreaker 2/3/2010 9:15:00 PM
I first wanted to try this out after I heard it was a staple in Dita Von Teese's makeup bag. I am super pale so I have a really hard time finding foundations that match my skin tone. This is hands down my favorite drugstore foundation. It has a creamy, heavier texture, but it blends really well. I have a problem applying this in one layer that gives me flawless coverage, so I do two thin layers and my skin looks near perfect, sans concealer. I also found that applying it this way doesn't feel as makeup-y. The range of shades is incredible! I've so far used two bottles of C1 (for the winter when I'm paler), and N1 (for the summer when I'm ever so slightly tanner). One star off for the annoying packaging. I hate the screw-top bottle- it makes the amount of foundation used really hard to control.

Eyeliner -MAC - Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Stubborn Brown
hellbreaker 1/26/2010 11:09:00 PM
This is the greatest eyeliner ever, and is most definitely my HG of ALL eyeliners! -It has a really creamy formulation, and glides on easily without tugging on the delicate skin around the eye. -It blends well. -Its very pigmented, a little goes a long way! One pencil on average takes me 8-10 months to use up. -Its long-lasting, I put it on in the morning and it lasts all day without retouching. -It looks very natural. I have incredibly fair skin and pretty much every eyeliner I wear looks really harsh and noticeable on me; this one just makes my lash line look naturally thick.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Auto Waterproof Eye Definer (all)
hellbreaker 1/23/2010 4:16:00 AM
I've been searching for a good drugstore eyeliner for a while, and I really like Rimmel makeup. I tried this because I was looking for a waterproof eyeliner to replace my Chanel for everyday use. I really liked it at first- it is super creamy and goes on amazingly well. However a couple of hours later it had all pretty much migrated from my upper lash line to my lower water line.

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel
hellbreaker 1/23/2010 4:13:00 AM
Okay I am on my fourth or fifth tube of this stuff and I am absolutely in love with it! Yes, it is pretty pricey, but it does not clump whatsoever. My natural lashes are fairly long but not very thick, but Inimitable makes it look like I'm wearing false lashes. I guess other reviewers say it doesn't add much volume, but I don't experience that at all. I've tried several different ways of applying it but the best application method I've found is to tilt my head back and apply it from the base of my lashes to the tip, wiggling it ever so slightly back and forth. While the mascara is still damp I go over it a second time. People compliment me all the time now how long my lashes are!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Explosion
hellbreaker 12/16/2009 12:10:00 AM
I really wanted to love this mascara, as not wanting to shell out the bucks for Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes mascara; however, I was a bit disappointed by the brush, it held a lot of mascara- it was nearly impossible to apply the mascara cleanly without clumping. I think it might have more to do with the fact that the tube wasn't very well designed. When I wipe the brush and area below the brush with a tissue before applying I get much better results. It really does coat every lash- and really reaches the corner lashes like regular mascara brushes can't.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
hellbreaker 12/18/2008 3:52:00 AM
I really wanted to like this foundation because I have heard such great things about the coverage and great things about Laura Mercier in general. Sadly, my problems started with the fact that the formula had completely, and I mean completely separated. When I finally blended it out on the back of my hand, it smelled awful! Suffice to say, it was not any more pleasant closer to my face. Not only was the smell awful but it irritated my skin like crazy! I will definitely be staying away from this!
