Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Lady Bug
groovymutation 5/11/2012 11:07:00 PM
Hands down, the best lipstick I've ever worn. The color is fabulous and looks, surprisingly, rather natural. It doesn't clump up, even on dry lips, and it's fairly long-lasting. This red would work for any skin tone (I'm NW15, fwiw) and is very vintage 40s without being too fire truck.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

I wasn't expecting this to be moisturizing enough, given that my skin's a little peely this days from week 3 of Retin-A -- but it actually ended up being magnificent! I use it 2-3 times a day (in the morning, mid-afternoon if I feel dry, and in the evening an hour after applying Retin-A) and it never makes my skin feel oily. I've also not had any break-outs at all, though I'm not sure if that's due to the Retin-A, or if I have the non-comedogenic properties of this moisturizer to thank. Either way, I'm impressed and definitely plan to buy this moisturizer again. I love the gel format, and it even smells very clean and crisp.

Skincare - Face -Garnier - Refreshing Remover Towelettes

The wipes are non-comedogenic and oil-free, which is nice, but unfortunately they did not get any of my mascara off -- despite what the packaging claimed.

Lips -Nivea - Lip Care - Cherry

I LOVE this chapstick! Not only does it keep my lips hydrated, but the cherry coloring is beautiful and very natural. And most importantly, it doesn't start to clump up on my lips; it stays slick and red for hours. I still use Vaseline when I'm at home to keep my lips moisturized long-term, but the Nivea cherry chapstick is amazing if you want to go out (say, to class) but don't want the formality of wearing lipstick.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
groovymutation 5/2/2012 7:34:00 PM
I bought this product because I'd heard Cetaphil was a good brand from my doctor (and I do love their facial cleanser). However, this moisturizing lotion was the WORST. Not only did it turn my face into an oil slick every time I used it, but it gave me an itchy red rash all over my face. At first I thought it was an allergic reaction. I used it about 3-4 times before deciding to return it. The guy at Target said this product has been returned five times this week, to him alone. He gave me the number for client support to call and tell the company that makes Cetaphil what happened. Apparently it irritates a lot of people's skin. Everyone who returned it this week reported getting a red facial rash after using it, and the customer service representative said he thinks the product is going to be recalled soon.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Point Plus Eyeliners

I've been using these eyeliners for ages! I don't understand all the bad reviews, especially those that claim the eyeliner smudged or came off quickly. Mine lasts all day, and sometimes through the night if I'm out all night. I love that they're self-sharpening, and as I'm very impatient (and also have a very busy lifestyle), I like that they don't take long to apply.

I've been using ABS for the past month, and it's been amazing. I had acne and folliculitis on my chest and shoulders, and it's completely gone. (Note: I'd paired ABS with benzoyl peroxide treatment, but I only used the benzoyl peroxide maybe once a week, whereas I used the ABS + a Korean towel 2-3 times a week. I was using the BP before and didn't notice a difference until I added ABS.) Be careful not to keep the ABS chunks in your shower, as they'll dissolve quickly. I keep mine in my room + a knife to slice off the per-shower chunks -- though I should probably change that, as my friend commented that at first she thought I had a moldy sandwich on my desk!
