Powder -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5

My sunscreen prayers have been answered. I like to use a high spf on my face, but most sunscreen lotions are greasy and make my face look shiny. I have this powder in Translucent Medium and it works great as a sunscreen (I do apply it generously if I'm in strong sunlight). I was out all day in the desert sun and didn't burn at all and only sustained a slight tan, the rest of me wasn't so lucky and I did get a little burned. You need to blend well because this does run the risk of looking a bit heavy/cakey if not blended well. Also, the compact this comes in makes this sunscreen super portable and convenient to use, which is good since you're supposed to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. Personally I would not use this powder as my regular everyday makeup, while this looks good it isn't the most natural looking powder out there. I reserve this for when I know I'll be outside for a decent amount of time.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Age Shield Hand Cream with Helioplex SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
getsinyoureyes 3/16/2010 9:28:00 PM

Terrible. This stuff peels off in clumps after putting it on. I agree with other reviewers that this hand cream is nothing like the original. This cream is much less moisturizing and has the prior mentioned clumping problem. I think I'll just use regular sunscreen on my hands and pass on this crap.

Conditioner -Sexy Hair Concepts - Pumpkin Conditioner
rated 2 of 5
getsinyoureyes 8/16/2009 5:29:00 AM

The only thing this has going for it is the delish pumpkin pie filling scent. As a conditioner this left my hair feeling moisturized, but matted and dull if that makes sense. This has no slip to it and it was a challenge to brush my hair after this. Meh, not impressed. Especially for the price.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
rated 4 of 5
getsinyoureyes 8/15/2009 9:41:00 PM

I sort of feel like the title on this jar is false advertising. I bought this in the winter when it felt like my skin was going to completely flake off my face from how dry it was and frankly this did not cut it. At all. It felt nice for about five minutes then my face went back to feeling dehydrated and I felt a little miffed I spent the money on this stuff. Nevertheless I stored it in the back of my drawer for spring/summer now that the weather is warmer I think this is great. A nice light moisturizer that makes my skin look so smooth and luminous. The plus is that it looks fabulous under makeup. In fact the big reason for my score is the fact that this stuff works so well with makeup and would recommend this to anyone looking for something that'll look good under makeup. I would not however recommend this if you have truly dry skin.

Deodorants -Dove - Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth
rated 2 of 5
getsinyoureyes 8/13/2009 1:53:00 PM

After using this deodorant and nothing else on my armpits for over six weeks I still see absolutely no difference in the amount of hair on my pits, the thickness of the hair on my pits, and the rate at which that hair regrows. Before this product if I shaved my pits in the morning I'd likely have stubble the next day and after six weeks of this I still get stubble the next day. The only positive I really have for this product is that the Wild Rose scent is very nice. If the only reason you want this product is to minimize hair don't waste your money.

Hair Color -Revlon - Frost & Glow Highlighting Kit
rated 5 of 5
getsinyoureyes 8/10/2009 11:04:00 PM

I pre-punctured my cap prior to trying to pull my hair through the holes like other reviewers recommended and it definitely helped a lot. I tried pulling hair through a non-pierced hole and boy was it difficult and sort of painful to have to dig the hook into my scalp to make the hole. I used the kit for black to dark brown hair. my hair's texture is fine to medium and it took me 15-20 minutes to get my hair to about a dark blond shade. To make the cap easier to remove I applied some conditioner to my hair before trying to pull it off and it came off without too much struggle. My hair afterward is no more or less damaged than the rest of my hair. I'm very pleased with the results and will most certainly use it again.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
getsinyoureyes 8/9/2009 3:28:00 PM

The high spf attracted me to this tinted moisturizer, but the actual product pretty much sucks. The formula clumps up into balls when I try to smooth it onto my face and it's makes my face look completely greasy and shiny (from the "subtle" shimmer" probably) to boot. Even regular sunscreen isn't this terrible.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent

This stuff just doesn't remove any of my eye makeup and all I use on a typical day is non-waterproof mascara.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Extra Strength All Over Smart Wax Hair Removal Kit
rated 5 of 5
getsinyoureyes 4/29/2009 8:49:00 PM

This stuff actually removes coarse bikini-line hair extremely well. To me that is an amazing feat all by itself, the fact that this stuff actually makes good on the promise that this wax sticks to hairs and not to skin (or at least it sticks less to my skin than other waxes) makes it HG for me. I also tried this on my eye brows and upper lip. Definitely works, but don't use it if you have delicate skin from exfoliation or other treatments that can make skin fragile as this stuff isn't playing around when the box claims that the wax is "extra strength". The main drawback to this product is that is very messy (make sure to have some kind of oil close at hand while using) and while you're applying it and when trying to get it out of the jar the wax will create long threads (think the way it looks to remove a slice of cheese pizza from the rest of the pie. Those are the kinds of threads I'm talking about.) which can get all over things. Annoying, yes, but worth it for this very effective wax.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Volume Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
getsinyoureyes 4/29/2009 7:41:00 PM

My hair isn't colored right now, but sometimes my scalp reacts to sulfates so this moderately priced sulfate free shampoo seemed great. The reality of it was that even though this is a volumizing formula that claims not to weigh down hair, my hair definitely was weighed down after drying. Not only was my hair weighed down, but it seemed to have this gunky build up in it. I loved the Aveda-esque scent, but this stuff just wasn't worth it. I ended up returning it after trying to make it work for two weeks.

Deodorants -Dove - Clinical Protection
rated 1 of 5
getsinyoureyes 4/7/2009 2:57:00 AM

Bottom line: Did not stop me from sweating. Did not even reduce the amount that I sweated. I gave this a shot because I sweat profusely even when I don't feel hot, am sitting in an air conditioned room, and wearing light clothing. Followed the directions and applied two clicks to each underarm before bed. I followed this regimen for about two weeks and I honestly couldn't tell a difference in the amount I sweated. After that I tried using this in the morning as regular antiperspirant, but once again I didn't notice any difference in how much I sweated. At $10USD I really don't feel like the cost is justified as this works about as well as any other cheaper antiperspirant does (in other words it doesn't work at all) I ended up returning after about three weeks. Now I just use Certain Dri and can't believe I put up with this crappy product for as long as I did.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Age Perfect Anti-Sagging and Ultra Hydrating Day Cream SPF15
rated 2 of 5
getsinyoureyes 3/10/2009 8:16:00 PM

Sorry to bring down the ratings of this product, but this cream really stings my skin. I picked this up because I've been experiencing some major dry skin lately and products marketed towards mature skin is usually gentle and moisturizing. While this is moisturizing, I don't think it's worth it if I end up with a painfully face. Not recommended for sensitive skins.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
rated 5 of 5
getsinyoureyes 2/16/2009 8:10:00 PM

Great exfoliating product for people with normal to dry skin (and who also get blemishes occasionally). I use this 2-3 times a week and it works well at making my skin smooth, bright, and blemish-free WITHOUT making my skin dehydrated like most acne cleansers do.

Cleansers -Dove - Facial cleansing cloths - sensitive skin [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
getsinyoureyes 2/16/2009 7:29:00 PM

So far my favorite cleansing cloth. The cloths are the biggest I've seen yet and have tons of cleanser in them so it's actually easy to save money with them by cutting them in half. In fact I feel like I have to cut them in half because they do have so much cleanser and there's no way I could use all the cleanser in a whole cloth (not unless I was going to use the cloth to wash maybe my whole body and not just my face). Unlike Olay cloths these don't dry my skin in the slightest and afterward my skin feels completely clean and comfortable. I haven't had any sensitivity issues with these cloths like I do with The Body Shop's Vitamin E facial wipes (although in the spirit of full disclosure I don't usually have sensitive skin) . On top of that these cloths are usually at least .50 cents cheaper than Olay ones at my drugstore. So in summary you get cloths that are cheaper than Olay's, bigger than Olay's cloths, have more cleanser in them than Olay's cloths, and are less drying than Olay's cloths. If you have normal to dry skin and wanted to try cleansing cloths Dove's are the way to go.

Cleansers -Dove - Cool Moisture foaming cleanser with cucumber extract and green tea
rated 4 of 5
getsinyoureyes 2/16/2009 7:19:00 PM

Not as moisturizing as I thought this would be, but it didn't make my skin flaky so I continued to use it. Leaves my skin a little dry, but does remove makeup well and has never caused any blemishes on my skin. A basic cleanser for a good price, I'd purchase this again, though I think I'll only buy it in summer when my skin is less dry than in the winter.
