Liquid -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Foundation

Didn't like this at all. The texture is very thick, dry and difficult to spread, and it doesn't blend in well with the skin. It was like tinted glue that highlighted dry patches and peach-fuzzy facial hair in a big way. The only way I use it now is in TINY doses as a concealer, and even then it's not that great.

Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Visibly Firm Eye Cream

Sigh. I wanted to like this. I usually do like Neutrogena products, but this stuff sucked for me. The texture was like thick glue, and it left an annoying heavy feeling under my eyes, like what I get when I'm tired or sick. AND to top it all off it didn't leave my skin feeling moisturized and actually made my undereye creases look WORSE. Will absolutely not repurchase. Probably won't even finish jar. Any of you who liked it want to trade? ;-)

Mascara -Neutrogena - Weightless Volume Mascara

Yes, it gives you a natural look---so natural it's like you're not wearing anything. So then why bother? I need a zillion coats to make it look like I have any mascara on at all, and the smell of this stuff is strong and foul, as if it had gone bad even though it was a brand-new tube. For drugstore mascara, I'm going back to Great Lash.

Treatments (Eye) -Mary Kay - TimeWise Age Fighting Eye Cream

I bought this after reading all the glowing reviews, since I wanted a less expensive alternative to the Dr. Gross Vit. C eye gel (good stuff, btw) but I just don't see what all the fuss is about. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but this stuff actually STINGS the skin near my eyes (and no, I'm not getting it IN my eyes). It soaks in quickly, which is nice, but the bad news is that by the end of the day I need to reapply 'cause my eye-area skin feels dry again. Sigh. I guess I just have to pony up for the $$$ Dr. Gross.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Post Blemish Treatment
rated 1 of 5

I bought this before there were all the reviews and I wish I could've read them first! I wanted SO badly for this to be a HG and alas, pretty much everyone is right: It doesn't make any obvious difference in reducing acne marks. And the packaging is terrible, the way the stuff keeps coming out after you stop clicking it. Save your money.

Self Tanners -Bath and Body Works - tan-do attitude bronzer and sunless tanner for face
rated 5 of 5
greensubaru 5/31/2004 4:27:00 PM

I have tried several self tanners (both drugstore and department store varieties) and I always come back to this one. It's great for the self-tanner-shy because the bronzer in it lets you see where it's going to help prevent streaks, and the consistency makes it easy to spread around thoroughly (unlike the kinds that soak in immediately). I actually like the fact that it doesn't develop dark; it makes for a more sublte effect for us pale girls and allows you to gradually build the color with more applications. The smell ain't bad, either. Here's a little-known fact: according to a BABW employee, the formula for the face and legs/body are exactly the same---the face one just comes in a smaller tube. So save money and buy the bigger one and use it everywhere.

Skincare - Body -Coppertone - Coppertone Sport Spray SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
greensubaru 5/4/2004 1:54:00 PM

Hated this---brought it on my tropical honeymoon thinking it would be convenient and good for my husband who hates greasy creams. It was worthless. I burn easily in general and I got sunburned, the product felt icky and it was difficult to operate the spray if your hands weren't perfectly clean and dry. It's also tough to tell whether or not you have enough on and if all exposed areas are covered.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
rated 4 of 5

Being very fair, I'm a bit of a sunblock connoisseur and this is one of my faves. Haven't been burned from it yet, so to speak. I have combo skin prone to breakouts and haven't noticed any ill effects from this product. Looks a little greasy initially but then soaks in and mattefies. Haven't had any problems applying foundation over it (I use Prescriptives Photochrome). Smell is subtle and pleasant. Once this stuff's on I don't feel it at all. Even my husband who hates putting on sunblock will agree to use this stuff. The packaging is good---the cap goes on easily even if your hands are still a bit slimy. Overall, I see no reason to try anything else!
