Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

I hate this foundation. I bought it based off reviews. For the record I like Revlon but I absolutely hated the Photoready foundation too. Like wayyy too thick! Maybe it's because I have acne prome combination skin but this broke me out HORRIBLE! Like no foundation has ever done before. The manager at my local Ulta said the same thing happened to her using Colorstay. Plus it's so cakey it does NOT look natural. I love wearing makeup and I love to wear a lot of it, by no means do I want to look like I'm not wearing makeup, but for God's sake I want my foundation to be EVEN and smooth. This stuff dries in patches and leaves a sticky, ruddy finish. Also I am more yellow toned while these are more pink. Will not repurchase

Treatments -Clearasil - Clearasil Ultra Acne Solution System
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 5/9/2012 7:32:00 PM

Finally, someone's got it right! 100% better than Proactiv, I guarantee this! I have used every product Proactiv has ever made because I had an account with them for YEARS and they would send me stuff MONTHLY. Because I am a skin-care junkie, I've tried all of their new/improved/green tea propaganda. None of it is worth the ridiculous expenses for glowing skin. Their basic kit has the regimen entirely wrong, starting with the first step. Cleansers with benzoyl peroxide medication as the first step is not how you achieve perfect skin. Clearasil KNOWS this which is why their first step cleanser uses the AHA exfoliant, salicylic acid, and the right amount of it (2%) as the medication ingredient. Benzoyl peroxide should be your last step. Clearasil's kit is dead on with the right amount of medication - and the order it should be applied. That being said, as long as you use the same medicine this kit uses, in the same order, with essentially the same doses, you can use ANY cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and "vanishing" cream you like. I personally prefer gel to cream cleansers. So I alternate my own with the one included in the kit. It's a perfect regimen for oily, acne-prone skin if you follow it daily. It definitely improves my skin 75% overnight, clear within 3 days. Never, EVER fails!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Biotin (All brands)
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 11/23/2011 2:17:00 PM

Biotin (5000 mcg Spring Valley from Walmart about $6 - I've tried others online but I like this brand) gives me about an inch of hair growth per month. (I'm currently on my third month.) I noticed it taking effect after I took it for six weeks. I take 3 of these - 15,000 mcg per day (converts to 15 mg) but i think 10 mg is probably sufficient enough. I take these every night before bedtime and strangely, being on that routine helps me fall asleep quicker. My nails are obviously longer and my hair has grown MUCH quicker which was my goal. I'm pleased with my inch every month. I haven't noticed my body hair growing longer or thicker than average, maybe somewhat quicker but it hasn't been significant enough to bother me. No hairgrowth in unusual places. No facial hair. Clear skin. No bad side effects whatsoever. I would recommend this to anyone. :)

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 5 of 5

So this foundation has been around for awhile. I have used several of these bottles over the last five years or so. I'm constantly trying new stuff, but I always come back to this. It just...makes my skin look perfect. (W4, Eurasian skin tone, NC 27 for reference.) The best part about this foundation is that I have NEVER broken out with this, and for some reason, I think that it helps maintain my skin clarity. This is kind of unusual as I have a pretty sensitive, acne-prone complexion. But everytime I use this, my skin looks amazing! I can get random dry areas around my cheeks, but usually when I wake up, it's a bit oily. After I use a toner to balance the oil, I either apply this foundation with a stippling brush or if I'm in a hurry...or want heavier coverage, then I use my fingertips. "Super blendable" for sure. A lot of foundations dry (or set) kind of sticky or tacky, but this settles on my skin extremely smooth. I set this foundation with a light-coverage powder to completely mattify and perfect it. Since this foundation has withstood this long, I do think that it's time for a packaging makeover. WE NEED A PUMP! I personally don't mind the screw-top lid for portable convenience but I think they should sell a screw-on pump seperately so I can put one on the bottle on my makeup counter in my bathroom!

Lipstick -NYX - Black Label- Nude
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 10/21/2011 2:17:00 AM

Delicious scent, non-drying formula, EPIC SHADE for a damn good price! Just so EVERYONE knows, this is LITERAL, I don't even use the word dupe unless it's replica, but. This is a total exact DUPE for Lime Crime Makeup's nude shade, 'Coquette.' This formula is actually a lot better, but you wouldn't ever differentiate the two on the lips, except that this could maybe have a slight more sheen, which this isn't a really shiny lipstick so it's pretty much exact. So if you've been wanting Coquette, save at LEAST $5-$7 and purchase this one. :)

HG<3 Pigmented, pretty, pale, perfect worn alone or with lipstick underneath. Creamy NOT frosty! & Yummy @$$ scent ;) If you're looking for that Kim K lipcolor, this is a #totaldupe for NARS Turkish Delight. Wear this over Nyx Round Lipstick in the new Marrakesh Pink for that super pale peachy pink lip that makes up your smokey eye. (=

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - Famous Dave's Moisture Tan
rated 2 of 5
hautiehippie420 7/14/2011 2:38:00 AM

*This review is for Famous Dave's DARK Tanning Lotion with Bronzer Will I repurchase? I don't think so. Actually...maybe. And here's why. PROS: 1) Lotion formula dries fast which makes it really convenient to use and not a dreadful tanning session where you have to reserve an hour (or more) of your day to apply. It's actually a record for fastest time I've ever tanned my whole body. 2) Moisturizing . It really does leave my skin soft and completely non-greasy. With every other sunless tan, I can FEEL the sticky or oily residue on my skin until the following shower. 3) It does provide a pretty even, streak-free tan. For me this is pretty epic because I notice every little line, discoloration, patch. I did this application quickly (entire body under ten minutes) and there are almost no excessively tan or under-tanned patchy areas. CONS: 1) This is the "Dark" formula and it's really just not dark enough! I would have to apply this twice (4-6 hours apart) to even look three shades darker. The formula IS outstanding but just not enough pigment. 2) TANNING SCENT. So my bottle was labelled "unscented" which was actually disappointing to me because I love scented tanning lotions. But even though the label said I would smell nothing, the lotion definitely has added fragrance. It smells like chocolate mints! Which I thought was perfectly fine and pretty unique. However that obvious and oh so infamous tanning scent that it left on me about six hours later was way more potent than my Hawaiian Tropic or L'Oreal DRUGSTORE sunless tanners. *I guess I MIGHT repurchase this again to accelerate my other self-tanners, or in other words, to use this between darker product applications, because this IS moisturizing and would help even out existing tans!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst in Pink Sugar
rated 1 of 5

No color payoff which is a shame! It's just ultra sheer. It's basically a lip balm & gives a soft glow to your natural lips. Love CB tubes though!

Palettes -NYX - Winter in Moscow
rated 3 of 5
hautiehippie420 3/21/2011 6:22:00 PM

I will be repurchasing this for two reasons: 1) price 2) blush. I love shimmer but I only wear matte cheek color because I use other highlighting products where I apply strategically to contour, lighten, or soften, and blushes with shimmers interfere. In this palette, I use the blush on the left. It is definitely NOT the same as the other blush included (none of the colors in this palette are named by NYX which is one thing I don't like since you can't purchase separately or refer to online swatches very well) as another reviewer said. The left blush is really very light colored bright pink, in fact, I have a hard time finding a cheek color that is just light enough for my (NC20) winter skin but this blush is HG!!! The pigment is amazing and I have a mini Smashbox kabuki (I have no idea where I ever even got it?) which picks up such a small amount of product but wastes none of it and it applies perfectly on the apples. It's so pigmented that I never have to layer it. I have been using it almost daily for at least four months from the original palette I purchased for like, I don't even know, $14? I will say that the blush on the right is also gorgeous (but is significantly darker and contains a coral/golden shimmer...it reminds me of a Nars blush I used to have) although I think it would suit someone with a tan skin tone. As far as the many shadows, udpp is a must. They are less pigmented, lots of fallout from not only the glitters but the color itself, and it can be messy. I mostly use the large black pan with an eyeliner brush when I don't want a harsh pencil line. ***If ANYONE can recommend a dupe for the blush like the one included on the left in this palette, please please let me know! =)

Lipstick -MAC - Budlette Lipstick

HG! A frosty nude! Two of the most controversial adjectives in a lipstick lover's language. Great layering lipstick. Applied with a brush and a light hand is pure angelic. Three tubes in my lipstick display.

Lipstick -Barry M - Lip Paint (All)
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 2/26/2011 3:36:00 AM

Baby Pink (100) - Matte white pink. No shimmer or sheen. Much lighter than Viva Glam Gaga I, Saint Germain (by FAR!), and Melrose Mood, for reference. Saint Germain can be too dark for me so I love this lippie way more! 5/5 Marshmallow (101) - HG nude. Lighter than Myth! Matte. Almost-white but with a slight pale pink base. 5/5 Peachy Pink (147) - Perfect baby peach. Very light. A dupe would be "India" by Nyx Black Label collection lipsticks. Although where India is shinier; 147 is again, matte. 5/5 Shocking Pink (62) - The brightest pink I own. Neutral tones. Not too cool/too warm. Extreme neon pink! This one is darker than the others, but still relatively light compared to other ultra brights. Stains slightly. 5/5 Robot Blue (148) - Dark metallic blue. No lip staining whatsoever; wipes off like it was never there! However does produce a potent lipstick scent. 4/5 Silver Sparkle (105) - Clear base with only small silver glitter that show up on lips. This is actually really wearable over other lipsticks and not overly dramatic statement. It's not a silver lipstick but the glitter content is dense so from a distance gives a silver sheen. Can be messy but I have heard that glitter is the herpes of arts and crafts. You can't get rid of it no matter how hard you try. Regardless, 5/5

Lipstick -NYX - Narcissus
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 2/24/2011 7:00:00 PM

HG! So I actually own Saint Germain, V.G. Gaga, Pink Noveau, and also Nicki's Pink Friday. These MAC shades are significantly cooler toned in comparison with Narcissus. Also, some are a bit lighter. Narcissus is a medium pink shade! It is to me, a perfect neutral pink! It has no lilac or blue tones, and it doesn't have any orange or yellow shine to it either. It is bright and perfect pink at the same time. It is NOT too light so it won't come off chalky or white or pastel like a Gaga's MAC bullet may on some. This is my favorite color ever. I can't find a shade like it. I wanted to love Saint Germain and Pink Friday but these shades swatch much too mauve on my lips. They are a little dark and dull and the cool undertones gray-out on my light yellow complexion. I suppose the best color match by MAC would be Color Crafted. The formula/finish is rather light and "mousse-y." It's soft and extremely moisturizing. My lips are large and dry very easily but the NYX Round formula is so nice! Every time I'm in my local Ulta, I grab every Narcissus tube they have! I give it as gifts and keep a few for back-ups. I love this shade the best out of the Round collection. Of the NYX Black Label lipsticks, I've only bought a few, but so far, the shade Acapulco is most near to this, however not nearly as pigmented. I describe this shade as Barbie Convertible. I will forever repurchase!

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Love Spell
rated 2 of 5
hautiehippie420 2/9/2011 1:54:00 PM

So I'm only 22 but I wore this scent when I was twelve. I kept the spray and lotion in my PE locker for before/after gym (along with face wipes, hair bands, other mid-day fresh-up products). Back then (2001) this was not as "controversial" of a scent; like any other fragrance, people would ask me what I was wearing and I was under the impression most girls liked it when they would ask for a squirt! To me it was a sweet, floral scent but nothing special. Years later I noticed this became overly popular and even in 2008 (and apparently to this very day!) people still wore out this scent! It's not the best body spray in the Secret Garden collection (Passionate Kisses which was discontinued years ago, which I also wore in middle school, definitely was the most unique and delicious scent! Also, Luscious Kisses is pretty yummy, like a coconut citron!) but is somehow the most popular- among 14-year olds and mid-40-somethings alike. If it wasn't so overrated and I didn't get the "I smell...Love Spell!" jingly rhyme from the lady in mom jeans behind me I would probably repurchase. It's a unique scent but compared to any EDP or EDT by Dolce & Gabbana, cannot hold a candle. I used to work at a fragrance counter so when people say that this is their favorite "perfume" I just roll my eyes. Unless you're in middle school, this scent is just too generic to be sporting. And even then, I wouldn't recommend it!

Lipstick -NYX - Harmonica
rated 5 of 5
hautiehippie420 2/8/2011 1:36:00 AM

One of my favorites from the NYX Round collection. I'm on my fifth tube (one got overheated and another got lost) but it really is a much debated color as you either LOVE or despise uber light pastel pink frosts. (And I don't use the phrase "you either love or hate..." often! But it does seem to be a controversial shade!) Anyway it is one which I happen to love and Harmonica is perfect. It's even more perfect than any swatches I've seen online. It is not matte, but not shiny! A good description would be the most pigmented frost lipstick I've come across. There is absolutely no silver nor gold, just super light pink shimmer. For me, the formula can best be described as a mousse in a tube! One of my old tubes partially melted last summer so I decanted what could be salvaged to an old BareEscentuals pot I had. I apply it by dabbing it on with my finger, over some lip primer (currently using Mary Kay Triple Action Lip Enhancer) and I've found it gives it such a long-lasting effect and no slip/slide the way NYX Rounds tend to. Would recommend to anyone looking for a baby pink that would most likely be a porn star's HG! However this just happens to be a favorite color of mine and as long as you keep your lips exfoliated and moisturized, could be worn day or night and with a variety of looks!
