Palettes -Chantecaille - Olivia
green72 11/15/2010 4:36:00 PM
The colors are in a beautiful purple/pink range despite some photos making them look brown or dirty. The colors really are great with some matte and some slightly shimmery yet sophisticated - I returned the palette because after applying the eyeshadow, a lot of it landed under my eye and I had to clean it off. I expect this from a cheap drug-store brand and am not willing to put up with it on a daily basis with a luxury brand. In other words, the formula is too chalky. You will need lid primer in order to wear these shadoes which introduces problems of wearing primer. Also, the included brush for eye shadow should have gone the extra step to have one end as a liner brush like Bobbi Brown palettes do.

Shampoo -Sebastian - Drench
green72 11/9/2010 3:51:00 PM
I use this as the second shampoo because my hair needs washed twice. It smells good, and leaves hair soft enough, I don't always feel the need to follow up with conditioner. The conditioner is nice too. The only problem is the bottle design is unstable and falls over a lot.

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Sunday Shampoo

This shampoo really gets the oil out and I use it like it's name suggests - one day a week. It lathers well, unlike most clarifying shampoos.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Platinum Bronzer Brush #48
green72 6/2/2008 4:43:00 PM
This is the exact name of this brush - it has a platinum colored handle and is more expensive than the popular black handled version by Sephora. The main difference? Softness on the cheek. This goat hair is simply softer! It feels like a massage treatment all over my face. It's very smooth for blending make up into the skin for better coverage. Such a good price for the size and quality of the brush. I haven't used mine long enough to comment on long-term shedding.

Primer/ Corrector -Guerlain - Meteorites Perles Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer
green72 6/2/2008 3:44:00 PM
I tried this product in the store yesterday so I can't speak about longterm use (it's new). The packaging is so beautiful, almost reason alone to purchase. The liquid is lightweight and does shimmer once on - kind of like a liquid version of the meteorite pearls in the lightest shade plus primer. Since I only wear powders on my face, I plan to buy this (they were out of stock when I was in) to use under a powder for a little luminescence in an otherwise matte situation. Definitely fun for sunny weather and casual use.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Matte eyeshadow in Narcotic
green72 6/2/2008 3:20:00 PM
Normally, I only wear conservative neutrals to look subtle - so this was the first bright color purchase for me. However, it can look very sheer and wearable. I lined my eyes with an almost matching matte eye pencil from lancome - vatuluele. The turquoise eyeliner with this shadow create a pretty look that isn't too wild. Fun, unique, color. Would need to apply a base to get the real intensity of the color.

Highlighters -Guerlain - Les Meteorites Ball Powder Beige Chic 03
green72 6/2/2008 2:33:00 PM
I give in. I do like this product. If applied lightly, it gives my pale skin a warm, luminous, sheer coverage that I like. I look as if I've taken longer to get ready - but it's faster to apply than bare minerals and much less cakey. Shimmery, but no glittery. The new compact - pressed powder - is less exciting and more expensive - but does solve the problem of carefully opening the contain to prevent the pearls from spilling out.

Makeup Brushes -Shiseido - The Makeup Powder Brush
green72 6/2/2008 2:25:00 PM
This brush is VERY soft. I wish Shiseido would list which fabulous natural fibers comprise this brush. Feels like squirrel. The head is a little floppy and makes for a sheer, light application. The flattened and slightly angled head does allow more precise application under the eyes and around the features. Good for blending or finishing.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Le Crayon Khol in Vatulele
green72 6/2/2008 2:15:00 PM
I agree with past reviewers. Beautiful, perfect turquoise color. Matte and classic in appearance. Long stick so there is plenty of product. I add some almost matching eye shadow from Urban Decay in the color narcotic. Very fun for summer.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Powder Brush
green72 5/28/2008 4:31:00 PM
This a perfect substitute for expensive department store brands and will suit a lot of women. It's a good value and does the job well. I use it with pressed and loose powders. You can use just the side of the brush to apply blush. Having said this, I prefer an even softer bristle. This brush does shed about 1 hair every other use. I have to pick it off my cheek. After a year, the brush is still very full - not thinning much. If you're not picky - this brush has a nice shape and density for typical use.

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - No Puffery Cooling Mask for Puffy Eyes
green72 9/27/2007 5:35:00 PM
I started using this more frequently since moving to a humid climate (northeast compared to southern CA). It has helped reduced the puffiness that forms over night from the humidity so I can go on interviews without looking like I drank and partied all night. I smear gel on the lower and sometimes upper lid. It feels cool because it's a gel and then I do other parts of morning routine. Once i feel and look less puffy, I wash it off and proceed. And though it is not cheap, I feel a lot better with this routine than putting cold packs on. They are always willing to give you a sample at Origins so try it first to see if you like it.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
green72 9/27/2007 5:23:00 PM
This lotion is smelly mineral oil. It might work if you have perfect skin in the normal range - but then, you can easily find a better moisturizer. If you have any sort of oil or acne issues or combination skin or care about how your face smells, it's not the right lotion for you. I used to use the samples in an emergency - but it still didn't help with dry patches - i keep tiny aveeno bottles around now for emergency applications. It works and is cheap.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Super Rich Repair
green72 9/27/2007 5:14:00 PM
I use this product if my skin is extra dry and also sometimes at night to keep it really moist - in the hopes that it plumps up fine lines. I have found this heavy duty cream to be really gentle on my sensitive and medicated skin.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Sheer Moisture spf15
green72 9/27/2007 5:03:00 PM
I use this as a daily sunblock or if I can't wait for the stronger chemical sunblocks to take effect which is usually 20 minutes. This is a light moisturizer that leaves a little bit of sparkle on the skin probably due to the ingredients that make it an instant physical sunscreen. Easy to apply. Very hygienic. Does not smell weird or like chemicals. Would give it higher score if it weren't for the sparkle that is sometimes noticeable.

Toners -Dermalogica - Multi-active Toner
green72 9/27/2007 4:57:00 PM
Nice, mild toner. I use this product to remove surface dirt or a little make-up between washings or when I'm too tired to properly wash before bed. It feels good to spritz on washed skin or wipe on after a wash. It does a good job of cleaning residue without stinging. Even the non-alcohol toners sometimes sting after more than one pass - not this one. Smells good. Probably good for hydrating skin while flying on a plane - they sell smaller travel sizes.
