Polishes -Canmake - Nail polish

I have it in 46, it's a very girly pink - kind of bubble gum like. It's not normally a color I would go for, but I received it as a gift from very special people, so I will keep using it. Ease of application, the time it takes to dry, and lasting power is all pretty standard.

Pros: prevents my lips from getting drier than it is. Soothes chapped lips. Cons: SPF 4 is too low. Does not have much moisturizing power. Have to reapply every hour or my lips get chapped again. Dislike the flavor.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear Hard As Nails - Almond Crunch
rated 4 of 5

Color: 4/5. It's a warm peachy pink with gold glitter. The glitter is not outrageous at all. I prefer a colder shade of pink, but this is very nice. Application: 5/5. It goes on much easier than Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength. Time until dried: 4/5. Pretty standard drying time. Cons: contains formaldehyde.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength - Rose Petals
rated 4 of 5

Besides French manicure, I like this color the best on my nails. Like the first reviewer said, it's a truly rosy pink, definitely a cold color (vs. a warm one). It looks very good on my finger and toe nails against my pale skin. It does look very glittery and childish in the bottle, but when applied, it's actually quite harmonious on an adult female professional's hand, and does not look outrageous at all. Staying power and the time it takes to dry is pretty standard. The only reason I will not give it a 5/5 is because it contains formaldehyde, but then it's hard to find a cheap nail polish without. Also, application is more difficult than other polishes because the consistency is a tad bit too thick.

Conditioner -Garnier - Pure-Clean
rated 3 of 5

The place I live at during my school year has incredibly hard water, which makes my hair get dirty sooner, dull, and tangle up. I bought this conditioner hoping that it would make a difference. Well, it didn't, but then I can't really blame it, because nothing else has worked either. This conditioner is light in weight, has a faint smell, and is environmentally-friendly. I'm sure it works fine like any other conditioner, it's just unable to counteract the hard water problem.

Eye Makeup Remover -Paula's Choice - Gentle Touch Makeup Remover
rated 3 of 5

I like this remover, but not well enough to repurchase. It leaves my skin very soft and smooth, but it blurs my vision and it takes quite some effort to remove even non-waterproof mascara. Kanebo's Freeplus Beauty Oil Cleanser does a better job.

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

This is a good and basic shampoo. It cleans well and does not bring any side effects. The smell is barely there. My house has soft water, so I cannot attest to how well it maintains its ability to clean for people who live in hard-water areas. By the way, I have very long hair, and in order to protect my hair, I only use shampoo to clean my scalp, and use water to rinse out the rest of my hair. This is how hair should be washed, anyway. My only complaint is that sodium lauryl sulfate is the 3rd ingredient.

Lotions/ Creams -Paula's Choice - RESIST Skin Revealing 10% AHA Lotion

This is the secret to my nice-looking bottom of feet. The product does have an unpleasant smell, but it doesn't stay. I apply it from the neck down after shower and then apply another lotion (Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion) on top for added hydration. Keep in mind that this product makes you more sensitive to the sun, so make sure to apply sunscreen to exposed areas. I alternate this with baby oil after shower, and my skin has gone from reasonably soft to incredibly soft!

Cleansers -Kanebo - Freeplus Beauty Oil Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
goofyhusky 1/16/2013 12:11:00 AM

This is my favorite makeup remover. It removes all makeup with just one use, and I have tried liquid, oil, two-phase removers, or remover wipes from L'Oreal, Paula's Choice, Olay, Dove, and just olive oil or baby oil. Nothing works as well as this one, and it doesn't irritate my eyes or skin at all. The only problem is trying to find it in the US :(

Masks -Unlisted Brand - cucumber mask
rated 1 of 5

I tried it in different ways, but it always resulted in dry, irritated, painful skin with red bumps. I washed the cucumber, cut in slices, and tried both skinned and unskinned, tried rubbing it around or just leaving it on my face. Nope, didn't do anything good for my skin and always gave me irritation. Bummer, I love eating cucumbers :(

Liquid -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Sheer Refining Mousse Foundation
rated 4 of 5
goofyhusky 12/27/2012 5:26:00 PM

I have it in 7YR-L: light beige. This foundation gives the easiest application ever - it's hard to go wrong. I squirt a dime- sized amount on the back of my hand and apply with a sponge. It's lightweight but provides good coverage. I have to be careful not to go overboard, else it would make you look a little too made up! Unfortunately, if I use any foundation for more than 10 days successively, I will develop an allergic reaction. This one is no exception, but it's not its fault. This is no HG for me, but I still like it a lot.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil
rated 4 of 5
goofyhusky 12/27/2012 1:39:00 AM

I like the simplicity of the formula. I use this alternatively with the Skin Revealing 10% AHA Lotion from Paula's Choice after shower, and the result is amazingly soft and well-moisturized skin all over the body! I normally prefer products without fragrance, but the smell of this product is fine. One minor problem is the greasiness (well, of course you have to expect that), once I stepped on my bedside table to reach something a little while after I applied it to my foot after shower, and the greasy foot print was still there the next morning! haha. No one should be scared of mineral oil - cosmetic grade mineral oil is very good for your skin and there is a ton of reputable medical journals out there that will tell you that.

Conditioner -Nuance by Salma Hayek - Mamey Fruit Volumizing Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
goofyhusky 12/27/2012 12:44:00 AM

What's with the smell? It's so strong, heavy, overpowering, cheap, and grandma-like, once people who shared a ride with me (half an hour after I washed my hair) complained about it. $3.39 for a 2 fl oz bottle is not cheap, but I bought it for the travel size convenient. The packaging is horrible - you have to squeeze sooooo hard to get anything out. About its conditioning ability: it works as well as any other conditioner out there, not outstanding, but it does its job. Bottom line: the smell and all that has deterred me from coming back to it.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - CVS Baby Pure & Gentle Lotion SPF 60
rated 5 of 5
goofyhusky 12/26/2012 5:24:00 PM

This is the ONLY sunscreen that works for me - after more than a decade of searching for a sunscreen that won't break me out, make me develop allergic reactions, feel sticky, or give me unwanted freckles! I went to Hawaii for 7 days, spent lots of time under the sun and in salt water, with this slathered all over my body, I didn't even get a bikini tan line. It does give a white tint and settles into the lines of my palms (I have to rub my palms hard to even it out), but application is overall easy, feels light, and is not irritating. It claims to be water-resistant for 40 minutes, but I've been in the water for 1.5 hours at a tim without reapplying, and still no tan line. I checked the products ingredients on beautypedia.com to make sure they are all safe and non-irritating. This is definitely my holy grail!

Shampoo -LUSH - Jumping Juniper solid
rated 2 of 5
goofyhusky 11/10/2012 3:54:00 PM

This is not doing it for me. I wash my hair 3 times a week with conditioner. The first time I used this shampoo, it felt clean but my hair felt rough. I don't think it cleaned that well, as my hair got pretty oily and dirty by the end of day 2. The 2nd time I used it, it was the same. The 3rd time was last night. This morning, my scalp is itchy, flaking, and I'm sure I won't be using this again. You'd also have to buy their tin box (which is overpriced) in order to make sure you don't waste the product. I ended up using this to hand-wash delicate clothing items, and it does a good job!
