Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

I love this mascara! I'm a bit of a mascara junkie & have got through endless tubes of them, but this is the first one which has really impressed me. It gives an amazing amount of volume which just builds & builds, with good length too. The only downside is that it dries out VERY quickly compared to others I've tried, and then doesn't work as well, so you need to buy another... which isn't great at this price! It also flakes a little towards the end of the day but nothing terrible. Saying this, it is the mascara I keep coming back to as nothing has come close to it yet!

no no no no no!!!!!!!!! I have naturally medium-dark blonde hair, I get it highlighted to brighten it up a bit - my highlights were starting to grow out so i thought i'd use this as a temporary fix until i saved up a bit more money to get it done properly - REGRETS!! At first it seemed to have done it's job beautifully, I was so excited as it really had sorted out my darker roots and lightened them dramatically with just one use. However, I noticed that when I was outside my roots were a lot lighter than the rest of my hair, so decided to do a quick spritz all over to make it vaguely the same colour. It was fine for a couple of weeks - but gradually started to go a very brassy orangey colour, despite using colour correcting shampoos/conditioners on it. The regrowth is now terrible, my hair is a LOT drier than it originally was (never had a problem with it before) and the colour is horrible!! All this with 2 uses, so glad I didn't continue with it as I hate to think what my hair would be like if I had done. Was SO embarrassing going to my hairdressers to admit what I'd done to it, will never touch this stuff again!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Light SPF10

i've been using this for a few days and so far it's the best foundation i've tried! i have dry rather than oily skin, but i've had a lot of trouble in the past with foundations sliding off my face or going patchy, no matter how much i moisturise / cleanse & tone. i've tried so many different "long lasting" ones, and found that the only one that would work was the (original) estee lauder double wear - BUT, it brought me out in a rash every time i used it - i'm guessing it was too drying for me :( so i just assumed that the light version would have the same affect on me - last week i was browsing the EL counter when a very friendly & helpful sales assistant started chatting to me - i told her all my previous problems & she promised me that this WOULD be different & that this WOULD work - and i'm easily persuaded so i said i'd give it a go. and so far - she's been right! i was surprised at how well this covered - it's a good medium to full coverage, but doesn't feel as thick and heavy when it's on as the original double wear - you can still see freckles etc underneath but it gives you a beautiful even finish. the shade range is a bit limited, but luckily for me intensity 1 is perfect for my skintone. i'm not so keen on the packaging - the plus side being that it's not breakable because its a squeezy tube, and easier to throw in a makeup bag than the big glass bottles - the minus side being that i like being able to see when i'm running out of product and i don't think i'll have much notice when this is running low. it's pricey for the amount of foundation you get, but i personally wouldn't mind paying that for such a high quality product after my years of searching for one like this. it definitely stays as long as promised, it survived an impulse visit to the gym & a hot sunny day and still looked as good at the end of the day as it had when i first applied it. lovelovelove this, i just hope that it continues to keep my skin happy so i don't have the same problems as i did with the original doublewear - i'd be gutted!

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]

I'm in love with this concealer! I have always had very dark circles under my eyes, and struggled for a long time to find a concealer which would help to disguise them - I tried many different brands & types of concealer, from the kind you find in Boots to the higher end brands like MAC, from the sticks to the light reflecting types, but nothing really worked - it either didn't seem to cover the circles at all or came off very quickly. This concealer was originally an impulse buy. I *HATE* the maybelline dream matte mousse foundation with a passion, so I didn't expect this concealer to be any good at all but thought it was worth a go. But I was very pleasantly surprised! This is the only concealer which actually covers the dark circles under my eyes - and it doesn't just attempt to cover them, it covers them WELL - you can't see them at all when I am wearing this. The concealers come in a wide range of colours, and there is one that matches my skin tone perfectly, which is great! They are easy to apply, and you only need to use the tiniest bit of product - the pots last forever. I really recommend this concealer - it's a lot cheaper than some of the ~fancier~ ones out there, and works so so well. Love it!

i part love / part hate this foundation! LOVE PART: after years and years of trying to find a long lasting one that works, a friend recommended i try this and i'm amazed at its staying power - it looks as good at the end of the day as it does when you first put it on, it never comes off on anything & doesn't fade or go patchy, i've never needed to use a powder with it. it's a high coverage foundation, but i don't think it looks "fake". it IS thick, so i don't think it'd be suitable for every day use for people with sensitive skin. what i really love about it is that it would cover any flaws - i have very dark circles under my eyes and when i'm using this foundation i don't even need a concealer, they can't be seen - which is incredible! the shade range is great, they have one which is my exact skintone. this foundation really WILL last forever - you need the tiniest amount to cover your face - so for this reason i don't think it's badly priced - it's not cheap, but for the quality & the length of time it will last, i think it's worth it. you do have to be careful when you apply it because it dries almost instantly, so you have to work on one section of your face at a time. HATE PART: for me personally, it brings me out in a rash when i use it, which i've never experienced from a foundation before. it used to be when i used it for 3 days in a row, but now happens if i use it once, so for that reason i can't use it other than for VERY special occasions. i've googled it & asked at the EL counters and apparently it's rare/unheard of - so unfortunately it must just be too drying for my skin (no matter how much i moisturise it :( ) but everyone i know personally who uses it has never had a problem. it would also be better if the packaging had a pump, because you really don't need much to cover your whole face and it would be more hygienic. but not really a biggie!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

I was so excited for this to come out - i'd heard a lot of good things and really wanted to love it, but i ended up being very disappointed! i'd say it was more of a sheer coverage than a medium/full. it really didn't last long on my skin, most of it was off within a couple of hours, and the remaining product looked patchy & horrible, and powder didn't make much difference to the staying power. at first (inside!) i didn't think the sparkles were going to be an issue, but as soon as i stepped outside i ended up looking like a cullen - there was nothing subtle about the sparkles and several people asked whether i was wearing glitter on my face which is never a good look. the only good thing about this is that it's nice that revlon have finally included a pump! won't be repurchasing this one!
