Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
glowing500 5/15/2013 5:26:00 PM
I love these. I've tried everything, including the Costco brand (awful, irritated my skin), and I heart these the most. These little suckers take off my makeup, even Estee Lauder Double Wear and Revlon Colorstay and all of my eye makeup. I do have to go over my eyes quite a few times to get the gunk off but I always wear waterproof mascara and liner, which is pretty hard to remove. These are gentle and non-irritating, even on my sensitive skin, rosacea prone skin. One small bone of contention is the packaging. At first I just bought the refill packs without the plastic case. The seal does not reseal them all the way so I had quite a few of them dry out. I finally broke down and bought the blue case for them. I just rewetted the dried out wipes but a package re-design is in order here. Love these, I stock up on these every time I hit up Wal Mart.

Eye Primer -Milani - Eye Primer
glowing500 4/26/2013 4:09:00 PM
This did not work on me. I have super oily lids and my shadow creased by lunchtime when I used this product. I had to take my Sigma fluffy brush to my lids to smooth the creases out. I wish it worked because the price is right but I will have to stick to TTSI.

Lipstick -Milani - Rose Hip #07
glowing500 4/8/2013 4:42:00 PM
Rose Hip is a bright, blue based pink lippie along the lines of MAC's Candy Yum Yum...but not as obnoxious as CYY. Face it...CYY IS obnoxious! I've looked at pictures of myself wearing CYYand all I can see is a big, bright clown mouth, plus CYY is so drying and matte, matte MATTE! Rose Hip is opaque but with a slight shine, I would not call it matte. It has a smell, I can't quite decide what smells is like but it goes away almost as soon as you apply it. It's not drying and the lasting power is good, it wears off and leaves a stain on the lips. This lippie really flatters my fair, cool NW 15-20 coloring. I'm pale but I can pull off bright lips. I can see how somebody with yellow undertones in their skin would not like this color. This is worth searching out. I've been looking for this forever and finally found ONE left in a CVS when we went out of town. I like the gold tube it comes it…it looks pricey!

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Moisture Twist 2-in-1 Primer + Color
glowing500 4/5/2013 12:56:00 PM
I have this in Berry Blend which is a very pretty plumy pink color with a nice shine. It really flatters my NW 15-20 complexion. To me, this is more of a lipstick in a tube instead of a lip gloss. The staying power is ok but I reapply lipsticks and lip glosses all day long. I didn't see much plumbing and it also felt a tad dry on my lips, but not a all sticky. I bought this on sale at Ulta plus I had a 20% off coupon so the price was right.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Violet Shine
glowing500 3/20/2013 1:39:00 PM
I am loving this very pretty lippie right now! Violet Shine is a strange name for a lippie of this color. You cannot use the label on the tube to judge the color as the label is a deep, dark plumy color which makes you think the color of the lippie is going to be dark and plumy...not true! This lippie is a pretty, sheer, light rosy pink color. It's shiny with some sheen, not sparkle. I'm very fair, cool, MAC NW 15-20 and this color goes especially well with my coloring. The only problem with it (and with ALL NYC lippies) is that is tends to be somewhat drying. Applying a lip balm is necessary and takes care of the drying quality of this lippie. This was 99 cents at CVS and this was the only color left. It was covered in some horrid tape that I had to use a box cutter to cut through. I'm not sure if the store put that tape on it or the manufacturer did but please NYC, find another way to seal your products. I was ready to toss this into the trash before I was finally able to get it open.

Brows -New York Color - Browser in Brunette
glowing500 3/4/2013 1:35:00 PM
I picked this up when Rite Aid had New York Color products for buy-one-get-one-free. I was searching around for my "free" product" and I saw one of these hanging on the display. It looked WAY too dark for me since I'm blonde and fair but I threw it into my cart anyway. I'm shocked at how much I like this product. I take an old, stiff Smashbox brow brush that I've had for at least 10 years and mix both the wax and the brow color together. If I use a heavy hand, the color is way to dark for me but if I use it lightly it's perfect for my pale, invisible, blonde brows. I've never liked brow pencils and powders marketed to "blondes" because I'm so pale that I feel I need darker brows to make an impact. I can see why some people who say the brow powder alone flakes because it's so soft. That's why I feel that mixing the powder with the brow wax gives the best results. The packaging is cruddy. I threw out the little plastic case since it was too much fumbling early in the morning. The product without the plastic case does not close completely. It's fine the way it is just sitting in my makeup stash but I would not feel safe traveling with it. I still set my brows with Anastasia brow gel and I'm happy with the results.

BB Cream -Physicians Formula - Super BB Cream
glowing500 2/25/2013 4:59:00 PM
No, No, No, No...N.O.! This stuff is WAY too orangey and dark for my fair skin. It's is also slick and shiny as heck and it transfers like nobody's business. I wore a white linen sun hat with this and when I took the hat off there was a brown ring around the inside of the brim (ugh). I'm so not joking when I say "brown"...this stuff is WAY too dark for my fair skin. I'm just wondering WHY Physicians Formula just up and decided not to make a shade of this that is suitable for us fair skinned peeps. Even if they did make this light enough for my skin, I still wouldn't like it. It's way too greasy for my oily skin. I'm glad some other people had success with this but this is an epic fail for me. On the plus side, I think the packaging is adorable. .

Lipstick -Maybelline - hot plum
glowing500 2/19/2013 4:55:00 PM
O.K. Maybelline....get cracking and make the entire Vivid line PERMANENT!!! These colors are way too gorgeous to be limited edition. Hot Plum is a gorgeous blue toned pink with sheen to it. When I think "plum", I think of a dark color and this is not dark at all...it's a super bright, happy color! It feels smooth on the lips and not overly drying or slick. I'm not sure why they peeps at Maybelline thought that this is a "plum" color. To me it's straight up PINK! The color itself is super saturated, so much so that it you swipe it on your hand, a slight stain will be left when you to wipe it off. The quality of these lippies on par with MAC, at a less than half the price. Maybelline and Revlon = GAME OVER as far as drugstore lippies are concerned. They are the BEST!

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Lipslicks - Demure
glowing500 2/18/2013 5:43:00 PM
These lip balms do not get enough love IMHO. Cover Girl does not promote these like they some of their other more popular products. If Pink or Drew Barrymore had full page ads in magazines promoting these balms, they would fly off the shelves. These balms are near perfect, I just wish they came in more colors. They are much more moisturizing than Revlon lip butters or L’Oreal Balms. I have quite a few of these but I like Demure the best. It’s a pretty, pinky, glossy balm. These can be worn alone or under lipsticks or glosses. This shade flatters my fair skin and gives my full but colorless lips some much needed, healthy looking color. I like to keep this in my desk at work, in my purse and in my car. I can apply it while driving & I don't need a mirror. I just slick it on and go. These are pretty and sheer, perfect for high school girls just starting out with makeup. I have a feeling these will be on their way out soon. It seems they have been around forever and you can only find them on the very, very bottom of the Cover Girl display. Stock up if you find these on sale!

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Coverall Cream Foundation
glowing500 2/8/2013 4:33:00 PM
I'm oily skinned and I love this stuff! I found it at CVS, hidden on a bottom shelf. Every time I've tried to buy this stuff it's been sold out. I'm not sure why CVS wants to hide it on the bottom shelf but I'm glad since I was able to snag a couple of tubes. I bought the lightest shade and the second lightest shade and mixed them together, I think the color selections tend to run dark so the next time I wear it I going to try just wearing the lightest shade. I would never consider this a "dewy" foundation. On me anyway, it's very, very matte, so much so that I might mix in some luminizer the next time I wear this product. This product also feels "dry" when I apply it. I have only used my fingers to apply it and I had to work quickly on one side of my face at a time since this product has a quick drying time. The coverage is pretty good. I still had to use a bit of concealer on a few red spots, but other than that it had great coverage. . This product lasted all day on my oily skin. I did have some oil breakthrough that I touched up at lunch time, but other than that, it lasted an entire work day. . Oily skinned ladies will love this foundation. It's not heavy or cakey but the finish may be too drying for those with dry skin. The price was dirt cheap. I think it was a little over $5.00 at CVS but all the major drug stores hold BOGO’s on Wet n Wild all the time. This is a major drug store gem for us oily skinned makeup addicts.

Lipstick -MAC - Candy Yum-Yum
glowing500 1/31/2013 5:08:00 PM
I guess Candy Yum Yum falls into the category of "MAC Urban Legend". I had heard so much about this lippie and every time I went to the MAC counter to get it, it was sold out. I ended up purchasing this on the MAC website, sight unseen. Crazy? Maybe. While I like this color, it IS a very matte and a VERY, VERY bright pink. YOU MUST wear a lip-gloss over this color; preferably something that is a little darker colored pink to done down the brightness of this lippie. If worn alone, this lipstick is something right out of a horror show or a Quentin Taratino movie. I got this in the mail last night, put it on, showed my hubs and prepared for the LOL'z to begin. He looked at me with horror in his eyes. I then swiped on a cheapo pinky gloss that I got from Forever 21 over Candy Yum Yum and suddenly I had pretty pink lips that flatter my light, cool coloring. Candy Yum Yum is wearable if you think of it as a bright, pink BASE for the lip look you are trying to achieve. It’s sort of like when you use an eye shadow base and then build your eye look from there using different colors. This is a bright, fun color that I will probably use more in the summer. I don't think I would repurchase it however, but I just LOVE the name!

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara
glowing500 1/30/2013 4:32:00 PM
I bought this because it's organic and because Glam Life Guru on You Tube raved about it...I mean, she just loves it! I bought it at CVS. It was over $10.00 but I got $7.00 CVS bucks back when I purchased it. The packaging is really cute; I love the shiny green tube. The product itself tends to flake a little bit. I was at Subway ordering lunch and then out of the blue it felt like two huge boulders fell into each of my eyes. For a minute I could not see anything, my eyes teared up and started to water. This is just o.k. mascara; it's not outstanding by any means. It plumps up my lashes but not to a great extent. Pros: Cute packaging, it's organic, it does a fair amount of thickening Cons: Pricey for drugstore, it flakes Flaking is a no-go for me since I wear contacts. I will use this up but I will not repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - MAC Pink Pigeon
glowing500 1/29/2013 12:17:00 PM
Pigeon Pink is a gorgeous bright matte pink. It's especially pretty with my cool, fair coloring. I try to avoid buying higher end makeup because I firmly believe that drugstore products are just as good and are often better than higher end products. I saw a co-worker who has the same coloring as me wearing this and I had to find out what she was wearing. I don't often ask people what lipstick they are wearing but I'm glad I asked her. I've bought a handful of MAC lipsticks in the past but I often stop at the counter to have a look see. I don't ever remember swatching this color but I often get over whelmed at the huge number or choices at the MAC counter. I've purchased Girl About Town in the past, which is a similar bright pink color. GAT has sort of a cult following and gets a lot of love on You Tube and on Makeup Alley. I thought it was strange that I had never even heard of Pigeon Pink before but I ordered it on the MAC website and I'm so glad I did. This lippie is matte so it tends to be drying. Using a lip balm underneath it is a must. I also top with a clear gloss. I just grab any clear gloss I have handy and I have a million of them. This lippie is a keeper and I can see myself buying it over and over again, it also has a yummy vanilla smell which I kind of like. For those of you who have never ordered from the MAC website before, I thought it was awesome & super easy. A few clicks and I had the product I was looking for. It saved me a trip to the mall and there is FREE SHIPPING on every order, no matter how small plus delivery was pretty quick. How great is that?

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational High Shine in Glisten Up Pink
glowing500 1/22/2013 12:36:00 PM
Glisten Up Pink is such a pretty blue based pink. It's perfect for anybody who is fair with cool coloring. My lips have ZERO natural color so this gives me a pretty but not OUT THERE look. It's a sheer lippie so it will not last forever, frequent touch ups are needed. This is smooth and sparkly on the lips, not drying at all. I've used this by alone or I've swiped it over matte long wear lipsticks to give them some shine. I bought this when it first came out and I just purchased it again for half off at CVS last night. Maybe this color is being discontinued? Maybelline is hit or miss but at the moment I'm loving the lip products from this brand.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
glowing500 1/17/2013 5:36:00 PM
I received this as a birthday bonus at Sephora last year. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this because this stuff is nothing special. It's like tinted chap stick...a VERY expensive tinted chap stick. I simply do not understand the hype about this product. It's waxy like chap stick. It smooth's my lips but so does a tube of chap stick I can get at the dollar store. The packaging is the pits as my lid does not snap on or stay on. I can't put it in my purse because I will end up with rosy colored lip balm all over my purse. Maybe I got a bad one but my tube also broke and I had to smash the rest of it back in the tube. I'm so happy I didn't pay the $22.50 for a tube of this stuff. It's not a BAD product. It's just a product that I can get at the dollar store or the drug store for a fraction of the price.
