I'm glad I tested this before buying. Like most celeb scents its starts out innocently enough fruity and pleasing, and ends up the most cheap, musky, barfly smelling thing there ever was.

I thought this would be a refreshing, uplifting smell but it turned out more like Irish Spring on my skin.

Wow, I can't believe this recieved so many bad reviews. All I can think is that this perfume does not match everyone's chemistry. I was lucky enough to try this in a store, and then sample it over the next few days from a vial. It melted on my skin producing a warm, glowing, lush and fresh fragrance, just what I was looking for! Try before you buy I guess. Lol!

I agree with lily, below. I tried this due to all the hype recently. While I like the root beer float middle stage, it dries down and opens up way too intensively and gets right in your nose and throat in a very unpleasant way.Like all the poisions, it always seems to border on a try-too-hard, femme fatale, tip.

The most obnoxious flagship store is in New York. Avoid it like the plague. Twice I have been there and twice I was treated like dirt (and no, I was not dressed like a bum, or badly behaved) I simply wanted to browse and try all the fragrances without being interrogated and given dirty looks. So I tried asking to buy some samples, I was told they don't SELL samples...So I asked them to GIVE me samples, and was told they don't just GIVE OUT samples. Furthermore, they do not allow online perfume shops access to their products so people can try before they invest in one their honking overpriced bottles!!!! So let me get this straight: -They don't let you"browse" quietly in the store -They Don't SELL samples -They don't GIVE away samples; and -They don't make samples available online So how the HELL are you supposed to know which of their fifty thousand perfumes you are willing to splurge for!!?? Horrible customer relations and way overrated scents. Its no wonder their ratings are so low on here.

Started out as just the green natural fragrance I was looking for and ended up smelling like some dry weeds that had been rooted up, and left in the hot sun for a day. SO close!

I received this as a sample along with a purchase and was pleasantly surprised. I've been sniffing and buying a lot of perfume lately, and this quiet, little known gem has stolen my heart. Very well done, realistic floral, incredible sillage. People talk about walking in a garden on a summers day. This really is. Just lovely. Perfect.

It was almost really nice this one, but my nose keeps smelling a dishwashing liquid over everything else. I gave it to my friend to smell and he was not able to detect the soapy smell. I guess its not for me.

Great, great summer fragrance! Its clean and fresh, but it has some body to it without being musky in the least! Its got some of the best cedar I've smelled, along with citrus and bergamot. Blended like a dream; it just smells GOOD! Truly unisex, doesn't feel like it belongs on any particular gender. Great!

Fragrances -Tom Ford - White Patchouli
rated 3 of 5
greydovefeatherwing 5/25/2011 11:38:00 AM

I've been wanting to try this one for a while, so I did yesterday. The initial spritz was very clean and herbal, I couldn't smell anything floral, certainly no white flowers. Later, a it turned a little rubbery. About 20 minutes later, on the train, I noticed a musky smell coming through. It reminded me of Chanel's musks- the classic heavy musk of the big French houses. I don't care much for musk, but I know guys like it, and sure enough a few guys made random eye contact with me and smiled. I felt formal and powerful, and about 10 years older than I was... I felt like a businesswoman. At some point I started getting a thin fruity floral effect, which I guess was Ford's attempt to make this appeal to 20 somethings as well as 35 and up. All in all, an interesting perfume. Nice reaction from the men (which is a plus) and not unpleasant to smell. On the down side, It was very "perfumey" and felt very mature. I think it would suit a corporate type of woman. Also I don't think it was particularly well blended. The notes came along in a clumsy, paint by numbers kind of way.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Ange ou Demon
rated 5 of 5
greydovefeatherwing 5/15/2011 11:23:00 AM

I don't know why people say they can't smell the demon in this scent. Its definitely there; something dusty, and creepingly ancient under the notes of dark chocolate, patchouli and white lily. I love how this perfume carries the concept of duality throughout. The bottle is both black and white, the name evokes something both good and evil, and even the fragrance speaks of something dark and light. I can smell the earthy, dark patchouli, which never gets heavy enough to overpower the heavenly, pure, and angelic white lily hovering above it. Beautiful, and somehow very "French".

Soooooo....lovely!! At first I thought it was too strong, but on the dry down its starts to remind me of earl grey tea with honey. I've searched for a good earl grey note for so long! Must be the Bergamot...Heavenly!
