I'm not sure why this is such a "hot product" in the magazines - I love oils, but this blend is really run-of-the-mill. I took an aromatherapy course back in the day and the main oils in this product are very cheap, nothing really stands out. A few of the ingredients are great, but the base is just a little - greasy, ordinary, ineffective. The rose and neroli mixed with the EPO is a strong aromoatic blend - and a little heavy handed, IMO. It's just very, very strongly scented - in a bad way. I have better luck with the oil blends I've made myself than with this product.

I do not like gourmand scents, but this is lovely - not foody at all. Very sophisticated, unisex vanilla with a hint of musk. Smells divine - love it!

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Tea for Two

This is one of those fragrances that I sampled and loved, then bought a full size bottle and rarely touched. I became bored of it after awhile, but I will say that every time I recognize it on another person I do a double-take in appreciation. I wouldn't buy it again, but I would recommend it to anyone to at least get a sample and give it a try.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Tubéreuse Criminelle
rated 5 of 5

A true love-it or hate-it fragrance, which I positively covet. At first dab, I thought "oh, no..." but within a minute I started thinking "hmm..." and within ten minutes I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist in admiration. A fresh tuberose, made fresher with the menthol-like notes, that's also creamy and buttery without being cloying. I get a significant number of compliments when I wear it. It's a very complex, sophisticated blend - much more sophisticated than Jo Malone's White Jasmine + Mint, which I think is a blatant, unsuccesful copy (different floral but similar concept).

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - rahat loukoum

I really wanted to like this product - particularly since I have a full bottle of it. But it's just too sweet and foody for me. My boyfriend doesn't like it at all and says it smells like a teenage fragrance to him. While I think that's a little harsh, I get where he's coming from. On the plus side, it's a simpler, sweeter fragrance that still has the complexity of a Lutens creation.

Treatments -Sunday Riley - Good Genes

I adore this product - it's revolutionized my skin. I've only been using it for 3 weeks, but the texture and luminance of my skin has greatly improved. It's also started fading some light sun damage that I have on my cheeks (in spite of being a sunscreen addict!) since moving to California. One of my favorite things is that it plumps my fine lines significantly and makes my skin look a lot more youthful. It's hydrating, but not heavy. I think you could use it even if you had oily skin. Personally I have dry-normal skin, and I wear it every night under my night cream, but the salesperson told me I could use it as a treatment or as a gel-cream in it's own right. I also put it on before going out to dinner with my boyfriend the other night and he kept saying how radiant I looked. Of course there was candlelight, but I think the product really helped. I bought it at Barney's.

Sunscreen -Dr. Hauschka - Sunscreen Cream SPF20
rated 3 of 5
georgiasinclair 9/22/2009 1:14:00 PM

An effective sunscreen, albeit very greasy. Even though it's only SPF 20 it provides a lot more protection than other sunscreens that are SPF 30+ because it is pure photostable mineral protection. However, it leaves a slick shine on your skin, which makes my hair oily if it gets caught on my sunscreened face.

Highlighters -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 1

This is a terrible concealer if you have dark circles under your eyes. It doesn't really conceal anything, just brightens. The only reason that I said that I would buy this again is because if you put just a dab under each eye - on top of your real concealer - it really makes your eyes look more awake. The light reflecting quality is fantastic, but it has so little pigment, like I said earlier, it's a terrible concealer for those that really need a serious concealer. Great brightener though.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

Not so pleased with this mascara. It dried out quicker than I expected and the results weren't as "wow" as I was hoping for. Definitely clumpy as previous reviewers have noted.

Lipstick -Guerlain - KissKiss - 523 Exces de Rouge

I always am on the lookout for a great red lipstick. I have fair skin with pink undertones and need a cool red shade, which I think is harder to find than a warm red lipstick. I also have dry lips and nothing highlights dry lips like a bold lipstick, so I'm always careful to get a lipstick that isn't drying or matte. What I love about this lipstick is that it's hydrating without being overly glossy. It has great pigment coverage, but isn't drying. And the shade is divine - perfect for my fair skin and dark hair. It's my go-to lipstick for anything, casual to formal.
