Skincare - Body -Noxzema - Triple Blade Disposable Razors
rated 1 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 12/19/2012 3:54:00 AM

I picked these up, B1G1F. I've never used them before. I have fine hair...and these razors couldn't cut melted butter. The razor head clogs almost immediately (and I'm talking immediately as in; after 2 strokes). They are going back in the morning. So much for trying to save a buck.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - BioTanical Professional Formula Silk Protein Conditioner
rated 4 of 5

I was looking for a conditioner that would finally suit my fine hair. As the majority just make my hair a greasy mess! I found this brand (in a 1 Liter bottle) at Rite Aid. From the research I have done, it is an exclusive Rite Aid brand. My opinion: I love it. It is packed with silk and wheat proteins, it cleans my hair wonderfully; and give it lift like a pro. I only apply the condition about ear level and down. It doesn't weigh my hair down, and no greasy appearance what so ever. It was $15.00. When I purchased, it was on sale for $9.99. In addition to the sale price, I also got $7 in UP rewards dollars. I love the package, while large, they all come standard with a pump top. Will be repurchasing!

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Extra Strength All Over Smart Wax Hair Removal Kit
rated 3 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/21/2012 12:48:00 AM

I can't say it didn't remove hair...it did so quite well. However, You have to be very careful, this wax tends to leave threads of wax. I did my legs, brows, upper lip, and bikini area. I do actually love the oil that came in the kit. I didn't find I had to scrub anything too hard to remove stray wax. I do wish tho, that for the amount of wax you do get, that they would provide more oil. I did wax as instructed. Used rubbing alcohol, baby powder, then the wax. I find the thinner you apply this wax the better, however; it is NOT the most spreadable wax out there. I would only repurchase in case of necessity. My next waxing haul will be from sally's. This wax cools very fast, so if you don't have a warmer, you WILL be reheating very often.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/21/2012 12:35:00 AM

I use to love my Cetaphil...until I did more skin care research. I thought it was getting my skin clean. My hormonal break outs were semi under control. After about the first week of use (once daily)...my skin would consistently become tight after washing. I would use my cetaphil moisturizer, but to no avail. The one thing I LOVE about the packaging? You can lock the pump down into a closed position. While I do go back to it on occasion (always of out convenience rather than necessity), I won't be repurchasing. I do think that it is expensive given that it doesn't consistently perform with my combination skin. Another product I wanted to love, but it just didn't meet my basic expectations.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Heat Defence Styling Spray
rated 4 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/21/2012 12:29:00 AM

♥♥♥♥♥ Love this product. Does very well in protecting my hair against damaging heat styling. Doesn't make my hair crunchy. It also doesn't make my hair sticky/gummy. You know...when a product makes your hair so sticky/gummy that your flat iron actually sticks to the portion of hair? This does not do that. Love the longer trigger, its easier to manipulate while in the middle of working with my long hair. Leaves hair sleek and manageable. Easy to comb through hair with this product in. Also, love the smell. It smells nice; similar to the more expensive salon products that may be used on you during a salon visit. It also lightly scents the hair after. Love! Will repurchase/recommend.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
rated 2 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/21/2012 12:25:00 AM

While I was excited to purchase and try this product (based on MUA reviews)...it just never performed the way I thought it would. Now, please note that I have fine hair. I really think that this was just too heavy of a shampoo for my particular hair texture. Now, because I have fine hair, if I don't have the right products, my hair just sits there, lifeless and limp. This made my hair very dense, and I couldn't go more than 24 hours between washes. Consequently, because it made my hair shaft so heavy, it always looked greasy. When my hair required frequent rewashing...that would exacerbate the oil production even more. It was a vicious cycle. I wanted to love this product...but it just didn't work out for me.

I have purchased several of these. I actually like this one more than SV. It goes on smooth, never needs thinner, dries quickly. Does exactly what I need it to, performs to the fullest every time. Will repurchase/recommend.

Polishes -China Glaze - Fifth Avenue
rated 5 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/21/2012 12:17:00 AM

This is by far my favorite China Glaze out of my entire collection which spans 400+. When I purchased it, I wasn't all that impressed. However, it quickly rocketed to the top of my favorites. I have always loved china glaze formula and brushes. I get wonderful wear out of the majority. I find that no matter the brand of polish the wear of it depends more on your bc and tc choices. Fifth Ave. is hum ho in the bottle. The magic wonder of this polish? It transforms itself between the bottle and the nail. Maybe it is my skin tone, but it compliments my skin perfectly. It is a dusty mauve...but it just looks wonderful on. I don't have to worry about what I'm wearing clothing wise, because it just goes with anything. I almost consider this a nude. Now I'm aware that it isn't a tan or standard neutral. Its in the pink family. I get consistent compliments on it, every time I wear it. I consider it a nude, because I actually reach for it most as my go to polish. It can be dressed up or down. Goes well in the office, and it isn't so bright and out there, that I will get in trouble wearing this at work (a major hospital). Love love LOVE...if ever I run out, I will repurchase.

Liquid -Rimmel - Match Perfection
rated 3 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 8/12/2011 3:06:00 PM

I'm still on the fence about this. Packaging? NAY.....I HATE that it is still in a screw top bottle. PUMP please! I actually liked the coverage for work, as I have acne prone skin. I found that this found that this foundation didn't set for me, even after using powder. When I purchase some setting spray or a specific setting powder, I will edit my review and tell you if my stance has changed on this. Price? It was on sale, so I grabbed it to give it a try. I don't know if I would repurchase, but Ill use this for now, until I get paid and buy my chanel mate lumiere (I know I totally just spelled that wrong), but Ill keep it for the just in case moments when I run out or what have you. I did find I got better coverage with less product when I applied with a wet sponge as opposed to my hand or a cheapy foundation brush fwiw.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 1 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 8/7/2011 10:13:00 AM

I had high expectations for this foundation. I guess that is why advertisers make good money. I have combination skin, and get hormonal breakouts. The packaging is deceiving in that I really thought I was getting more product than I actually did, but that wasn't half my problems. This settles into every nook and cranny of your face. Including your pores. After just one use, I broke out, I've never had such an instantaneous pimple breakout like that in my life (and I'm almost 30). So, I chalked it up to a fluke. Put it away for a while. Pulled it back out...and WHAM....happened again. This is going in the trash, and I will not be repurchasing. Too bad, because the color selection and my personal color choice had to be one of the truest out there on the market for me. Not too pale, and not overly tan. Shame.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 4 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 8/5/2011 6:39:00 AM

I have the initial impression of this product a four, because I just purchased and started using it. Price? The initial price shock was pretty high for me. However, after initially using it for the first time yesturday; I know I'll have this for a long time to come. So over all the investment isn't that bad at all. Packaging? I actually like the tub idea. I will be purchasing a smaller tub to go into my purse. While I don't anticipate putting this on, "on the go", it will still be nice to have at my disposal, or simply, just for travel purposes. The extended review: This jar is jam packed with product. Has a clean, almost non existent scent. I have combination skin that is prone to bad hormonal break outs. I have been using Cetaphil brand face wash for several months now, so last night, I followed up with this. I literally just swiped my index finger across the top of the cream, twice. I didn't dig, I just swiped. I STILL had enough product left to rub into my hands. I applied it to my entire face, chin, neck, and chest. I anticipate having this for over a year with daily use (provided my husband doesn't use it). I paid about $13, so even if it lasts me a year, thats $.03 per application. It took a couple of minutes to soak in, but wasn't greasy. It was wonderful. And my face was instantly smoother. I applied it last night based on some of the "greasy" reviews. I now know I don't have to do that, and can apply the cream in the morning after my normal shower. Great product so far. Would repurchase. I will edit this review should anything else develop. Wonderful. Don't let the initial sticker shock stop you from purchasing!!!

Moisturizers -Ole Henriksen - Vitamin Plus Balancing Cream
rated 2 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/30/2010 12:32:00 AM

Received this in a started kit. Not that it doesnt moisturize. It does, but like a previous reviewer states "It looks like I rubbed melted butter on my face."..and that is exactly what it looks like for me. Maybe I will try to use this at night only. As the night time gel does much better for me. I dont think I would repurchase this item.

Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Aloe Vera Deep Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
gothicsdarkangel 9/30/2010 12:27:00 AM

I am undecided as to if I will repurchase or not. I got this with the oily/acne prone starter set. I does leave my skin feeling clean. Also, I use a facial pad (looks like a stiff loofa in the shape of a tear drop- from Sally's) with it, and it DOES foam for me. The first time I used it, was originally with my bare fingers and I didnt like the way it worked with just the fingers. I only need the tiniest bit of product on the facial sponge and it lathers totally thru, and I have enough to do my face really well along with my neck and chest. It even has enough left on there while Im rinsing. I have noticed clearer skin, although I am using it in conjuction with the rest of the kit. I will update or re-review once this is done to let you know my total feelings on this set.
