Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A

I love this product! I've suffered bad acne since I was 11... Yes, 11 years old! Retin A is derived from Vitamin A. It is a chemical exfoliant. Glycolic acid and salicylic acid are examples of chemical exfoliants. Physical exfoliants are scrubs. Now that I'm 23, my face has cleared with some occasional breakouts but my skin is dull and my pores are super enlarged. During exam wk (college) and my menstrual cycle, my acne will flare up around my nose, chin, or jaw line. After reading this very same product review on makeupalley, I spoke to my doc about it and received 3 refills worth of the 0.05% for $5. The first 3 months that I started using this, I somewhat half ass-ed my applications. I started using this in June. I used it every 3rd night, then skip a whole wk, then use it every other night for a wk, then I'd forget to put it on for another wk or 2. I didn't really want to use too much of the product because I live in California, and during the summer time, our temperature goes up to the 110 degree range and I didn’t want to risk getting a chemical burn because I get sunburned easily. During those 3 months, I noticed that my skin looked dehydrated, even duller, and the dry skin look did not help the wrinkles under my eyes. Only once out of those 3 months did I notice that my skin was flakey. But it was just slightly flakey... nothing dramatic or gross. Now, in my 4th month, I finally started using it every night and the tube is half way done. Even though it's still in the 100 degrees at where I live, I decided to use my winter moisturizer. Now my skin looks plump and amazing! I used it under my eyes and my lines have dramatically become less noticeable. Even my crow's foot on my left eye, due to driving, has been less noticeable. The size of my pores has decreased. I wondered why my skin is so tolerant to the product; I was expecting the worse side effects: peeling, purging, etc. However, I didn’t suffer any of those things, probably because I used to use glycolic acid, so my skin is probably used to chemical exfoliants. I started using this cream on my chest and back a few days ago. (Yes, I break out horribly on my back and chest!) Now, I noticed that my chest and back are a lot smoother. FYI, my skincare routine is consists of nighttime: Cerave foam cleanser, Retin A, and crème de La Mer. Morning: Cerave foam cleanser, Clinique moisturizing gel, Shiseido sunscreen SPF 50. I noticed that Retin A has helped my skin so much that I cut down the amount of products that I used to buy. That definitely saved me a lot of money. Be careful not to use other chemical exfoliants when you’re using Retin A.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion For Face & Body, spf 60 PA+++
glamourjenny 7/8/2012 8:56:00 PM
I'm a huge Shiseido suncare buff! I've used all of the sunscreen creams, lotions, and foundation. I miss the old SPF 55 and I thought that this one could replace it but I find that this one leaves a white cast compared to all the other other Shiseido sunscreen. However, it's the only one high enough to protect my skin. Skin dullness doesn't come back anymore but I'm tired of friends and family asking me why I'm so pale when I use this product. Not to mention, this lotion doesn't have much oil control as much as the creams. I kind of have mixed feelings about this product.

I love this product! I use it as a hand cream, lotion, and it's great for treating a sunburn! It leaves my skin super soft and I love the smell. It's light and creamy. I have nothing negative to say about this product except I wish it doesn't come in a jar because I'm a germaphobe.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Absolute Total BB Cream
glamourjenny 11/20/2011 4:00:00 PM
I ordered mine off ebay for only $12. I'm an NC30 and the cream was fine on me. I usually get oily after a few hours after a shower but I slapped this on after a shower when I get ready and suprisingly, it didn't budge all night. I've fallen asleep with this cream on from the previous day and all I can say is "Wow!" My skin still looks great. Best bb cream. Updated: I got tanner and this BB cream makes me look grey! Yuck! I reccommend Dior's BB Cream!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation

Pros: - love how it looks natural and fresh in person - found my perfect shade (MAC NC30 --> 118 for winter/120 spring) Cons: - looks like i have no foundation in photos ---> makes my face look patchy and dirty, reveals all my imperfections Won't purchase again because I'm a model and I want to look great in photos. I only wear makeup to take photos in.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Intensive Moisture Balance

I received a couple days worth of samples and I fell in love. My skin was soft, well hydrated, and healthy looking... especially my eye area! I used to use Clinique moisturizers and Shiseido eye cream but I loved this moisturizer way more. Love this moisturizer more than Cream De La Mer.

Treatments -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Serum

I love this serum because I get a lot of sun spots that sit on top of my cheek bones. After a week, I've noticed that my sun spots dramatically was almost done fading away. I don't think that it helps with scaring or freckles but it helps with sun-damaged skin. Love, love, love!

Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Studio Moisture Tint SPF15

It doesn't moisturize, nor even out my skin a slightly bit. Returned it. It's pretty much useless. It broke me out for the first time in 5 years.

Toners -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Toner
glamourjenny 3/3/2010 7:22:00 PM
I like this toner but sometimes there is a burning sensation because of the niacin. But after using it for a while, I noticed that my face flushes throughout the day. Maybe because of the niacin, because niacin does make the body flush when taken internly. I don't like the fact that it leaves my face shiny and gets my skin more oily throughout the day. I've used this product for a year.

Shampoo -Aveeno - Nourish + Soothe
glamourjenny 2/7/2010 6:18:00 PM
The first three months that I used this product, I was in love. But I couldn't help but notice my scalp getting dry and itchy, yet, hair is getting oily. I thought it's because my skin was adapting from California weather to the midwest's. Then, yesterday I used this shampoo to clean my makeup brushes and I woke up this morning with my left hand all peeling (like I've spent hours doing the dishes with my left hand.) I remember that used my right hand to handle the brushes and use the left palm to smear the shampoo and brushes. It makes sense that this shampoo is what has been causing my scalp to flake, itch, and break out. Beware of this product ladies. You don't want to have scratch your head in middle of the night because it itches so much. So disappointed in this product. And I thought I found my HG shampoo.

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Retractable Kabuki Brush
glamourjenny 1/9/2010 11:13:00 PM
I love this brush! I travel a lot and was skeptical about getting this brush. It works great with my MAC Blot Powder, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, and my liquid foundation. I prefer using it with my liquid foundation because the bristles are synthetic and extremely soft. I prefer this brush over my MAC face brushes.

This product is horrible. It's too heavy and hard to style hair. Doesn't make my hair shiny.
