Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Perfect Brow Pencil in Brunette

So I was looking for ONE product for my brows that I could just swipe on and go with on a daily basis. I am so lazy and sleepy in the morning that no matter how hard I try, makeup just does not get done - no, not even eyebrows. As a matter of fact, very little, other than brushing my teeth and showering, gets done. But I wanted to at least start doing my brows if nothing else. This product makes that possible. Many have complained that it's hard and waxy, thereby seemingly underpigmented. But, for an everyday clean brow I do not want to be overpigmented. So, I like the formula (though it was a turnoff at first). It allows you to get a natural, everyday brow without using wax AND pencil AND powder AND gel, etc...I guess Anastasia knows best. And it stays on ALL DAY - even with my oily skin. After you start making those little short strokes, you see your brows coming together quite beautifully. And the color is natural and subtle. Perhaps for a more intense look, I would want to add a powder. Also, I have a feeling it will go a long way because you don't use that much to get your nice natural brow and the pencil is long. I love just throwing this in my bag to use on the train to work - right before I nod off for a nap.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover

I've been using this for a couple months. I suggest that you use it only if you are wearing makeup. While, it does remove makeup well, it doesn't actually clean well. I always wash again with something else. Plus, it is surprisingly astringent.
Concealers -Unlisted Brand - L.A. Girl Pro conceal HD concealer

So yeah, I'm feeling this concealer. It was $3!!! And so far I do not see a remarkable difference between it and my MAC Pro Longwear concealer. I think, possibly, I could get away with not setting the MAC Pro Longwear on my oily skin. I do need to set with the L.A. Girls. But for 3 bucks, I am happy to set it! And after I set it, it is good without a powder touch up for about 6 hours in a mildly humid atmosphere. I like it under my eyes and I like it to even me out on the rest of my face. I just cannot believe this little BSS three dollar holler!!! And it has an attached brush which is nice. 12-19-12 EDIT: Don't love this anymore. It gets watery, then you end up having to squeeze out more product to get past the water. Also, it doesn't wear as well the older it gets either. So, if you are in a pinch, it's okay. But, I'm not so psyched anymore.
Fragrances -Avon - Simply Because Eau de Toilette Spray

My breakdown based on the scents I am familiar with... (0 = not at all, 5 = exactly) Watery....4 Pink Floral....3 White Floral...0 Sweet....2 Tropical....1 Oriental....2 Berry...0 Orange/Citrus...0 Sugary/Gourmand....1 Woods....0 Tobacco...0 The top notes are distracting for me - though most top notes are. I can't really comment on them. I'm best at picking up mid notes and bottom notes. My overall feeling on this one is that the mid notes seem to last and last on me....nice! I guess I would describe the mid notes as watery, pink florals - light and fresh. It's been three hours and the dry down hasn't kicked in yet - which is cool with me. Maybe I will come back to comment on that... Here is Avon's overall description: "Celebrate each day in your own way. Juicy lychee adds a sparkling touch to this spirited bouquet of pretty pink blossoms and creamy vanilla musk." I can see myself reaching for this on an everyday, anytime basis. I think it's just interesting enough not to be too distracting for too long.
Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Sweet Mint

While this product does not provide INSTANT relief to dry, chapped lips it does do a good job of preventing chapped lips when used regularly. At first, I was very disappointed with the performance of the product. However, I thought about it and realized that I am used to Carmex and ChapStick which is chocked full of chemicals that quickly provide relief. But I was dedicated to using this because it is so natural and organic and I am putting it on my mouth so I may as well be eating it lol. I like it more than chapstick and carmex for that reason. Also, I reapply it less frequently than I did with chapstick and carmex and it actually works better over time! You just need to stick with it for a couple of days and you will find that it actually does keep your lips soft and supple.
HG undereye concealer! I saw this used on a model on the Iman cosmetics youtube channel and it looked so effortless I had to give it a whirl! My results.... Blends with my skin tone? CHECK! It comes in three shades and I chose the darkest shade named "earth". When I look in the mirror I see no ugly orange-y nor ashy yellow or blue. All I see is my skin - without dark circles of course!! Stays put all day through a muggy day? CHECK! On a regular, non-muggy day I probably would not even need powder. Easy to to apply? CHECK! The applicator is shaped perfectly for your undereye area. All I do is swipe it on (just like in the imancosmetics youtube vid) and pat it in. Affordable enough to be a staple? CHECK! I got it at Walgreen's for $10!! Now mind you I did need to hunt down the exact walgreen's that had it, but I just used the walgreens.com store locater so it was easy. Feels good on? CHECK! This is probably by far my top requirement for face makeup. I honestly cannot even tell that I have this stuff on. It is not irritating to my skin or eyes! My undereye area is not dry, oily or anything. My next purchase of this will be in at least triplicate!
I have this in the twilight color but it is my intention to buy ALL the colors and never any other brand of crayon! I love crayons because they are so easy to apply and smudgeable. But of course, they can be drying. Not this one!! The first thing I noticed when applying is the smooth, creamy, moisturizing texture and I thought to myself "it feels great, but will it stay put?" After an 8 hour, 98 degree June day it did that plus some! It garnered a TON of compliments from men AND women alike. People noticed my eyes like never before. Also, on my NC50ish skin it is the perfect daytime smoky eye creator! It has a very few specks of microglitter that also stay put along with the color. By far my favorite thing about this is that it feels REALLy good going on. It feels so good that I hafta remind myself not to apply too much!! Go buy these now!!! P.S. I ordered this directly from palladiobeauty.com, along with a few other great prods, and it arrived much quicker than they originally estimated for me so that is a huge plus!
HG polish remover except that it tends to run on the pricey side. It is the only sponge remover that I have used which actually removes your polish with just a few swipes. This seriously cuts down on remover time - even with gliltters. It is quite magical. All the other sponge removers I try always leave some polish in the corners or on the tips, but not this one!! I love it plus it doesn't dry my cuticles. I highly prefer and recommend.
Treatments -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil (100% Pure Australian)
godpsent 6/6/2011 4:32:00 PM
My review is for Melaleuca brand, not Trader Joe's. But the Melaleuca brand is also 100% australian. HG for breakouts on my shoulders and upper back. Prevents the breakouts, clears up the scars like nothing I've ever tried. How I use it: 1. Put a few drops of jojoba oil on a cotton ball/pad. 2. Put one drop of the tea tree oil on the same cotton ball where the oil is. Thereby I have diluted the tea tree oil before I apply to my skin. 3. Reach around and rub down my shoulder/back. 4. Repeat steps 1 thru 3 for the other side of my shoulder/back with a fresh cotton ball. It will be quite fragrant at first, but the fragrance does not last. Don't worry, I am the first person to complain about a fragrance competing with whatever perfume I choose to wear for the day.
Toners -Unlisted Brand - sea breeze astringent - sensitive skin
godpsent 6/6/2011 4:04:00 PM
This is HG for my itchy scalp. At first when it was recommended to me I was hesitant bc I remember not liking the smell and it drying my face when I used it as a teenager. But I went out shopping for it when I wanted something to stop my itchy scalp since I do not like to shampoo often. I saw that there was a sensitive skin formula and gave it a whirl. I have not turned back since. It is NOT drying, it contains glycerin! Plus the smell disappears once it dries. And it dries quickly! I actually dilute it in a spray bottle with 1 part water and 3 parts sea breeze. Then I spray it directly on my scalp. It dries quickly and most days I just go on with my life. But sometimes, I rinse it out in the shower. My scalp feels clean and fresh plus I do not have the itchies anymore and I do not need to shampoo as often. I do not like shampoo because I have kinky, coarse hair that reacts poorly to the detergents and sulfates in shampoo. In short: I recommend this highly for itchy scalps in kinky, coarse hair textures. Plus it's pretty darn cheap.
Love this. I love the white minimalist design..its so anit-MAC! It is easy to hold, just the right size and I love that I will be able to switch out colors and carry it along in my purse. Gonna buy more and more and more again, again and again!
I use the golden colors as an everyday highlighter on my cheeks, nose and chin. It does not really hold up too well. I combine all the colors for a blush...meh... This does not have real staying power so I will not repurch.
Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Small Precision Brush
godpsent 6/3/2011 12:39:00 PM
When they say small, they mean small! This brush allows for MAX precision of applying gel liners and lip color. It will not work as a smudge brush so don't think about it!
This was some mess... It refused to stay where I put it, it was like trying to apply colored flour to my face... I like the color but it required way too much application to get it to show up. And so it was like having a bunch of colored flour on my face everywhere. I think it will make a decent all over bronzer but not for longwearing. Someone really fair skinned might appreciate this more for a nice natural blush. As for my NC50 self, not a repurch! Oh, 1/2 extra lippy for the cool packaging.
I have heard there really is some ingredient in here that dries your lips and makes you use more. I definitely believe that because I find myself using this about 10 to 15x a day in the winter. I started using the 100% naturals chap stick and found it more moisturizing and less addictive. It costs a bit more (about $2.80 per) but I use less so it lasts just as long. In the winter I use it maybe 3 or 4x a day.
