I am astounded that Sexpectations has only had 1 other review so far. It's a beautiful berry red that looks amazing on blue eyes. I wear it with Soft Ochre paintpot as a base under Ricepaper then put Sexpectations in the Crease with a bit of Centre Stage in the V. The Peacocky colletion is just the best!
Eye Shadow -MAC - Dalliance - Peacocky 2011 Collection Mega Metal Shadow
groda 2/12/2011 12:20:00 AM
I love love love this e/s - in fact all of the Peacocky shadows are great. Dalliance is probably the most unique one in colour and goes on so smooth and creamy on the eyelid. I've only worn it a few times so far - always with Coquette in the crease and Espresso in the outer V. I can't wait to try other combinations though. A must have for any Mac fan!
I think I've finally found the perfect nude lipstick! I'm so excited. The brown undertone made me hesitate about getting it at first (what if my teeth would look more stained!?) but it's really no problem. It's one of those nude lipsticks that actually show up and doesn't look like you're straight out of the morgue - or have no lips at all (hello Blankety). I highly recommend this product. For your reference I'm medium toned.
Like so many others have mentioned, Copperplate is a great murky grey eyeshadow for contouring. Here are two ways of using it that I love: Vex (Lid) + Copperplate (Crease) + Typographic (outer V and Lower Lash line) Orb (Lid) + Quarry & Copperplate (Crease) + Copperplate (Lower Lash Line). Macroviolet fluidline as eyeliner. Both beutiful combos which I've found through Youtube.
Happy Together is definitely one of the gems out of the In the Groove collection. It's a beautiful bronzy orange/peach blush with just the perfect amount of shimmer. I never bother going for one side of the duo only - blending the two together gives the perfect result for that look of healthy glow. I like pairing it with jazzed lipstick and just a simple eyeliner + mascara look for the eyes........... I know they're not the same, but for some reason this blush makes me think of Prim and Proper from the Liberty of London collection which I also love. The colouring is sort of similar but the finish is very different.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Love to Love Mineralize Eye Shadow Trio
groda 8/3/2010 9:05:00 AM
I'm not sure why Love to Love hasn't got more positive reviews yet - it gives you the perfect neutral look! It may not be the most intriguing eyeshadow trio from the In the Groove collection but it's definitely one of the most wearable ones. The creamy beige colour is gorgeous and the bronze colour is a much better version of Amber Lights. (The last colour, a medium brown, is also good but just not as memorable as the other two). I'm going to take this trio with me on my next trip away -much lighter than having to pack a quad.
Like so many others I went through a lot of hassle to get one. While I can see why it's so popular - it is funky and original after all - it is not for me. I'm medium skin tone but I still feel it shows up too strongly even when I try to pick up very little with my brush. My cheeks really scream out "I'm wearing blush" and look like disco balls with a red traffic light shining on them. Not a very wearable MSF for me. Maybe I'll wear it for special occasions such as New Years Eve?....
Blush -MAC - Prim & Proper - Liberty of London [DISCONTINUED]

When in doubt of what blush to wear I always put this one on as it goes with just about all looks...........at least all warm and neutral ones. The beautiful satin pink/peach nude colour makes it perfect as a blush/bronzer combo. When I wear it I never feel like I need to add bronzer or highlighter to the final look too. Prim and proper is one of my all time favourites from MAC!
I've gotten so many compliments wearing this nail varnish this week. It's such an unusual gunmetal blue shade. I don't think I've seen anything like it before. Highly recommended to people who like wearing dark nails for something a bit more edgy!
I bought this product based on the rave reviews on MUA. Unfortunately it has not worked out for me at all. Every time I've put it on night time I've woken up the day after with super puffy eyes, and a break out on the skin under the eye is there. (Not attractive looking at all!) I would say I have mildly sensitive skin but have never had such a strong reaction to any other skin products before. So my suggestion to everyone who's looking to buy it is to get a sample and try at home over a few days first. My shop didn't have samples to give me and I could only test it off the back of my hand. I've learnt my lesson now and I'm trying not to think of the horrendously high amount I forked out for nothing. Straight to the swap list it goes!
Oh..so...nice! I've never been much of a lipstick person but I think A Rose Romance is turning me into one. I've been inseparable with it since I bought it. It's such a beautiful warm pink on my medium toned skin, and a layer of See Thru lip colour in Secret Crush underneath makes it just perfection.
I have to say the marketing around this product is very clever! I could have bought Coralista just for the box alone. It's really bright and funky with leopard pattern on it. Like makeup for the jungle ....ha ha. It also has a citrusy scent (I think it is) which makes you want to wear it even more. The blush itself is peachy matt-ish toned with a hint of gold in it. The colour has more of a kick to it than Dandelion which can I find a bit wishy washy. A highly recommended product, if a bit pricey....
Lip Gloss -MAC - Red Devil (Brunette, Blonde, Redhead Coll., Spring 2009)

I was going to write a "proper" review on this item but then I read what the reviewer before me had to say and realised mine would have been pretty much the same.....it IS the top pick of the BBR collection and it IS very pigmented and it DOES bring out the blue of my eyes. I'm so glad I picked this one up!
I got into the Neo Sci-fi product line about half a year after it was launched (yes I was scared off by the bright orange packaging). I was lucky and managed to snap up a few of the eyeshadows on Ebay. Evening Aura certainly is the most beautiful of them all! It's a light wonderful colour, perfect for summer. It reminds me of Da Bling - but peachy of course. I'm glad I also got Magnetic Fields and Femme-fi as they make the perfect combo together with Evening Aura.
Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit (Rococo)

Here's another big fan of the product! Like some other reviewer mentioned before me, this is a great (I would even go as far as to say must-have) summer product. It really brightens up your face an gives you a beautiful sunkissed shimmer and glow. Go easy on it though....a little goes a very long way.
