BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

I can't comment on this as a BB cream (when I ran across the term "BB cream" on MUA I had to Google it), but it is a nice tinted moisturizer. It evens out my skin tone and substitutes for foundation for everyday makeup. I wear a separate SPF 30 moisturizer, so I'm not concerned about the amount of titanium dioxide in it. My face is occasionally shiny at the end of the day, but when it's 95 degrees and humid, shine's going to happen. I will repurchase.
Moisturizers -Ponds - Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream

Pretty remarkable stuff. I've been using it for two weeks. I've noticed a definite reduction in lines, and my skin is very smooth. Cons - the smell is very old-lady perfumey, and it's tough to find. I hit about every Walgreens in the Loop before I found one with it in stock. (And no, I'm not saying which store had it.)
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe

I'm pretty impressed. The color is more gray than brown, but I like the way it looks over my blue eyes. A little goes a long way, and it blends very easily. I'll go back for more when I run out in 2015.
Though this doesn't completely cover up my dark circles (which have started to look more like trenches), it conceals pretty well given its thin consistency. I do like that it doesn't camp out in my fine lines. It's a good weekend/put-it-on-and-go concealer.
Moisturizers -Eucerin - Extra Protective Moisture Lotion SPF30

I've been using this for several years. It keeps my skin protected, even through midwestern winters, and despite a lot of time outside in the warm months, I've never been sunburned when I've got this on. Even though I'm a sucker for the next miracle product, I think I'll stick with this for my regular daytime moisturizer.
I really, really wanted to like this, based on the reviews and the extremely affordable price. It may just be me, but the color (chestnut brown) faded on me within a week. In the future, I may try different shades, but only those that are close to my natural color.
Lip Treatments -Blistex - Blistex Medicated Mint Balm

The winter is always my test for lip balms, and though I'd used Blistex Complete Moisture religiously, my lips were cracked and bleeding. A couple days of the Blistex Medicated healed them after about two days. It doesn't give any sheen or color, but that's a small price to pay. And speaking of small prices - I got the medicated lip balm at Walgreen's for $0.99 a piece.
Maybe I don't wear that much makeup, but this removes all that I wear. My skin is soft, and I don't get dry patches anymore. I have used it for about five years, and have no reason to change.
Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel

This is a very good toner, regardless of its low price. I don't detect a tequila odor - maybe those reviewers that do should lay off the tequila. ;)
Back in the olden days, I used Sea Breeze and graduated to Clinique Clarifying No. 2. After about 15 years off toners, I tried witch hazel based on MUA reviews. After reading MUA reviews, I started using witch hazel. My skin, which was pretty good to begin with, looks a little better; the witch hazel is refreshing, and handy to have on hand for insect bites.
Mascara -Maybelline - Cake Mascara in Velvet Black

I wore this in the late 1970s, and I boosted it from my mother. It made fabulous, full, feathery lashes. Given that it's been 30 years, and back then I did my makeup twice a day, I can't testify to its staying power. I'm surprised its still available - I haven't seen it for a quarter century. Now that everyone is introducing battery-powered oscillating wands, and there are two dozen formulations of every mascara, I long for the simpler times. But not for $45.
Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - French Fries

This is a nice bronze/copper color. It blends very easily. I've worn it alone, without any primer or powder, and haven't had any problems with creasing.
These are excellent eyeliners - I picked up a bunch for a dollar a piece. They blend well when first applied, and they have great staying power. I can't speak to their wear on the waterline, because I don't apply cosmetics to my ocular mucous membranes, for fear of infection.
Scrubs -St. Ives - In Shower Exfoliating Body Polish - Oatmeal and Shea Butter
gocats 8/6/2009 10:24:00 PM
This product exfoliates well and leaves my skin very soft. The sugar crystals dissolve at just about the right time to make rinsing easy. Getting the right amount out of the jar is a pain, but a poster for another St. Ives scrub suggested using the spoon-shaped handle of a razor, and that seems to me like it would do the trick.
I've always come back to this product, after using Voluminous, Lash Blast, Exact Lash, Neutrogena, Clinique, Lancome, etc. It creates nice full lashes, and I haven't experienced the smudging of other commenters. Given the price and performance, I'm done experimenting until the next miracle product comes out tomorrow or the next day.
