Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lashliner in Suede
gimme_chocolate 12/31/2009 7:00:00 PM
I don't know if this conditions my lashes or not but I love it as an eyeliner. It's very creamy and easy to apply. You do have to be careful to make sure it's dry before you, say, turn your head to watch what's on the TV behind you. I hope BE adds some more colors to this line and I will definitely repurchase.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Eggplant
gimme_chocolate 12/30/2009 8:37:00 PM
I can't believe the quality of this "cheap" eyeliner! The color is a deep saturated plum color and it lasts all day. It goes on very smooth and creamy and dries fairly quickly. I've used gel liners from Bobbi Brown, Clinique, MAC, Stila and Jane and this is right at the top of my list. MAC is my second favorite and Bobbi Brown comes in third. Like other reviewers I wish there were more colors to choose from but you can't beat this for the price.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara - Black Pearl
gimme_chocolate 3/9/2009 5:40:00 PM
I really like this mascara even though I can't really tell that it "brightens" my eyes much. It goes on smoothly and doesn't clump on me. It's a shinier, glossier mascara than I normally use and I really like that. I'm not sure that any mascara can brighten really dark brown eyes but I like this is a nice basic mascara and I will definitely repurchase.

Eyeliner -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner-Dark Brown 01
gimme_chocolate 3/9/2009 5:33:00 PM
This is a great alternative to the more expensive gel eyeliners. I love MAC Fluidlines and Bobbi Brown but I can't really afford them now. I got this at Walgreen's with a BOGO - what a great deal!!! I'd like to see this in a slightly lighter brown but I have no complaints with this eyeliner. I'll definitely repurchase.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
gimme_chocolate 1/31/2009 6:51:00 PM
This seems to keep my shadow looking more like it's supposed to at the end of the day than other primers I've tried. Even though you only need a little, it does take it a little while to dry so that it doesn't crease. I have a little discoloration under one eyebrow and have to use a small amount of concealer under it before I apply this. I didn't have to apply concealer when I used MAC eye primer but then my e/s didn't look as good for as long as it does with this primer, either.

Blush -Estee Lauder - BlushLights 'Honeyshimmer'
gimme_chocolate 3/6/2008 7:37:00 PM
I love this stuff! I purchased it because of the great reviews here when I was looking for an alternative to the BE Warmth, which can sometimes show up too much on my winter face. When it came in the mail I was so excited and then I opened the package. Hmmmm. The color didn't look very spectacular in the compact and when I ran my finger over it it still didn't look overly attractive. But I tried putting it on with a bare minerals brush (thinking it was a powder) and it really highlighted my cheekbones and all the areas where you would normally see some color or highlight on your face. It's very subtle and soft and doesn't scream, "HIGHLIGHT!!!" or "SHIMMER!!!". It actually took me several months to discover that it was a cream! Ha! It goes on so smoothly - just like a powder - and dries to a velvet-like finish that I didn't realize until I ran my finger across it (for the 2nd time) that it wasn't a powder at all. I will definitely repurchase!

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre - Honeyflower [DISCONTINUED]
gimme_chocolate 11/19/2007 7:01:00 PM
Honeyflower is one of my staples, along with Viva Glam V. I don't like highly pigmented lipsticks and this gives a little shot of color with lots of shine. I don't know why but I don't like lipsticks that jump out & bite you (on myself - I think they look great on other people). This could be due to the fact that I wear so much eye makeup. ;-)

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
gimme_chocolate 8/5/2007 3:12:00 PM
The wand in this mascara has got to come from the imagination of someone who's had a few too many Harvey Wallbangers! At first I thought it was broken because it bends where the brush attaches to the wand and the brush itself flexes and bends. Then I realized that this was probably the way it was meant to be by some wacko at Maybelline. The brush is very weird but can be workable for a few days until the mascara starts to dry a little and then you can wiggle the thing all you want and it will NOT go through your lashes! It just goes bendy~bendy~bendy and you can't pull it through! Imagine putting your mascara on with a wet noodle and you'll know what it's like to use this wand. Definitely WILL NOT repurchase this wet-noodle-squiggle-wand mascara!!!

Eye Primer -MAC - Prep + Prime Eye
gimme_chocolate 7/10/2007 11:24:00 AM
I used to use Benefit Lemon-Aid but my eyelids started looking a little too yellow and weird. MAC Prep & Prime Light is what I use every day now and I like it much better. I dust lightly with powder after I apply and this keeps my eyeshadow from creasing during the day.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy - Root Touch Up
gimme_chocolate 5/26/2007 12:07:00 PM
I use this in the Light Auburn shade. I pay $65 every 4 weeks for a professional cut & color but when my roots begin to show after 3 weeks, I reach for this product. It's expensive but I only have to use it 3 or 4 times a year. The brush is pretty crappy. It's real stiff and I feel like I'm putting the product on and taking it off at the same time. It'd be nice to have a softer application brush. The color matches my pro color and it does cover the gray so I'm happy with that.

Bronzers -Colorescience - Smoothster - Wild to Mild

My dermatologist recommended this product to me after I had some microdermabrasion and a light chemical peel. She put some on my face before I left the office (thank God!) and gave me some sample sizes to take home. OMG!!! I couldn't believe how it covered so much of the residual hyperpigmentation and the little broken capillaries in my cheeks! Absolutely amazing! And it feels like velvet going on my skin. I've been wearing a full coverage foundation for several years and today I went to work with this instead. I was afraid at first to use only this product (you know those nightmares where you show up for work naked?) but this actually makes my skin look better than my foundation does. I sent my DH back to the Dr's office today to pick up the full size. This will definitely be a staple for me.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Volume Exact [DISCONTINUED]
gimme_chocolate 5/15/2007 11:56:00 AM
I love the brush on this mascara. It helps to keep clumps from forming on my lashes but I still have to use a lash brush sometimes. Overall, this is my favorite mascara (for the moment).

Fragrances -Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
gimme_chocolate 5/9/2007 9:24:00 AM
I love the fresh, clean, minty fragrance of this and I'd bathe in it if I could! The only problem is that even after I drench myself in this in the morning, by 10:00 am I can't tell that I have it on. It doesn't last for more than a couple of hours on me. I really wish it would because it's a wonderful scent but because it doesn't, I won't buy it again. :-(

Lipstick -Cargo - Plant Love-Killarney
gimme_chocolate 4/11/2007 9:09:00 PM
This color turned into the most horrible shade of eye-shattering coral on me. It's probably just my funky skin chemistry but I'm returning it to Sephora in exchange for more Guerlain KissKiss lipstick. Packaging is nice & earth friendly, though.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Architect Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
gimme_chocolate 12/29/2006 8:39:00 PM
This was the absolute WORST mascara I've ever tried. When I pulled the wand out of the tube, I found the gloppiest, goopyest mess on the end. And that's the way it goes on your lashes. YUK!
