Cleansers -Kose - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil

I bought this at Mitsuwa, which is surprisingly close to my city in a way. To keep it short an sweet, I like this cleansing oil. I was nervous about the mineral oil content but so far my skin is behaving normally. Smells nice, cleanse my face well. Not wild about the price but hey it came from Japan.

I am shocked that this is touted as a leave in conditioner. I will admit that I have naturally curly kinky hair that can be drier than the Sahara desert (4a/b/c porous, dry scalp) but this product for me was no better than using water and baby oil. I have used this for about a month until I couldn't take it anymore and returned it (Thank goodness for Sally's return policy). For detangling properties, there was none. It didn't leave my hair moisturized, even when I put it on damp (not sopping wet) hair. I even tried twisting my hair, which helps retain moisture for my hair but it was a bust. I even used the DoubleButter Cream on top and my hair was even drier eight hours later. I wanted to like this line because the creator of this line is also responsible for theKeracare line.

Sadly this cleanser irritated my already acne-prone skin. I gave it the college try for about two months before calling it quits. Thankfully my drugstore accepted this with little hassle. *sigh* I wanted this cleanser work out for me.

Honestly this is a pretty good detangler for my 4a/b/c hair. I had to use a lot of the product to make it work for me but it did its job. I will not repurchase because the amount I have to use to detangle my hair, I will need a gallon size jug and that will price me out into buying it.

For my 4a/b/c porous, fine (but leans a bit thick in density), dry hair, this is such an average conditioner for me. I used it during the winter time and I didn't see any noticeable changes in my hair. It didn't help with detangling and my hair didn't seem more moist. Then I traveled overseas with it and I finally saw that it helped with my sun exposed hair. I left it behind for my cousins who might appreciate it more than I did. I will not repurchase for myself but will for my cousins.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Proclaim - Natural 7 Oil With Argan Oil

I had this bottle for over a year and I just recently made it to the bottom. I use this oil as a preshampoo/hot oil treatment. It works better for me in the winter due to the indoor heating and lack of humidity making my fine 4a/b/c porous dry hair pretty brittle. And the oil blend kind of acts like buffer to prevent my shampoos from stripping my hair of all of its oils. I also like to use this on my cuticles because it helps me grow out the damage to my nails (working in retails sucks) and makes my nails stronger. I also use this in the winter as a lotion booster because I have some lotions that are just too watery to be used on its own in the cooler months. Since this contains sunflower oil, and sunflower oils contains ceramides that helps keep your hair stronger and moisturized and reduces breakage and all that literature. Since I am almost out, I will wait for a sale to stock up.

Ironically I liked this on my natural hair better than on my relaxed hair, but up to a limit. Now I am realistic that my hair dry and fine 4a/b/c (but doesn't look like it is fine to many stylist) porous hair loves moisture in any forms but if I use it consistently, my hair becomes stringy and gross and feels coated. I have pretty much moved on to better conditioners, which ironically is the ORS HaiRepair Nourishing conditioner.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - As I Am- Cleansing Pudding

For my dry, porous 4a/b/c, non-relaxed hair, this was an adequate shampoo. It does help ease the tangles, when you lather once. If you do a second lather, it will breakdown any oil left in your hair. So unless your hair is incredibly oily and loaded with hair product, one lather is more than enough. I took off a lippie because the container is not ideal for shower usage because water will find its way into it and the texture is a bit slippery. Unfortunately I found a shampoo that cleanses but at a cheaper rate. I will only buy this if it was deeply discounted.

I hate to bring down the ratings but this was the worst product for my hair when I had it for about a month. Quick run down of my hair: 4a/b/c, porous, dry, damaged at the ends, no relaxers. Every time I used it, it will keep my hair moisturized for an hour at most. Then the next thing you know my hair feels like hay. How is that even possible? I will admit that I have highly porous hair but it would hold moisture for at least a day before drying out. I even twisted my hair with it and my hair was so dry. I really am baffled on why my hair would react this way. Thankfully Sally's graciously accepted my returns. But the caveat was that I had to pick something of equal value.

Honestly it is a fair moisturizer. I don't hate it or do I love it. It is nothing against the moisturizer but it doesn't measure up to La Roche Posay mattifying moisturizer. I will continue to use but right now I am on the fence in repurchasing. However it was okay to use when on Retinoids medications.

Cleansers -Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser

This is an excellent cleanser for my acne prone, sensitive and oily skin. I have designated this cleanser as my warm weather cleanser since I tend to get extra oily in the summer. It does nothing it terms of oil control but it wasn't designed for that. It takes a small amount to cleanse my face and neck, which I can appreciate. I love it more than Cliniqure's cleansers, which is beyond harsh for my skin. I also love the fact that it is sulfate-free. I will continue to repurchase.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser

Ironically for my oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin, I actually love this cleanser. Let me explain why. There are days when my skin freaks out and my usual cleansers would be too harsh to put on my skin. Enter the Cerave Hydrating cleanser. With this cleanser, I can easily cleanse my skin and remove all of the dirt and crap from my face. This is my morning cleanser and sometimes night time cleanser. It doesn't break me out or burn, unlike Cetaphil. I wished I known about this cleansers years ago then maybe my acne wouldn't be so persistent. I swear I have ignorant and hateful derms.

Moisturizers -La Roche Posay - Effaclar Active Matt moisturizer

I really love this moisturizer to death but sadly it lacks a SPF. If this has an SPF at least 30, it would have earned HG status and I would paid any price to have it on hand. Instead I have to use another sunscreen that is greasy and runs into my eyes when I work out outside. Will repurchase.
