Concealers -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer
rated 5 of 5

I bought this to replace the discontinued "Christian Dior - Hydrating Concealer" which was my HG. My beauty regime normally goes something like this: Spend an eternity looking for suitable product - Finally find HG - Manufacturer discontinues it - Start again. I was expecting the same with this concealer but I can safely say that Dior did it right - this is a perfect replacement for the discontinued product. It has great coverage, super staying power, easy to apply with tiny nozzle and gentle dots under your eyes, and a little goes a long way. It even covers the broken veins around my nostrils. LOVE IT!

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Bio Performance Super Eye Contour Cream
rated 5 of 5

This is my HG night-time eye cream. It is so moisturising - it feels great and cooling as soon as you put it on and you wake up looking hydrated. Suitable only for night cream as I'd say it's too heavy to wear under makeup, but I also take it on planes so my skin stays hydrated. Packaging is good with both a plug and a cap, although it is a pump so you can't get those 'last' bits at te end. Although pricey a little of this goes a LONG way and I don't need to purchase it all that often. If this should ever be discontinued it would break my heart!

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Radiance Eye Cream with Royal Jelly

I'm editing my review on this product, as after using it for some time now I consider it a waste of money. I just doesn't do anything. I'm sure it has a multitude of benefits in respect to the lack of chemicals, but I see no difference in using this versus not using anything at all. I'm going to stop purchasing this and keep looking for another eye cream.

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
grrlfrommars 5/14/2011 6:14:00 AM

I normally wear SPF moisturiser on my face during the day and thought I would start using SPF in my eye cream too, giving this one a try because of the rave reviews. I just found it to be a waste of money because whilst it worked SPF wise it just doesn't cut it as an eye product. It is very watery, doesn't provide much value as either firming or moisturising and is basically just a super sensitive sunscreen. No good for wearing foundation over either. I'll be going back to a normal eye cream product.

Mascara -Becca - water resistant mascara
rated 3 of 5

This is a good day mascara - it isn't clumpy, gluggy or stiff. The first time I applied the mascara I honestly thought I had purchased a dry tube! I could hardly see any evidence of wearing mascara! But this is a quality I have come to love. I just put on one or two layers when I want a natural look, and more for evening or when I want to look made up. The look just gets thicker, it doesn't clump and your lashes stay soft and separate.

Foundations -Guerlain - Fleur de Teint Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

This is a sensational foundation. My staple product. It has ultimate staying power and the finish is flawless. I really feel like I have Hollywood makeup when I step out in this. I too was a little concerned as the shade looked darker than normal but once on my skin it looked fine - a little amount covers a lot. I am devastated to hear it is being discontinued, if anyone has any suggestions for a replacement please message me!

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind foundation
rated 2 of 5
grrlfrommars 12/14/2008 10:05:00 PM

This is a positively awful foundation. I was trying to find a cheaper equivalent of my more expensive staple Fleur De Teint. Really regret this purchase as I don't even think I can get through the bottle! This foundation does not blend well at all, and leaves streaks across my face. Even with powder it does not blend well, if anything it highlights that I have put powder over the top! Did not find it to have good coverage so those with spots etc will need to try something else. Into the bin this goes.

Treatments -L'Occitane - Immortelle Brightening Serum
rated 4 of 5
grrlfrommars 2/19/2008 8:14:00 PM

I was initially hesitant about purchasing this product given the mixed reviews on the site. I had been looking at buying a primer for my makeup anyway so I thought I’d give it a go. From first application I immediately felt and saw results. This has a light consistency and smooths easily over the face. It immediately seeps into the skin and leaves it with a lovely matte finish. My moisturiser is applied over the top and it doesn’t appear as shiny. I then apply my makeup and it looks so much more professional, immediately. My makeup also has more staying power with this as a base – after being out at work all day I get home and my makeup still looks fresh! Since using this product I have on occasion worn makeup without Immortelle Brightening Serum as a base and it just doesn’t look as good, or stay on as long. Packaging makes it easy to apply and the glass bottle feels gorgeous, although it woul make it difficult to travel with. I have fair skin with freckles and it hasn’t exactly lightened my face or evened out my freckles but I haven’t expected it to and nor does it promise to. What it does give me is an immediate skin perk. I have not seen long term results but my complexion is immediately improved for the day after application.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Aglow
rated 5 of 5
grrlfrommars 2/7/2008 12:22:00 AM

This is a beautiful blush that is very easy to apply and allows me to have the natural look I want when wearing a blush. Despite being very lightweight this product has true STAYING power and stays perfect for me all day. I apply it over my compact powder. The chisel shaped brush that comes with it allows you to easily apply in a simple sweeping motion across your desired area. Its packaging is sturdy and I LOVE the magnified mirror that comes with it – I even use it for applying all other makeup when I am out and about. The Aglow colour gives a very natural look and literally looks blushing on my fair skin. There is some subtle sparkle to this powder too, which makes for a very radiant and glowing appearance. Only a very small amount of this powder is required – so I wonder if I will (thankfully) ever run out!

Concealers -Christian Dior - Hydrating Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
grrlfrommars 2/7/2008 12:04:00 AM

This is the best concealer that I have found, it’s the closest to ‘perfect’ I’ve come across for my skin – fair with dark circles under my eyes and some red on my nostrils. Some people might find it thick however I place a few sparing dots on the area, then blend lightly and find it literally covers the unsightly area and replaces it with an even colour. I get the best results from layering with my eye gel then foundation (so it doesn’t set into any lines), then the concealer, followed by setting with powder. It lasts me ALL DAY applying in this manner. The tube is great – very hygienic and the small nozzle allows me to ‘dot’ the concealer on the areas I would like to cover. I will certainly be sticking with this product.

Eyeliner -Elizabeth Arden - Color Intrigue Eyeliner - Onyx
rated 1 of 5
grrlfrommars 2/6/2008 11:47:00 PM

What a FIZZER! I purchased this product to replace my kohl pencil, the appeal for me was the crayon texture which I thought would make it easier to apply. Not so. Although it glides on easily under the eyes the crayon pulls the eyelid. The colour is very soft and not intense at all, so you need to be quite fierce with it to get a dull smudgy look. This product doesn’t have any lasting power. I could perhaps be suitable for people who don’t want to look like they are wearing any eyeliner, but why pay for this overpriced poor quality product to look like you’re not wearing it?! I will be reverting back to the kohl pencil where I know I can get a decent colour and sharpen a decent point.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Perfectionist Correcting Serum
rated 4 of 5
grrlfrommars 5/8/2007 11:14:00 AM

This product has generated positive results for me. I am a 28yo with fine lines, I apply this in the morning on my forehead, crease between my brows, outskirts of eye and around mouth before applying moisturiser then makeup. I feel it has definitely plumped the lines and reduced the appearance of them. I really notice the difference if I've roughed it and gone a few days without my beauty products, ugh! It sits within the skin really well and both my moisturiser and makeup are able to be applied flawlessly over the top. I am really interested to see some negative reviews, obviously not every product is for every person but if you know of some similar products with better results please share with the rest of us.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Wrinkle Decrease Serum
rated 3 of 5
grrlfrommars 5/8/2007 11:03:00 AM

This product is very good for its price bracket. I only have very fine lines but I feel when I have used this it has kept them in check. They have not disappeared but I am yet to find a product that does make them do that. I have swapped to Estee Lauder Serum as I picked some up on sale, it is a much better product, but I am happy to go back to this when I'm all out for financial reasons.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Visible Results Daily Skin Perfecting Moisturizer
rated 1 of 5
grrlfrommars 5/8/2007 10:58:00 AM

OK I would truthfully say that this is the worst beauty product I have ever purchased. As a pre-teen I would have worn better stuff with my loose change KMart cheapie facial moisturiser. There were actually visible results from this - terrible visible results. My skin became very dehydrated and I started to look quite haggard in the face. I felt that this product siply SAT ON my face. If I simply rubbed an itchy cheek the whole lot rubbed gunk onto my fingers. Steer clear people.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream
rated 4 of 5
grrlfrommars 5/8/2007 10:50:00 AM

This is a gorgeous night cream and I have used it for years, in between trialling others, but none have matched this. I apply after I have cleansed my face and it seems to seep into my skin straight away. The product is very thick but can be applied as thick or thin as you require. The next morning my skin is always soooo soft. Wonderful item that has proved the test of time.
