I have tried so many foundations because I have some natural redness in my face and some acne spots to cover up. I think I have found my HG which is Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H. I love it because it not only provides good coverage but is long wearing and looks so natural, like my skin only better. It also comes with a pump. The color match is just about perfect with my NW20 face, but my neck is about a NC15-20. I look for a foundation that will blend and give me a good color match with my face and neck so that is not always easy to find. The shade 140N is a perfect match for me.
I use baking soda as a dry shampoo and it works better than any spray product that I have purchased at absorbing oil. It's also much less expensive. I put the baking soda in a jar, and apply it with a fluffy powder brush to various areas of my scalp. I try to apply it at night to avoid a white cast the next day, but I usually don't have a white cast if I rub well. Voila, gets rid of the oil. Also adds volume to my hair.
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Caresse Shine Stain / Shine Caresse

If I could I would give this product a 4.5 rating. The products scores the highest for the color selection. The pinks are gorgeous, and there are about 4-5 shades that I have tried so far that are MLLB. Not nude pinks, not bright or garish, but soft and pretty, nice for a daytime look. I like 182, 183, 184, 185 and 191. I do find 185 a tiny bit on the dark side for me, but its still ok. 182 is practically the same color as my lips, but if I apply more than once, it looks better, I get more pigmentation. 182=pink perserverance, 183=pink resistance, 184=rose on and on, 185=lilac ever after, 191=stubborn plum So far, they have not dried out my lips. The only downside is the lasting power is not all that great, I find I have to reapply after two or three hours. My lips do feel moisturized however while I am wearing the products. Overall, I am very pleased with the lip stain and plan to repurchase.
Gels/Soaps -Pacifica - Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash

This has turned out to be one of my favorite body washes. Not only the body wash, I also love the roller ball and reed diffuser. It smells fruity and just like fresh oranges, not artifical. I wish it lasted longer, none of these products last very long. They are not too expensive, but I feel I will go through them quickly. I love the packaging and design, so cute, and that they all natural. I love the reed diffuser on my bedstand at night, so relaxing!
Fragrances -Pacifica - Hawaiian Ruby Guava Spray Perfume

This has turned out to be one of my favorites perfumes. Not only the perfume, I also love the body wash, body butter, reed diffuser, and solid fragrance also. It smells fruity and tropical like being in a tropical garden in Hawaii. I wish it lasted longer, none of these products last very long. They are not too expensive, but I feel I will go through them quickly. I love the pink packaging and design, so cute, and that they all natural. I love to spray the perfume on my linens at night before bed, so relaxing!
Concealers -Giorgio Armani - high precision retouch

I think this is an ok concealer. Considering the reviews, I was expecting it to knock my socks off and it didn't. :( My favorite concealer is currently Estee Lauder Double Wear layered over Bobbie Brown Corrector in Bisque. I have really bad dark circles. I need something that does the job. But even using both of those products together, I still have some darkness under my eyes, so I'm always looking for something better.
This brush came in the kit. When I first saw this brush I thought it was too big for a concealer brush and I didn't use it for a long time. I started using it for eye shadow, and then one day tried it for concealer. It is amazing for concealer, it is so soft, and do a fantastic job of blending and applying concealer, especially a softer type concealer, like for under the eyes. I love it better than my MAC concealer brush, which does not feel as soft, and feels too small to me now. I would definitely like to purchase a backup of this brush.
Liquid -Boots - Lifting & Firming Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]

This foundation works really great for me and I find myself reaching for it daily because it is a great color match, and it covers my red marks well. I am a NW 20 in the face and a NC15-20 in the neck and I purchased the Vanilla shade. The texture is a nice satin finish. I like to go with a more yellow foundation to counteract the redness in my face to match my neck and I have a lot of acne scars and the yellow foundations help to minimize those. This foundation lasts pretty much all day. I do need to wear a bit of concealer to cover some scarring. The only downside is lately it seems a bit difficult to blend with my flat foundation brush. I like that it has a pump dispenser and I need just about one pump to cover my whole face so it is very economical so it should last a long time. The bottle also has a very tight cap which is great for travel. I plan to repurchase.

Well, this product works great for me. I had purchased it about a year ago on ADC website but I was concerned about credit card fraud so I bought a Visa one time use green dot card and paid a $ 4.95 fee at Walgreens and the card was declined. So it did not work, I’m not sure why, maybe ADC is not taking the cards, I did activate it before use and waited several hours. I went ahead and purchased 4 bottles since it has a long expiration date and hope that I don’t have any issues. By the way, I ran out of this product several months ago and my lashes are now back to their previous short length. I can't wait for my order to come in so they go back to the gloriously long lashes I had before :)
Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)

I wish this was not limited edition. I have two backups of this now, as I just purchased one on Ebay. This lovely blush is the only one I have ever owned that does not oxidize on my face, every blush I have ever owned turned orange after a short time, period. Not only that, it will last a very long time, I only need to tap my powder blush into the container lightly two or three times and apply, and voila, I have the most lovely flushed natural looking cheeks. I am NW20. I hope Mac brings this back.
I primarily shop when they have their semi-annual sales, so I can buy their classic and discontinued scents and get good deals at up to 75% off. I can't wear regular parfum because of allergies but I am ok with B&BW body mists and splashes. My current favorite body scents are Sheer Freesia (which doesn't last very long), Coconut Lime Verbena for the summer and Warm Vanilla Sugar for the winter. Some other body scents that are nice are Pearberry and Lemongrass and Sage. I have also found that I have purchased a few that I liked initially, then I got sick of very quickly like the True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Fragrance Mist and Body Lotion, smells too much like buttercream frosting. I also really liked the Cotton Blossom a lot at first, but now I find it too strong smelling. I also enjoy the wallflowers in vanilla bean noel and warm vanilla sugar for the winter. For candles I enjoy the Eucalyptus Spearmint aromatherapy and I also like the Sparkling Mojito room spray but find it doesn't last very long. From what I understand they have a great return policy, so if you don't like it, they will take it back, no questions asked.
Liquid -Clinique - Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology
gina2328 2/4/2011 8:37:00 AM
I am in love with this foundation. When I apply this with a foundation brush it looks like my skin but better, very natural, not masklike at all. I am NW20 and my shade is Alabaster which is a good match. The coverage is medium. The packaging is nice, it is a squeeze tube. I found out about this foundation after I watched a Youtube video by Lisa Eldridge about the best foundation for acne. She likes to use this one because it is the most "natural looking" foundation. Then in the video she used a Vichy Dermablend foundation as concealer on the acne spots and scars. Instead, I use the MUFE 5 Camouflage Cream Palette for concealer, which I dab on my spots. So, this is currently a HG foundation for me along with Estee Lauder Double Wear which I like for full coverage, but I find the Estee Lauder finish is not as natural looking.
I bought this product and then I found out it was not big three free so I returned it. It worked well the two times I used it but I prefer not to be exposed to carcinogenic ingredients. I am going to try Sinful colors base/top coats and Zoya base/top coats to see how those work. I believe those are five free. Will not repurchase.
I sprayed the tester on myself at Sephora because I like the original Paris parfum. There was a bad reaction with this EDT and my body chemistry. The smell was something like a cross between cat urine and ammonia. Unfortunately, some of it got on my coat and I could smell it everytime I wore my coat. I was really surprised at the bad chemical reaction, this has never happened before.
Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup
gina2328 11/30/2010 7:59:00 AM
I think this foundation deserves a five star rating. The reason being it is comparable and actually better than most department store foundations I have tried recently. I have tried Estee Lauder Double Wear, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Guerlain, Mac, Chantecaille, Cover FX, and others. I wear Nude Beige 146 and that matches my NW20 perfectly. I like the fact there is a pump and you can even measure out 1/2 or 1/3 of a pump to save product. Coverage is medium to full and I find that it covers my acne scars and age spots fairly well. The EL Double Wear covers a little bit better, but this foundation has a more natural, skin like finish. It pretty much lasts a 10 hour day, but since I have combination skin, I do have to blot and powder my T-zone. I plan to keep on buying this foundation, unless something better were to come along that provides better coverage (I don’t like to use concealer on spots if I can help it) along with the Double Wear.
