Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion
helethea 6/15/2013 5:09:00 AM
I stay in humid and warm singapore. Whilst this product does a good job of moisturising my sensitive (itchy) and dry skin, i feel sticky with in. I have compliments how my legs are smooth when i wash them off the next day but its impossible to sleep with this in this climate. Only applying to calf and feet now. Also looking for something lightweight but does the moisturising job well.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Time Zone Line and Wrinkle Reducing Creme SPF 15
helethea 9/25/2012 1:01:00 AM
Ive used both the combi and dry skin range and my vote goes to the dry skin creme. To begin with I have combi skin with oily T-zone and blackheads. I use a drugstore toner from Japan, then pat with SKII Miracle water and finally moisturize with this creme for dry skin. It left my skin smooth and flawless without any of my red capillary lines looking angry. I wake up everyday with skin refreshed and calm too. I noticed skin seems to get younger and better too. Its beautiful. :)

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
helethea 5/3/2012 1:39:00 AM
Im a NC20 and have red lines, open pores and a few occassional zits. Been using this for a while now and its finishing soon. Whilst it doesnt completely cover the pores nor the zits, it does pretty well with the red capillary lines with two coats. I would pour the content onto my palm (just a pea-sized amount would do) and mix it with my fingers before gently patting it on my face. I use a BB cream base before this foundation and te result is a naturel air-brushed, radiant and dewy texture. Most people didnt think i had makeup on. It stays all day long even under hot sun. I dont sweat much to begin with. But i require some blotting touch up to take away some of the shine that accumulates over the day. The color remains true when i depot into a smaller container for my diving trips too although the makeup probably didnt stay in place after the dives. I wish it comes in a pump which would be so much more cleaner. Some of the highly raved liquid foundations i have tried: Gio Armani, Lauriar Mercier, RMK, Chanel and this is the best Ive came across.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
helethea 5/3/2012 12:59:00 AM
I was introduced to this at the counter and was told i had to use it together with the creamy concealer. My initial thought is why would the product be so inefficient that i had to spend money on two types of concealors? That didnt make sense and thus I first began only with the corrector in Bisque.
Im a NC20 but my undereyes areas have been red-purplish for the longest time since childhood. None of the eye creams i used have helped unless i do masking. Hence the reliance on a concealor. Despite the hype, awards etc, Bisque did lighten my undereyes area a fair bit but i still looked drained. So i went out and bought creamy concealor in Beige.
Bisque is reddish while Beige is yellowish. I suppose Im not matched correctly because i could still see my circles. But the real horror is when the combi creases on me and this is despite already topping off with loose powder and using a rich eye cream and eye sunscreen underneath. Its embarrasing when my guy friends pointed out that I have lines under my eyes.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Moisture Lotion
helethea 3/12/2012 3:05:00 AM
Im using Hadalabo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion After cleansing, i apply SKII and dab this on. And thats it, all the moisture I've gotten surpases other expensive European/American creams Ive used before. Another even greater result is soaking Albion Essential Skin Conditioner with cotton pads and putting them on my face like a facial mask. I merely leave it for as long as I like. A night time procedure since it takes more time. After that, just dab on the Hadalabo lotion. The result: Face is so moisturised and calm, gleaming with a bright radiance glow from within. Absolutely love it.

Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
helethea 3/5/2012 12:08:00 AM
I bought this based on reviews here and it was a good one for me too. I have dandruff since 12. Been using heads and shoulders for a start but discovered it left my scalp much more itchy than before. Have also tried selsun but alas this is very drying. In between I tried non dandruff shampoos and discovered my problem can't be solved although they left my hair soft and manageable. With this, I was surprised to learn it isn't as drying. Ive tried to wash my hair with this and without using any conditioner thereafter. The product left my ends tangled and dry. Impossible to comb through my fingers. So a good Conditioner is important. But What's more important it left my scalp clean without itchiness nor any flakes. I'm finishing the biggest bottle soon and will be replacing it. I wonder though if I stop, what would happen? Ps I hope it comes with a pump!

Masks -My Beauty Diary - Natto Mask
helethea 3/1/2012 10:53:00 PM
I tried a few flavours (Black Pearl, White Pearl, Red Wine, Mixed Berry) from My Beauty Diary (我的美丽日记) and I must say this is the best so far. After cleansing, I dab my regular SKII essence and I left the mask on until it felt dry on my face. That said, its still enough for the neck plus there is so much essence left in the packaging I use it on my legs, hands and back as well. The next morning, i woke up with wonderful complexion like i had my makeup on and even better. All my red capillaries seem to have diminished and skin looks so calm, even textured and no visible pores. Quite a miracle for just a night of application. Ive heard that the masks from this line must be used regulary and as with all beauty products sure i will. Beats buying expensive serums and moisturisers in tiny bottles and those SKII masks. Next ill like to try is the Japanese Cherry Blosom mask which i heard was good as well. I bought mine from Taiwan where it retails for 418NT/box/10 pcs from Cosmed in Kao Shing. In Bonjour Hongkong, the same box would cost around SGD9. Strangely cheaper than from TW.

Conditioner -Shiseido - Tsubaki Conditioner
helethea 3/1/2012 10:04:00 PM
My hair condition is dry and frizzy. There were previous perming/straightening occassions when the salon handled my hair brutally and left me with damaged broken strands and dry spilt ends. Ive yet to chop them off plus I do regular dyeing as well to cover the greys. All along I use Keratase Masque for thick and coarse hair to repair the damages and it really worked very well. I am still using it but since its more expensive, I thought ill just stick to a weekly affair instead of using it as a conditioner everyday. I use a drandruff shampoo from Matrix line and it leaves my hair slightly dry too. Although to be fair, it works wonder keeping dandruff away and in terms of dryness, its alot less harsh than many of the other lines ive tried. Back to the conditioiner, first time using this brand in the white bottle. My first impression reminds me of basking in a grapefruit and some sort of floral mix garden. The scent is heavenly and i love it. After it drys naturally (I seldom blow dry), my hair is wonderfully soft and very manageable. I dont have to use a comb to tidy it! The ends are looking healthy and well behaved too. I think it leaves a soft glow as well. All in all, thanks for the recommendations here. I love my new adventure. As for the price, I got it at Watsons Singapore and they had a 15% discount. Without this, I believe it retails for around SGD19. Still cheaper than the Keratase and in such a big pump bottle.

Bath Treatments -Aveeno - Stress Relief Foaming Bath
helethea 2/28/2012 12:11:00 AM
This is my second bottle and I have a third bottle in the storage. Bought a couple more since it's not available in Singapore. I first bought it due to good reviews on drugstore and am happy to take heed of the satisfied comments. What I like most about this product is the moisturizing effect. It leaves my skin smooth and soft. Plus the scent is endearing and calming. I almost look forward to each bath just because of the scent. On my second bottle however, my upper arm started to peel again. I've always had this since young and it only stopped after using Loccitane shower oil. Of course this is expensive to maintain and I thought Aveeno was a good switch until the second bottle. Is it because the skin has accustomed and thereby got "lazy"? Anyways I have to follow up with the pink bottle moisturizer from Aveeno as well to tame the flakiness. As for my legs, the moistuiser left a soft nice sheen, like skin has drank enough water and its glowing from within. It has been a good combi.

Treatments -SKII - Facial Treatment Essence
helethea 2/10/2012 2:39:00 AM
I have mixed reviews about this product. When i first tried this, i was in my early twenties and i supposed it was too rich and my face broke out with tiny red bumps. Now that im in my early thirties and my skin is alot drier, it helps to keep it moisturised. Whilst ive seen many of my friends using this and indeed their skin became amazingly smooth and clear like that of a peeled boiled egg, I'm already on my third bottle and i still dont have any of those results. Am i using it the wrong way?

Treatments -SKII - Cellumination Essence

I tried a sample before buying and tried a full bottle applying twice daily after cleansing/toning routine. Its supposed to bring out radiance and makes your face appears brighter and clearer. I dont see any of these results.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
helethea 2/9/2012 11:27:00 AM
Tried a sample and they didnt have my color. So much for being a true match. Its still alright since im trying for sensitivity. Its too heavy however as if putting on a mask. After one try, i stopped and threw away the sample.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Eye Treatment
helethea 2/9/2012 11:17:00 AM
I tried this due to good reviews but there wasnt any apparant results to boast about. I have dark eye circles and dry fine lines . None seems to improve after a bottle. Although it is hygenic in the form of a pump bottle, i cant help but feel there will at least be a few more applications that are left inside the wall of the bottle where the pump cant reach. Eye creams are not cheap!

Treatments -Dermalogica - Gentle Cream Exfoliant
helethea 2/9/2012 11:08:00 AM
ive used about 4 tubes of this. There was a few times where i stopped due to the price but found myself coming back again. The consistency is fairly thick and feels like clay. I usually use liberally and leave for more than an hour. This i found works most effective as my pores shrink and face is brightened. After that, i follow with the deep cleanse pink mask from borghese. I have sensitive thin skin and beads etc would flare my face red. Using only fruit enzymes, this product shreds off all my dead skin with a gentler approach. Other than the price, its an all winner for me.
