I love this stuff! I'm surprised it's getting such negative reviews here. No, it's not a miracle product, but it does greatly reduce my drying/flat ironing time and it makes my hair more manageable. A lot of people on here have complained about greasy hair while using this-- your hair should NOT be greasy! If it is, you're using way too much. I have extremely thick, wavy hair, and I've used probably 1/2 of the container of product....and I've used it 4 times now. You should not be using the whole container. Anyway, here's what I do and I've gotten great results! 1. Pre-wash: I ran out of the clarifying stuff that comes with the product, but I've had much better luck first using a more clarifying shampoo (I use Kerastase Oleo Relax), then using a protein shampoo (Phytonectar) and leaving that in my hair for about 20 minutes. Rinse that out and towel-dry hair. 2. Apply product: I use probably 4 quarter-sized dollops for my entire head. I keep it away from my roots and concentrate on the ends. Then I comb it through to make sure it's distributed. 3. Blow-dry: after 30 minutes (per instructions) I blow dry my hair as straight as I can get it. Make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry. 4. Flat iron: this takes FOREVER, but it's worth it! Flat iron small sections of your hair. I use clips so I can get at certain problem areas where it's extra wavy. It's also super important to have a hand-held mirror so you can see behind you. My hair often feels straight when I touch it, but when I actually look at it in the mirror it's still really wavy. Your hair will get HOT, but be sure to get it as straight as possible. 5. Wait: yeah, 48 hours is a long time and not a lot of fun....but I find that my hair really doesn't look bad on day 2. It's a little flat, but still looks decent. I clip my bangs up, as I'm not really concerned about the product working on them. I re-flat iron in the morning of the second day and check throughout the day to make sure it's still straight. This process works really well for me...it's tedious, but for $15 you can't really beat it! Prepare to spend a good 3 hours doing everything (washing, leaving it in, drying, ironing), but that's not really any worse than doing it in a salon. Great results here...will repurchase! Oh, and don't even think of buying the Organix S&C-- that stuff is awful!!!

Conditioner -Modern Organic Products (MOP) - glisten conditioner

Woohoo! I now have a HG conditioner to go with my HG shampoo (Phytonectar)! I was actually on a mission to get the Mixed Greens conditioner when I picked this up, and I'm so glad that I did! This conditioner actually adds shine to my dull, dry, frizzy strawberry blonde hair. Do you know how hard I've worked to achieve the glossiness of a brunette over the years? Nothing comes close to this + phyto shampoo. My hair looks like it came straight out of a Pantene commercial. One issue that people may have with this is the fact that it's really not moisturizing at all. I have to rely on other products to do the job in that department, but it's not particularly drying-- it's just not a rich conditioner. Great stuff!

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter

Ahhhhhh I've found a new love! I bought this on a whim at Ulta and was obsessed the second I tried it. The first one I got was Quince, and I love the color and feel of the product. It feels thick and creamy and moisturizing. After the lip butter has been on my lips for a while, it melts into a shiny, glossy finish. The pigmentation is perfect and I went back and got Guava and Wild Rose a few days after discovering Quince. My lips are in heaven! My wallet, however, is not-- these run for $12, which is pricy to me. Worth it though...hopefully these last a long time!

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco conditioner

WOW....way to go Bumble and Bumble....you've managed to create the worst product for the most expensive price. With this, I may as well not even be using conditioner. The only other times that I've had a conditioner do absolutely nothing for my hair were when I tried the cheapest of the cheap drugstore products. How do they get away with this? It doesn't smell very good, it doesn't detangle, and it doesn't make my hair soft.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Super Rich Conditioner

What a waste of money! The only redeeming factor here is the smell. This conditioner smells incredible-- clean and fresh and somehow....expensive. Which is about in line with the price. If you're down with paying $25 for mediocre product, then rock on. If not, skip this product and buy something from the drugstore, because that's the quality that you get with B&B products. Total rip-off!

Shampoo -Phyto - Phytonectar Shampoo
giggitygoonotgone 7/11/2011 11:28:00 PM
This is my absolute #1 HG hair product...and I don't have many HGs. First of all, this is a shampoo...I had literally NEVER found a shampoo that actually moisturizes my hair until I found Phytonectar. My hair is what I like to call "special needs hair" -- incredibly thick, wiry, frizzy, and wavy in a way that's more stuck-my-finger-in-an-electric-socket than VS-model wavy. In sum, it is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Very few products actually make a difference in how my hair looks, feels, and can be managed. Phytonectar actually adds moisture, shine, and manageability to my hair. Amazing! I shampoo once with it, rinse, then apply again. I let it sit for 15 minutes if I've got the time, and I'm left with soft, amazing hair! I do use conditioner and other styling products, but this shampoo makes the most difference in how my hair looks. It also smells fantastic...orange blossom, mmmmmm. There are a few cons that don't deter me from repurchasing forever but are worth noting: first of all is the hefty price tag. I believe that a 6.7 oz bottle of this stuff costs close to $25. Ouch. I can find litre bottles on Amazon for cheaper, but it still comes out to be quite pricey. It also doesn't lather super well, so I had to get used to shampooing my hair twice. This means that not only is the shampoo super pricey, it also doesn't last as long as other shampoos. Lastly, the bottle is kind of a pain...screw top, which can lead to some sticky situations if you're trying to handle the bottle with soapy hands and the bottle's top is off...watch out so you don't lose product! I honestly don't care about the cons here, though. This is worth its weight in gold in my opinion!
