Lotions/ Creams -Sally Hansen - Just for Feet Deep Callus Remover (blue gel)
rated 1 of 5

Do not waste your money on this product. It does not work. I followed the directions and noticed no change in my heels. Another time I applied the product then used a foot file/pumice stone on my heels. The results were the same as when I use a foot file and no product. I tried this product quite a few time (I have about a 1/4 of the bottle left) and notice the same thing each time. So save your money and just use a foot file/pumice stone.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 4 of 5

After receiving 2 tubes of another brand of moisturizer with a funky smell, I decided to give this a try. I have oily skin and do not use this every day. In the summer I don't use it at all. In the winter I use it almost daily. It does great for my oily skin. It doesn't cause breakouts, for me. I have and will repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -Curel - Life's Stages for Pregnancy & Motherhood
rated 1 of 5

I am pregnant. I received a tube of this free in the mail. I'm glad I didn't buy it. I hate this lotion. It's very waxy and does not seem to soak into the skin very well. (Maybe it's my weird pregnant skin, who knows) The one plus is it has a nice smell. I would not buy this lotion.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Projectionist High Definition Volume Mascara
rated 1 of 5
gingerc 4/25/2008 10:28:00 AM

I received this as a GWP. At first I thought it was a good mascara. It seemed to coat my lashes nicely, made them look great and not spidery. BUT then the weather started to change from cold to warm. As the weather became warmer I started to notice smudging. I then went on vacation to the humid beach. Using this mascara in the humidity was a disaster! It smeared as soon as I went outside. It gets very humid where I live in the summer, so this mascara is not for me.

Mascara -Clinique - high definition lashes
rated 1 of 5
gingerc 12/13/2007 9:07:00 AM

I received this as a GWP. This is the worst mascara I've tried in recent years. First the product its self smudges after only a few hours of wear. It can also be clumpy when applying. Second the brush is terrible! This brush is a combination brush and comb. The theory behind it sounds intriguing (coat lashes with brush, then comb), but it doesn't work. My eyes are on the small side and this brush is too awkward to get into the corners of my eyes without poking my skin. The only good thing about this mascara is that it is easy to remove. I would not buy this mascara and my GWP has gone in the trash. Save yourself some money and don't buy this mascara.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Eye Shadow
rated 4 of 5
gingerc 11/19/2007 10:28:00 AM

It's very hard to find true matte eye shadows. I love that Bobbi Brown has many choices when it comes to matte eye shadow colors. I like that each color is purchased individually. They pots are large and will last a long time, even with daily use. When applying I do get some flakes on my cheeks, as others below have stayed. But they are easily wiped off with a makeup sponge and my makeup is not disturbed. I own several Bobbi Brown eye shadows and will repurchase more in the future.

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Moisture Gel
rated 4 of 5
gingerc 11/19/2007 10:16:00 AM

I have oily skin. In the summer I need no moisturizer. But come fall/winter I need a little something. The Skin Balancing Moisture Gel does a great job on my skin. I use a little after my morning shower (about an hour before I put on my makeup). I've not noticed anything negative about this moisturizer. If you have oily skin give it a try. Paula's Choices sells samples.

Lotions/ Creams -Basin - Sun Butter Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
gingerc 11/19/2007 10:10:00 AM

While on vacation at Disney World, I love to shop the Basin store. This trip I noticed they had a new body butter, Sun Butter. Basin says that this body butter is for after sun and to help sooth sunburn. But I say that this is a great moisturizer for anytime. The Ingredients:Water, Coca butter, Procol CS-20-D, Coconut Oil, Shea butter, Glycerin, Fragrance, Germaben II, Emu Oil, Calendula Oil, Aloe Vera Oil, Kukkui Nut Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil. As with most body butters, the Sun Butter comes in a tub. This is the best body butter I have purchased. (I like it a lot better than The Body Shop). The Sun Butter sinks into the skin and is not greasy. Anything moisturizing but not greasy gets an A in my book.

Shampoo -Basin - Macaroon Shampoo Bar
rated 4 of 5
gingerc 11/19/2007 10:02:00 AM

I've always been scared to try a shampoo bar. I had fears of the bars being hard to rinse, leaving my hair looking horrible, etc. After trying a Basin Shampoo Bar, I will admit that I was WRONG!!! On a recent trip to Disney World, I bought a few things from the Basin store, including 2 shampoo bars. I really like the shampoo bar. It was easy to use, just pass it over the hair a few times and it will produce a ton of lather. The shampoo bar rinses out easily and does not leave a buildup on my hair or shower. There's nothing special in the shampoo bar as far as ingredients. But it gets my hair clean. My husband likes the shampoo bar too. I would buy another shampoo bar. I think it would be great for travel. You would not have to worry about liquids while flying.

Bath Treatments -Basin - Bliss Bath Bomb
rated 3 of 5
gingerc 11/5/2007 11:41:00 AM

This is a very average bath bomb. You are essentially buying fragrance and baking soda. I would not go out of my way to purchase this bath bomb (or any other brand for that matter). But if you are vacation at Walt Disney World and want a souvenir to bring home, then I recommend a bath bomb from Basin. They are affordable and easy to pack in your luggage. When you get home and use it you can relive the memories of your Disney vacation.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
rated 4 of 5
gingerc 11/5/2007 11:38:00 AM

Cetaphil Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin does a great job of keeping my skin clean and clear. I do use a makeup remover before washing my face. I want to make sure every last trace of makeup is gone. Cetaphil is cheap and the bottle lasts a long time. After years of searching for my HG cleaner, I've found it with Cetaphil Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin.

When I decided to add a BHA product to my routine, I started wtih Paula's Choice 1% gel. This was fine for winter. When the weather warmed I switched to the 2% gel. I like the 2% gel. I think it does a great job of exfoliating my oily skin. My skin seems to be clear. I use this at night. I have and will repurchase.

rated 5 of 5
gingerc 11/5/2007 11:30:00 AM

In my teens/early 20's I was a life guard. I have some sun damage that has caused the skin to seem "thick". I use Paula's Choice 8% AHA on those areas and can really tell a difference. I use this nightly. If you are in the market for a great AHA product, give this a try. I will repurchase.

Lips -Ocean Potion - Ocean Potion Lip Potion SPF45
rated 5 of 5
gingerc 5/22/2007 9:28:00 AM

I spend a lot of time outside and needed a new lipbalm with SPF. It seems that most lipbalms do not contain UVA and UVB protection. I went to the store intending to buy another brand of lipbalm. They didn't sell it, so I bought Ocean Potion Lip Potion SPF 45. I think it was $1.83. It contains broad-spectrum protection, so that's a big plus. Most lip balms don't. I just wish Ocean Potion listed ALL of the ingredients. In addition to containing Parsol 1789/avobenzone, it contains Aloe Vera and "other" moisturizing ingredients. Who knows what "other" means? The package says it's water resistant I tried the Ocean Potion out while kayaking on a local lake. Seemed to work fine, was moisturizing. It smells good, like orange/vanilla. I'll buy this again.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Salon Grafix Shaping Hairspray
rated 5 of 5
gingerc 2/15/2007 4:04:00 PM

Since Sebastian Shaper Plus changed, I have been on a quest to find a new HG hairspray. I've tried many. But I think I have found my new HG. I LOVE the Salon Grafix Shaping Hairspray. I bought the one with GREEN writing, extra hold. It provides a good hold, but is not stiff. It brushes out and does not leave any residue. And the price is dirt cheap! I've seen it from $3-$7 per can. Try this hairspray, I think you will like it.
