I have color-treated, thin to normal, dry-ish hair. I've tried FF, Kerastase, Sebastian 9 and this has smoothed my frizzies (we've beeh having a lot of humidity lately). It doesn't feel heavy at all. I'm really liking this so far.

Blush -NARS - Creme Blush in Cactus Flower
groovin 4/27/2008 9:07:00 PM
I waited to buy this blush because I couldn't convince myself that I *needed* it. I have so many blushes that could work just as well, right? Wrong. I finally walked into a Sephora specifically to try this and constantinople. I tried constantinople first and found that, while pretty, it disappeared on my cheeks after a little while. I put cactus flower on and it brightened my complexion. I knew that I wanted to pick this one up. When I got home I tried it on again to make sure that I didn't have buyer's remorse. Nope...still love it. I intend to use it daily. It brightens and makes my face look healthier but it's not so obvious that it screams, "I'm wearing blush." note: I typically have a light olive to neutral complexion that tans to medium during the summer time. Right now, Spring's just started so I'm still light olive to neutral.

Moisturizers -Dr. Hauschka - Normalizing Day Oil
groovin 9/10/2007 9:53:00 AM
I went to a presentation of Dr. Hauschka products and wasn't sure about their products, the described methods of application (rolling, etc.), etc., etc.. However, I liked the idea of using all natural products on my skin so I decided to give them a shot. I have combo skin with t-zone oiliness and some blackheads on my chin. I started with the cleansing milk which was ok but nothing special. After a brief break with this product, I decided to give her line another shot by buying the travel kit for oily skin. Around my pms time, my skin can becomes hormonal and I get some zits that I'd like to avoid. The blackheads on my chin and oiliness on my nose have been longstanding problems that I haven't been able to control even though I've tried tons of products over the years. So, I restarted with the rejuvenating mask first. Hmm, my skin looked a little smoother. Then, I decided to use the cleansing cream, the clarifying toner and the normalizing oil. I've been doing this a.m. and p.m. for about a week now and I think that I'm hooked. Not good for my pocketbook but my skin looks better, less irritated and healthier. I'd love the dewy look but I haven't gotten there yet (lol). Anyway, I've noticed since yesterday that I might have to back off the normalizing oil to once per day. Could be that my skin doesn't need it, I'm not sure but it seems to feel a little itchy (I'll watch this for the next few days and report back). Overall, I'm really pleased with the product (and the kit). I would totally recommend either getting samples from a place like Whole Foods or picking up the travel kit. I found that the sample kit is a great way to sample the products w/o committing too much money. UPDATE: it broke out my entire forehead and took 1 month to clear. I stopped using the normalizing oil all together and only use the cleansing cream and toner. Add'l update: I've been using the cleansing cream and toner (sometimes I use burt's bees toner) for months and my skin is still doing well. My monthly breakout is now 1-2 pimples per month. Hey, I'll deal w/ that. hths!

I was really disappointed with this. I wanted to use it for my water line (for tightlining) but it smears and smudges.

Treatments -Clairol - Natural Instincts Shine Happy clear shine treatment
groovin 7/16/2006 12:26:00 PM
I have some wave to my hair that tends to get frizzy when it gets hot and humid. I really wanted to try to add shine to my hair b/c I get caramel highlights to my naturally dark brown hair and it started to look frizzy and dull (bad combo). Anyway, I used 1/2 of the mixture that the package says to use. My hair is definitely softer and a little shinier. It blended my roots, too. I used it yesterday and wanted to wash my hair today so I used baby's shampoo and the conditioner that it came with. I seems to be less shiny but more so than it would have been w/o it. Overall, it was a pretty good product. My hair is more managable, a little more polished looking and shinier. UPDATED: my hair returned to its normal state really quickly...after a few washes. It was really a waste of time and money. by the way, I stopped using the baby shampoo, too.

I love this stuff. I've always had chapped lips during the winter time, but, it looks like I'll be clear of that this year. I've had the softest, chap-free lips since I started using this back in October. I know that people complain that it smells plasticy--but it's not offensive. UPDATED: I still use this after years. I have 1 stashed in my purse, another in my car, and 1 at work. I even converted DH who hides it in his coat. It really seems to keep my lips from chapping in the fall and winter.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
groovin 12/27/2003 12:34:00 AM
I bought this when it first came out. It's hard to apply b/c you can't let it dry b/f you've blended it. It looked streaky. I typically use my fingers and, if I catch it in time, it gives my cheeks a sheer pink color. The problem is that it doesn't last long and its packaging leaked into my makeup bag. I also can't apply it to my lips b/c it looks like I put some hot pink stain on them. bleh. With all these problems, I still gave it a 3 b/c it looks great when I put it on my cheeks b/f it dried.

A stylist recommended this for my hair. Wow, what a difference it makes. Great product. I've had it for quite a while but I'll repurchase when I run out. Updated: the honeymoon didn't last long. I'd rather use other products that are just as good but don't smell funny.

Blush -MAC - Prism
groovin 12/12/2003 12:21:00 AM
I purchased prism after an SA recommended it to me. I have lt. olive skin (neutral) and thought that this would work out for me. I know that I'm going against the grain on this one but it was a no go for me. This made my cheeks look oddly sunburnt (even w/ a light hand). Anyway, I'm not repurchasing this.
