Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride
gigglemommy 3/21/2009 12:40:00 AM
I don't like blush. Every time i put it on i get flashbacks of 1985's lurid streaks of hot pink disaster. As a result i am blush-stupid and usually avoid it. My friend Nikki talked me into picking this up, and i'm so glad she did! it's the perfect sheer wash of color- just enough to give me a nice natural flush, without looking like i'm about to die of consumption. I dab it on the apples of my cheeks with a cosmetic wedge, then blend lightly with my fingers. Absolute HG for me, one of the few things i will repurchase over and over. for reference i'm pale, warm, and have light freckles.

Treatments (Eye) -Avon - Anew Retroactive Eye Serum [DISCONTINUED]
gigglemommy 1/6/2009 10:40:00 PM
ok so i can see why people think this might just be water, it has that consistancy. However, it actually is a pretty good moisturizer! it doesn't really do much to brighten my under-eye area, but it keeps the skin nice and hydrated throughout the day. It's simple, it sinks in quickly, if i were younger and not fighting crow's feet so hard, this would be great because it sinks right in and makeup applies beautifully over it :) I found mine on ebay for a song, btw :)

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Feria Color Moisturizing Treatment.
gigglemommy 1/5/2009 9:56:00 AM
i wish this stuff came in litre bottles! I picked it up at Sally for an after-color treatment, i now use it once a week as a deep conditioner. It leaves my hair so shiny it looks like i've had a glossing treatment! i have long, fine hair that's easily damaged, this has worked wonders to keep the frizz and split ends at bay. i don't apply it to my scalp unless i'm coloring though, because i think it would give me the oilies. i love it so much i bought a tube for my SIL's naturally curly, dry, frizzy hair and she is over the MOON for it. She has shine in her hair for the first time since i've met her, and she's amazed that she can run her fingers through her hair now. AWESOME!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes
gigglemommy 1/4/2009 2:37:00 PM
ok, i don't know what's up. it seems like if MUA hates something it is going to work fabulously for me. This mascara is a perfect example...i was going to resist but the temptation of no more flakies in my eyes and easy removal were too much for me. i caved. for reference i have very short, mousy blonde, silky lashes. nothing likes to stick to them, i've never had a mascara do much more than darken them for me, and i *always* end up with little pieces of them flaking off into my eye by the end of the day. I have tried just about every drugstore mascara available and i've dipped my toe into the department store brands. (Lashblast was gorgeous but the first time my eyes watered i was in agony). I switched to waterproof mascaras to prevent this but even some of those flake off, and i noticed my lashes were getting thinner with prolonged use so i just decided i would have to suffer for beauty and went back to the regular. Beauty tubes give me LASHES! noticable, thick, black sexy lashes! i've never had this before, the closest i can say i've had were from the regular L'oreal double extend but even those weren't this noticeable and it flaked on me. they even CURL! i decided to give them a big test by leaving it on overnight...NO FLAKING. no redness. no stinging. afreakingmazing. i love the little tubes when i remove it, no more mascara smears under my eyes when i get out of the shower, despite my best efforts to remove cleanly. i had wanted to try the fiberwig, now i'm only tempted because of the silly name ;) *edited to add that it just lasted through Love Actually without running. Amazing!

I love the moisturizing, non sticky formula and the shade is shimmery a muted warm brick color on me. Not too bright, not too dark, perfect for day wear. It seems to brighten my pale complexion when i wear it :)

Treatments (Eye) -Chanel - Sublimage Eye
gigglemommy 9/27/2008 10:46:00 AM
i recieved sample of this from a dear friend, and i have to say i was impressed by the results within the first couple of days. This seriously bums me out, because there's no friggin way i'm dropping $175 on an eye cream when i run out. i had firmly convinced myself that the drugstore skincare was just as good as the dept. store brands if you knew what to look for. *sigh* One thing i will say that i found odd, is that it smells EXACTLY like Resinol (diaper cream) to me. i even made the dh and son do the sniff test and they agreed (but gave me the crazy eyes for asking). the consistancy of the two are vastly different, but it makes me wonder if they contain some of the same active ingredients.

Polishes -OPI - Ghostess With The Mostest
gigglemommy 9/27/2008 1:49:00 AM
SWEEEEEEEEEEEET! finally a glow-in-the-dark polish that isn't super sheer! GWTM is an opaque white creme that glows very brightly with only a few seconds of a charge. It's a little thick which makes it kind of difficult to apply without streaks, but it's completely worth the effort. It even glows in shadow! I took a lippie off because for some reason OPI has made this one difficult to find and the dh had to resort to evilbay, but the polish itself is too freakin' cool. I keep going into rooms, turning off all of the lights and wiggling my fingers. the family is going to lock me up fo sho :p

Polishes -NYX - Rainbow Sparkle
gigglemommy 7/2/2008 12:03:00 PM
Rainbow Sparkle is a beatiful red, blue, silver, and a teensy bit of gold microfine glitter in a VERY sheer purple base. The purple is not very buildable, but does tint the polish underneath, making it deeper. This polish is amazing layered over blue, red, or black for the 4th of july :)

You have to love peachy polishes to love this shade...and i do! The peach has a beautiful shell pink undertone to it, preventing it from having the hard orange edge or yellowish cast alot of peaches end up with. the gold shimmer sends it over the top for me, it's delicate and minutely sparkley :D i think this color would be a hard one for anyone with cooler tones to pull off, but it's perfect for neutral to warmies :D Application- it has almost a fluffy texture that can be a problem if you try to rework an area on your nail before it dries..resist the urge to fix streakies when they are wet because it levels out as it dries. i needed 3 coats for opacity. it takes a little longer to dry than OPI or ChG, but ends up with an impossibly glossy sheen. I have been looking for this peach since i was around 12 yrs old or so, it kicks every other peach in my collex's ARSE ;)

well dang. for the first couple of weeks this made my hair look amazing, but then the itching started. holy-crap-did-the-kids-bring-home-headlice from school kind of itching. and flaking, and i never get dandruff! i'm seriously bummed, because it really did work miraculous things on my frizzy, damaged ends. *sigh*

oh thank GOD. i have been searching for something for my KP that wasn't priced in the ridiculous range ever since i stopped finding my HG Neutrogena Bump Relief at the drugstore. I have been shelling out the cash for the stuff from dermadoctor, but would end up not using it because i didn't want to run out and have to make my CC cry again. LOL! Anyway, this stuff isn't cheap, it's $15 bucks a bottle at CVS..but oh my dang. it works! i've been using it for a week, and my disgusting, chicken skinned, rough and icky arms and legs (and..uh...erm..backside) are smooth as silk. red marks are fading, clogged pores are clearing, my dh can't stop touching my skin. i'm a happy little camper, and i'll be buying this until TPTB discover i have another HG and discontinue it ;)

Lip Gloss -MAC - Glamour O.D. Dazzleglass
gigglemommy 5/15/2008 9:00:00 AM
Ok, this is hot. i am a warm toned pale redhead with really pale lips and i wasn't sure i was going to be able to carry off the pink sparkle in this...but dude. the coral is sheer but not non-existant. it makes my lips look full and healthy, and the sparkle isn't disco-ball or gritty..but smooth and sexy and interesting. i am so in love i think i might have to get 2 or 3 more shades. love the texture, pretty good wear for a gloss, and i would hock a kidney for a brick colored dazzleglass with copper sparkle :p

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Volume Seduction Plumping Gloss
gigglemommy 5/2/2008 7:14:00 AM
Well i just love this. I bought the peachy shade as it was the warmest shade they offered, but i expected to have to put some lipstick on underneath due to my lightly pigmented lips. Not necessary with this! It gives a nice healthy glow, the texture isn't sticky, it smells divine, and my lips really do look a little fuller. compared to some of the other plumping glosses i've tried, the tingling in this is nothing...a very slight sensation. i will buy this over and over, and i hope they get more warm toned shades eventually :)

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Podiatrist's Secret Total Foot Recovery Cream
gigglemommy 3/13/2008 12:45:00 PM
(orange cap) This stuff is AMAZING! i have very rough feet that tend to crack, and my cuticles and the skin around my nails tends to harden and build up if i don't take after it constantly with cuticle remover and belt sander :p This stuff saves me so much work! it contains Lactic Acid and Urea, which exfoliate and soften old calluses. i have been putting it on right after i shower daily, and my feet feel and look incredible! i still have to use my microplane on the weird callus i get on my big toes, but not nearly as often and it smooths down the rough skin left underneath. I'm most happy about the skin around my toes that's too difficult to file..the hard little corners are gone and my toenails even appear brighter white. the downside, it smells bad. the fragrance dissapates quickly, but it smells like burnt tires or something. if it didn't i'd use it as a handcream too :( i do still put it on under cotton gloves for a treatment sometimes, and it just dissolves the hard skin around my nails on my hands too. if i could bear the smell and used it daily i'm sure i wouldn't have to fuss with cuticle remover or hangnails very much at all. i found this at Sally Beauty for 5 bucks and change for a 4 oz tub with my card. the ingredients are- water, urea, carthamus trinctorius (safflower seed oil), Lactic Acid, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine, ammonium hydroxide, lanolin, cetyl alcohol, peg-100 stearate, sorbitan stearate, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, glycerly stearate, dimethicone, magnesium aluminum silicate, fragrance, bht, disodium edta RAVE!

Lipstick -MAC - Fresh Moroccan Lipstick
gigglemommy 11/27/2007 4:27:00 PM
Love this color! MAC really has the corner on reds for redheads. Rage and Fresh Moroccan are my two absolute fave colors of all time. i don't feel any grittiness from the shimmer in this one, but i will admit it isn't the most moisturizing formula..great lasting power though! i usually dot a little gloss in the middle of my pout any old way, which fixes the issue completely ;-)
