Eyeliner -GOSH - Extreme Art Eyeliner

Exactly like MAC Liquidlast Liner but about $5 cheaper CND. I went to buy some today & was told by the cosmetician that they haven't received any in months & that it has been discontinued. They only have really bright colors left now.. :( Very waterproof, stays on well with my oily asian lids (all day), I could see it being difficult for some (without oily lids) to take off but I don't have any issue. I wish the brush was a bit stiffer/shorter, or maybe a felt tip - but I just use this with my LM push brush to tightline & I love it!

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free
rated 4 of 5

Another winner from the Acne Solutions line - I love this product but wouldn't necessarily call it a moisturizer. It is a product I can use all over the parts of my face where I tend to break out to help keep breakouts at bay, but it tends to dry me out when I use it more then once daily. I do use it as a spot treatment at times and I don't find that it dries me out too much as most spot treatments do.

Cleansers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Antibacterial Soap

I wanted to love this product after reading the reviews on it - unfortunately this soap doesn't do much for me...but it also doesn't aggravate anything... Glad it works for so many others, but too bad it hasn't worked for me...

Toners -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion

I've never been a fan of Clinique's products until this acne line came out. I have skin that is quite sensitive but I've been having terrible acne for the past year or so... Anyhow, this can be quite drying if I use it twice daily so I only use it at bedtime on one day for the most part. Along with the Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer I no longer have 3+ large blemishes at a time, maybe 1 every once in a while. In addition to helping keep blemishes at bay I think it may also be helping to lighten my post acne dark marks which is a huge bonus!

Concealers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer

I got a large sample of this as I'm a fan of many other products in this line. The only reason I gave it a 1 is because it really does conceal spots & it stays on well - here are all the negatives: 1) CAKEY as heck! It looks as though I've applied skin colored spackle on to the spots I'm trying to conceal - thus causing more attention to be drawn to the area - there is not necessarily dryness to the areas I'm trying to conceal causing the cakiness (I thought that might be the issue). 2) Difficult to blend - due to the above cakiness it doesn't blend well, dries very quickly. 3) Limited color selection - from what I can see there are only 2 shades. 4) Drying - on the spots I've trialed it on it dries up the skin on and around the blemish (which I guess is good for some) and almost peels off like a scab - this tends to irritate the blemished area more IMO.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes Pop ~ Fruity Pop
rated 3 of 5

I love the taste & color of this - it doesn't dry my lips out & yes, it is sticky. What I don't like about this is the grittiness, if it were more finely milled - like shimmer instead of glitter (like SIMMER for example) I'd LOVE it.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - The Lip Slip- Sara Happ

This is by far the closest I've come to a HG lip balm. It comes in a pretty gold box with a ribbon around it. Inside you'll find a clear plastic tub with a gold label, the balm itself is smooth & a bit sticky (which I prefer), and it's a baby pink color with tiny little sparkles which don't translate onto the lips - it stays nice & glossy on the lips. It's a bit pricey for a lip balm & it tends to work best on lips that have been exfoliated but again this is the closest thing to a perfect lipbalm that I've found thus far.

Powder -Unlisted Brand - Geisha Ink- Pressed Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5

Love this foundation, it's super finely milled...it almost melts into the skin (rather then being cakey & sitting on top). Right now my skin is freaking out, it's red, blotchy & I have break outs due to stopping my birth control pill (it really doesn't help that I cannot stop picking at the spots on my face)...this covers it all nicely & naturally without looking cakey or fake - it tones down all the redness. I spot concealed using a concealor brush & finished it off with a spritz of Evian water (I always do this regardless of the type of foundation I'm using). It's a natural, glowy finish. I do not find that this aggrivates my acne, or highlights any dry spots. I was color matched to #3 Etsu, I'm typically a MAC NC 20/25.

Lipstick -Clarins - Rouge Prodige - Tender Rose 101
rated 5 of 5
grouchie 2/14/2011 9:26:00 PM

LOVE! I wear this pretty much daily, along w/ #122 (Nude). It's moisturizing, a bit sticky (which I love), long lasting & sheer-medium coverage. This is more wearable then #122 (Nude) for me, it looks pale but natural on my NC 20-25 skin tone. For reference I love 103 (Miami Pink), 122 (Nude) & 124 (Praline)...I just wish I had access to all of the colors here in Canada.

Lipstick -Clarins - Rouge Prodige - Miami Pink 103
rated 5 of 5
grouchie 2/14/2011 9:24:00 PM

My first foray into bright lipsticks. Recently I've been craving a bright pink lippie & I love this formula from Clarins. It's moisturizing, a bit sticky (which I love), long lasting & sheer-medium coverage. On my NC 20-25 skin this is a bright medium clear/clean looking pink. For reference I love 102 (Tender Rose),122 (Nude) & 124 (Praline)...I just wish I had access to all of the colors here in Canada. i wore 122 & 124 for my wedding & it stayed put for the majority of the day & didn't dry my lips out.

Lipstick -Clarins - Rouge Prodige - Paradise Pink 102
rated 4 of 5
grouchie 2/14/2011 9:20:00 PM

Love love the formula. It's moisturizing, a bit sticky (which I love), long lasting & sheer-medium coverage. I don't love this color, on my NC20-25 skin it looks like a pasty bright pink lipstick - like a BAD version of barbie. I can see this looking nice on cooler skin tones who want a bright pink...unfortunately, it's not for me. For reference I own & love 102 (Tender Rose), 103 (Miami Pink), 122 (Nude) & 124 (Praline)...I just wish I had access to all of the colors here in Canada.

Eyeliner -Kiss Me - heroine make smooth liquid eyeliner BK 01
rated 5 of 5
grouchie 12/5/2010 2:25:00 PM

I have purchased this product multiple times, a few of us use this product now, and I use it almost daily. It's a fine tipped firm brush that leaves a perfectly skinny line, I have not problem with getting it opaque on the first try, it lasts all day long and I've not had a problem with smudging or running. Comes off easily when I wash my face, I don't need to use an oil based make up remover to remove this but I do for Heroine Kiss Me Mascara.

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin
rated 5 of 5
grouchie 6/17/2010 10:25:00 PM

I bought these in brunette for my coarse, thick, waist length hair. I use an elastic with it, it eliminates the need for me to use an additional elastic plus multiple bobby pins to create a chignon or low messy bun. It holds fine imo. I have already bought a back up. One set of 2 works fine in my hair. I'm going to try a top/ballerina bun next!

I had the same experience as ashleyanders - I wanted to love it though. Too bad, may work for someone who doesn't have skin prone to clogging.

Treatments -Butter London - Horse Power Nail Fertlizer
rated 4 of 5
grouchie 5/17/2010 9:47:00 PM

I purchased this product today from a local beauty boutique. My nails are weak, they tend to peel and are soft & thin - that being said they are also brittle & I chip my nails alot. They are very short, like a boy's nails. You are supposed to apply one coat daily for 7 days, then remove it all and start over again. It contains horsetail which is a herb high in silica, which the consultant told me would help to strengthen my nails. I prepped my nails in my usual method: 1. Non-acetone polish remover from Sally Beauty. 2. Wash hands & with warm soap & water. Push cuticles back with orange stick. 3. Barielle Nail Revitalizer (it balances the pH of the nail). 4. Apply polish. I am giving it a rating of 2 as it's already peeled off the tips of my two middle fingers a bit. However, my nails feel a lot harder then they have previously. I will continue this for another 2 weeks because the lady said that after 2 cycles I should notice a difference. The bottle has a cap that you pop off, then another screw top. The brush itself is not a thick brush like OPIs but the formula is not too thick so it's doesn't tend to get streaky or uneven if that makes sense. Edited May 23/10: So, I hate to admit this due to the high price tag & the fact that it does wear off the tips a bit - but I removed it today and I have to admit that my nails have not peeled at all this week. And, despite the fact that we are doing renovations this long weekend (that's why I had to remove, I got paint on my nails) I have not broken/chipped any nails. Even after removing the polish my nails feel stronger then they have before. I will update this review if anything changes.
