Liquid -Boots - Botanics Complexion Refining Foundation

Well it smells nice and the colour match was wonderful for me. HOWEVER it was very difficult to apply smoothly and it did not wear well. So disappointing! I bought it on clearance at Target but it was still $8.98 plus sales tax.
I love this stuff! It lasts wonderfully well and you get a little time to blend it before it sets. I also use a brush to lightly line under my eye and that stays put all day. I use it most days on my eyelid and eye crease and under the eye. The color is very flat by itself - I always top it with the silvery-taupe color from Wet n Wild's "Silent Treatment" trio and that gives a pretty shimmery effect over the grey/taupe that lasts very well.
Love this eyeshadow! It is the perfect slightly shimmery taupe for me. I love to layer it over Maybelline's "Tough as Taupe" which is matte and long-lasting. Nutty adds a lovely shimmer and lightness and together they last all day. The only downside is how difficult it is to find now - most drugstores don't seem to have any of the Wet 'n Wild singles anymore. I would like it to be a bit less powdery but for the price it is wonderful.
Before I had children and my husband became a graduate student I only used expensive make-up and was especially fond of Nars. I have not bought any Nars make-up for at least five years now because it is completely out of my price range. Nars Orgasm was my favourite blush and I have to say that this blush is an incredibly close match. I actually think it is a bit prettier! I love the sheen it has which makes it almost a highlighter for me. I often apply a small bit over a matte blush like ELF's "Pink Passion". The drawback for me is the ugly compact and useless brush but for the price I am not going to take off a star. I AM going to take a star off for the hideous perfume. It does smell awful in an overpowering old-fashioned sort of way. However, I don't find that the perfume lingers.
Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty - Herbal Cream Cleanser

This is the best cleanser I have used for a very long time. I love the smell and the fact that it gently and thoroughly cleans and removes my make-up. It also removes my eye make-up unless I am wearing quite a lot in which case I do use eye make-up remover first. It lasts a really long time and I think it is good value for money.
I love this! The highlight colour is really useful for both the browbone and the inner corners of my eyes. The middle colour is perfect for my brows, sometimes mixed with the darker colour. Also, I love using the darker colour wet as an eyeliner. It lasts all day and is the perfect soft brown - not too dark. The tools are not very useful as they are too small but for the price who cares?!
Liquid -Boots - Lifting & Firming Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]

I was very disappointed with this foundation. I loved the shade "nude" on me (very yellow-based). The packaging is really lovely. I also loved the way it applied and looked at first, but unfortunately it just did not last like that. After 2-3 hours it was breaking up around my nose and mouth and just not looking good. I thought I had found my perfect foundation! Oh well, the search continues.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells

These are really pretty colours. They apply smoothly and blend well and also last well. The only criticism is that I wish it was a little less shimmery - if I wear all three at once during the daytime I find it too "frosty" I suppose. I often use the matt and softer Stila "Eden" in the crease instead of the shimmery brown crease shade. But for the price this trio is fabulous.
Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Powder Pink

I am so in love with this stuff. I have been using it most days for the last 6 months and have only made a little hollow in the middle. I put it on after foundation and before powdering. On days where I want to look fresh and natural I use it on my lips too and it is very pretty. I didn't use it on my lips until I saw makeup artist Lisa Eldridge (she is on You Tube) use it for an everyday makeup look and really liked the effect.
Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

I am really enjoying this foundation. As others have mentioned, this is what I always felt Revlon Colorstay should be but never was. This stuff lasts very well indeed. You definitely know you are wearing foundation (it's not magic!) but considering the coverage and lasting power it is not that heavy. I chose the color "Ivory" even though it looked too dark in the tube and it is actually perfect. It does not make me break out more than normal (my skin has a tendency to break out). EDITED: I think I wrote this review too quickly - I realised after using it for a little while that it was actually highlighting my large pores and just felt too thick on my skin. I prefer Almay TLC for a longwearing drugstore foundation.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover

This stuff makes my eyes burn. It is also very heavily fragranced which I was not expecting and do not like. I was not expecting it to be fragrance free but the scent is too too much. I will finish the bottle as it is not totally horrible but I won't buy it again. It does remove makeup well including the Rimmel 25-hour long-lasting foundation.
Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Mechanical Eyelash Curler

Yet again I have bought something super-cheap and then been disappointed - what was I expecting I ask myself? I had been using this with pretty good results for about ten days when the handle snapped apart this morning when I squeezed it closed on my right eyelashes. It is not repairable. How annoying! I will spend a bit more on the next eyelash curler and hope for it to last longer!
Well, I thought this looked like a great brush at a great price. However, I bought it at Target today for $3 and it fell apart straight out of the package when I got it home. The handle is also crooked if I put it back together. Also, there is a small section of bristles that seem to be "mushed" and a bit stiff. How disappointing! I will have to return it which is annoyingly time-consuming.
Well, this is a lovely colour that I thought would be too pale and peachy for me - I took a risk on it and it actually looks really nice on my light skin. It looks simple and polished and the texture is lovely. I can't give it 5 stars because the packaging is so terrible - the lipstick sticks out of the tube and I keep knocking it with the lid which is a bit messy. Why can't they make it twist down into the tube?? Still, I would buy it again despite this.
Tinted Moisturizer -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer - Buff
heatherbelleday 11/11/2011 10:01:00 PM
I really wanted to like this tinted moisturiser. The price is great and I do find it easy to apply. The coverage is exactly right for me - it is almost a lightweight foundation. It does not appear to break me out. But it is not a keeper for me because even though I set it with loose powder it does not wear well. In a couple of hours my face is very shiny and the coverage seems to break up a bit. So disappointing! As far as cheaper tinted moisturisers go I prefer the Sonia Kashuk for Target (although it is more than double the price of the WnW).
