Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Kollagen Intensiv
rated 1 of 5
goldensun 9/24/2012 1:30:00 PM

Kollagen Intensiv is advertised as helping the skin make its own collagen, but it did nothing. Showed Kollagen Intensiv to a dermotologist who said there are some peptides in the product, but nothing that would produce collagen. Used it for six months, with no change in the skin whatsoever. First month, Kollagen Intensiiv dried out my skin. Called the company and told to use another moisturizer over it. Jar is plastic which is nice so if dropped, won't break. You can get all the product out of the jar due to wide mouth. Will not buy the product again. Price depends on how many you buy at once. There are better products on the market for the same price giving some results. Cannot recommend this product.

Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream
rated 4 of 5
goldensun 11/5/2010 4:16:00 PM

This moisturizig cream is very good especially if you have dry skin or dry patches. It helps to put moisture into the skin...almost like putting a barrier on your skin, too. The cream comes in a 16 oz jar which I found at CVS. Cost me about $13.00 after applying a coupon. Long lasting even though I have used it for the entire body. Quickly absorbs. Not greasy. No lingering smell. Non-comedogenic. Developed with dermatologists. Only reason for the 4 star and not 5...would like easier way to get product from jar. Maybe a small spatula to come with it. Good part using a jar; all product is used.

Treatments -Serious Skin Care - Firm-A-Face
rated 2 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 10:36:00 PM

Expensive, flakey, chalky results. Tried this product several times and watched the demo many times to see if I was doing it right. You need to shake the product first, before using otherwise it will be much too liquidy. When I do use it since it is too late to return to HSN (got it in a kit), I mix a very small amount with my moisturizer and apply. Would never order this product alone.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Gloves in a Bottle
rated 5 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 10:31:00 PM

Excellent product for protection of the hand Aa the name indicates "Gloves in a Bottle"; very good light lotion for the hands which is a skin protection barrier, too. If you are very sensitive to products, chemicals, etc., get this and use it daily. You do not even know you have it on your hands. Washing a few times does not remove the protection, but you should reapply several times during the day especially if you are shaking hands or much people contact. Highly recommend to use traveling, during flu season, etc. I found out about this product from my dermotologist. Not the easiest product to find, but pharmacies can order it for you. There's a small 2 oz size, 8 oz size that you may find comes with a pump. You can order directly from company, too. There webite is dot com Gloves in a Bottle is hypoallergenic, fragrance and colorant free. Oh, yes....made in the USA!

Conditioner -Wen by Chaz Dean - Re-moist
rated 2 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 10:21:00 PM

I use Wen products and tried the Re-Moist Hydrating Mask when it came with a kit. The Re-Moist comes in a 4 oz. jar where you need to put your fingers in each time to apply the mask. After cleansing your hair (again, I use Wen cleansing conditioner), apply Re-Moist to very wet hair. The longer you leave the product in, the more benefits your hair gains. After applying the Re-Moist, I gently comb it through my hair. Next I usually put a plastic cap on or saran wrap around the hair then a turbie twist so I won't mess up the bedding when I leave it on overnight. Then rinse it off.....do not need to bother cleansing hair again. Your hair will be very soft, shiny, stronger and more volume. It is an expensive product to use often. Depending the length of your hair, the 4 oz. jar may last for several applications. If your hair is very dry on the ends, apply a bit more. Update: November 5, 2010 ~~ Will be canceling ALL my Wen auto ship orders with QVC. I have been having on/off reactions for a year around my hair line, neck and face. Areas on my face and eyes (the worse) have swollen with tiny blisters filled with fluid. Yes, I have seen two different dermatologist and have used prescriptions to combat whatever was causing it. Finally I had 3 days of testing and found I am NOW allergic to Methylisothiazolinone (there are several synonyms for this. I have never been allergic to this before, but a buildup in my system gradually caused this. MOST of WEN's products have this in. It is a preservative found in many shampoos, cosmetics and skin care products, as well as in household and industrial products. I only use natural products and steam clean. The scientific name is CL+ ME- Isothiazolinone. Go online and check out this chemical....you will be very surprised what harm it can do to you. Look under Wikipedia under methylisothiazolinone. I wish I would have known this before every trying WEN which I have used for over two years (remember buildup). It would have saved me mega dollars in a year's time going to the doctor, pharmacy and now this allergen patch test. Hope this helps others. Chaz Dean needs to rid his products of this caustic preservative.

Treatments (Eye) -Perlier - Risarium Black Rice Eye Cream
rated 1 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 10:10:00 PM

Tried the original rice eye cream and the new improved (black tube) since they indicated it was much better than the original. Not!! Both products caused a severe reaction for me which took a few weeks to get my skin back to normal. I cannot recommend the Perlier Rice line. Yes, I tried the other products which all resulted in a negative reaction on my skin. Apparently there are ingredients that I cannot tolerate....according to my dermotologist.

Skincare - Face -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads
rated 5 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 10:06:00 PM

I buy these from Puritan's Pride online at $5.99/$6.99 for 50 pads depending if product is on sale. You do not need to use them daily. Tea tree is beneficial for the skin in removing dirt and residue. It is, also, an antiseptic in healing. Yes, there is a smell which is normal being tea tree. The scent does not linger. A slight tingle may be felt, too, but that passes quickly. Tea tree is a natural product from Australia.

Styling Products -Wen by Chaz Dean - Volumzing Treatment Spray
rated 2 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 4:18:00 PM

I have lightly sprayed my hair more like a spritz to use as a hair spray. It does work, but still with the drying effect. Have not noticed any volumzing to the hair whatsoever. The only way I would get it again, when I am purchasing a kit from QVC with one of the WEN cleansing conditioners (those are very good) and the spray would be the bonus. I would not purchase this product separately.

Treatments -Ojon - Swa Hair Building Ampoules
rated 5 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 4:11:00 PM

You can get the 8 SWA ampoules through QVC. At first I thought one small vial would not cover my hair which is several inches pass my shoulder, but you do not saturate the hair. Squeeze a small amount onto the scalp and work through the hair. I leave the SWA in overnight where it works into all the hair. My hair got stronger and stronger after each use (started using one vial a week) with little to no hair fall out. You apply SWA to dry hair. The hair does not have to be washed first. If there is any product in the hair, you can still use SWA ampoules. Washing it out may take one or two washings, but you will find your hair is stronger and softer. I have ordered the ampoules several times and keep them on hand where I can use them every couple weeks now. 8 ampoules can last two months or longer.

Hair -Wen by Chaz Dean - Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 4:02:00 PM

Been using Wen cleansing conditioners for several years. Sweet Almond is the universal one if you don't know which one to start with. Does leave the hair feeling very soft if you use enough product. Many do not use enough product for cleansing or rinse well enough. I use 1 to 1 1/2 pump as a leave in conditioner. Start on the ends and work through the hair as the leave in. You won't have dry ends. It takes awhile to get use to using this product. Some times midway through the bottle, the pump stops especially when it gets 1/4 left, add some water and pump will work. I usually just start enough bottle. When it gets to the level I can add the other bottle, I let it fall in overnight. Update: November 5, 2010 ~~ Will be canceling ALL my Wen auto ship orders with QVC. I have been having on/off reactions for a year around my hair line, neck and face. Chaz Dean needs to rid his products of this caustic preservative. Update: December 22, 2011 - After discovering the extreme reactions of WEN products that built up in my hair and in my body (yes, body!!!) due to the preservative used in the products (see above update), my hair and skin is back to normal. In fact, I am now getting compliments on my hair that I never did using any of the WEN products. Stopping WEN and trying many natural products, I finally found Giovanni deep moisture shampoo that makes my hair soft and shiny. Also, I use the GPB from Aubrey Organics. Using these two products show my hair healthy, shiny, soft and manageable. Compliments have come especially from women of all ages.....teens, as well, and that is a high regard since they have youthful locks. I will NEVER use any WEN products again....and will NEVER recommend them either. Luckily my dermotogist discovered the problem before the chemical did more harm to me. Be aware of what is in the products you buy and what they can do to you internally as well as externally!!!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 4 of 5
goldensun 9/18/2010 3:56:00 PM

Have the mini Clarisonic system which works very well. There is only one speed with runs one minute. To charge the unit is with one end on the handle of the Clarisonic (it is magnetic and just adheres to the unit), the other end goes into the wall receptacle. Very easy for traveling. The downside to the Clarisonic is the very expensive brushes. QVC sells 2 brushes for $40.00. Would be nice if Clarisonic would make a better price for the brushes.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic Explosion in Blackest Black
rated 4 of 5
goldensun 9/17/2010 8:55:00 PM

Use both the waterproof (blue) and the red (regular) depending on occastion and time of day/night. It takes awhile to get use to using the round wand; but once you understand how different it is, it does separate lashes beautifully (top and bottom). Gives a very natural look if you use one or two coats. Sometimes I use the L'Oreal Voluminous first and then this mascara for a deeper look. Did not find any clumping or flaking as others reported.

Eyeliner -Jordana - Easyliner for Eyes (Retractable Pencil)
rated 4 of 5
goldensun 9/17/2010 8:47:00 PM

Comes in a variety of colors. Works well on the lower inner rim of the eye without any irritation even if you are a contact wearer. A better cap that stays on would be ideal; some times it falls off. The pencil itself is retractable. You do not need to sharpen the pencil.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Spray Mist
rated 5 of 5
goldensun 9/17/2010 8:43:00 PM

Good product that is paraben/PG free. No aluminim cholorhydrate. It's hypoallergenic. I use fragrance free. Use on underarms and can be used on feet ~ or spray in your shoes to rid of odor. Does not control/stop wetness if that is your biggest concern. Your body needs to have some wetness as a natural cooling factor. If you have a problem using the deodorant crystal rock, try the spray. Good to apply after bathing/showering to work into the system. If you think it is not working for you, try exfoliating the underarm area. A health specialist told me people forget to do that area on their body. It does make a difference, too.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
goldensun 9/17/2010 8:35:00 PM

Cleans very well and easy on the skin. My dermotologist gave me a sample to try, and I have been purchasing it since. Very good for sensitive skin, too. I find it at CVS. Comes with a pump. One pump can do the entire face. Does not dry out skin.
