Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Radiance Eye Cream with Royal Jelly
galofmush 6/20/2012 2:17:00 PM
I've been using this on my eyes for a little over a month now. I don't have huge dark circles or anything, but definitely have some under eye puffy action going on; especially when I smile. I will say that it does definitely brighten the under eye area a lot, but as for the puffiness, I'd say it has only reduced it about by about 30% and you have to be very consistent in use to keep it that way. I usually apply it every morning after I use a cleanser and every evening before bed. This is my first under eye cream I've ever tried. I might try a few others before using this again to see if I can get better results. I will say this...a little goes a very long way. So even though the canister it comes in seems really small, it will last months.

Polishes -Essie - Sand Tropez
galofmush 5/12/2012 12:30:00 PM
LOVE this product. This is not my first Essie nail polish as I've been a fan of their's for a while. This, however, is the perfect neutral tone I've been searching for! In order to get more color that wasn't "see-through" I had to apply 3 coats, but they dried quickly and gave a nice creamy texture/look. After applying a top coat, I was able to go 3-4 days without a single sign of chipping. I've been getting lots of compliments on my nails and the color goes with everything I wear. LOVE IT. Will definitely repurchase.

Self Tanners -Coppertone - Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Gradual Tan Moisturizing Lotion
galofmush 5/25/2010 12:17:00 PM
After trying pretty much every drugstore brand of sunless tanner over the past few years, I've finally found one that I LOVE!!! I've been using it daily for a week now after I shower each morning. It's given me a nice bronze tan that's not "orange" and my husband, just the other day, asked me if I'd been getting a lot of sun time as I'm so tan! He had no idea it was a lotion. It doesn't streak, the smell isn't bad at all, and not overwhelming, and the pump bottle makes it very easy to apply. It dries very quickly. And it doesn't come off in the shower. Definitely will be making this my HG sunless tanner from now on!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Pads
galofmush 2/4/2010 8:55:00 PM
I'm on my third jar of these pads and I LOVE THEM! I was using the Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion before this, but felt that while it cleared up my blemishes, it was clogging my pores too much and causing blackheads. This almost works as an astringent. The salicylic acid ingredient is the only thing that works for me to control blemishes. My pores are clear, and I swear they're smaller. My face is clear of zits and it actually gives my skin a sort of radiant glow. I could not be happier! I'm so glad I switched! The only downside is the scent. It's very strong, but luckily fades quickly.

Conditioner -Trader Joe's - Balanced Moisturizing Nourish Spa Conditioner
galofmush 2/3/2010 1:48:00 PM
I use the TJ's Nourish Spa Shampoo and Conditioner and have been VERY impressed with both. I was looking for a sulfate-free shampoo, but didn't want to pay a ton of money. After hearing loads of recommendations for this brand, I decided to hop on over to our local Trader Joe's and pick up a couple bottles. I could not be more impressed! My hair is so much softer, more manageable, and I've definitely noticed less damage. The conditioner is shockingly really thick and does an excellent job of moisturizing! I like the nice light scent that's not overpowering. My only complaint would be the bottle. After a while it seems to collapse in on itself, making it hard to squeeze and get the conditioner out easily. This is my 2nd bottle and it's happened both times. But nothing taking the cap off and getting it out that way won't solve! Definitely will continue to use this product.

Treatments -Pantene - Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Replenishing Mask ] [DISCONTINUED]
galofmush 8/12/2009 11:27:00 AM
Absolutely the best deep conditioning treatment I've ever come across...and I've tried a lot. It was only a little over $4 at Walmart. I got the last jar, so you know it must be popular. At first when I started using it, I didn't see much change. In fact, my hair felt more straw-like, but I pushed through and after the 3rd time, my hair feels AMAZING. I've been using it every 3 days or so for the past 3 weeks and I cannot believe how much this has helped my hair. I have no split ends, my hair is much more manageable, and smooth. It even helps reduce frizz in high humidity. Will definitely repurchase.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel
galofmush 4/11/2009 11:14:00 AM
After trying several different primers out there, I decided to give this one a try as a last resort. Obviously I was a little skeptical to put this on my face since that's not the intended purpose, but I seriously could not be happier with this product! My pores are literally not visible at all, it goes on so easily, and feels GREAT on my skin. I use Pur Minerals makeup and it leaves my face looking flawless and smooth. I work 12 hour shifts at a hospital and I'm constantly on the go. My makeup is always looking great at the end of the day. Seriously...it's so cheap, a little goes a VERY long way. You have to give this a try.

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
galofmush 4/10/2009 1:53:00 PM
I bought this primer as a cheaper alternative to the Smashbox brand that I'd heard of. I wasn't thrilled with the orangish color and felt that I had a hard time applying it easily to my entire face. I also felt that with my bronzer, it made me look like a pumpkin once it all had time to set in. And that's with me using the lightest shade of Pur Minerals makeup. It didn't clog my pores, as I hadn't broken out in the month that I used it. But I didn't feel like it really achieved the look of a primer either. I didn't feel it gave any sort of "cling" with my mineral makeup. And I was kinda sick of looking orange. I have since started using Monistat's Anti-Chafing Relief gel after reading on here that it has the same ingredients as Smashbox's primer. I was a little skeptical given the fact that it's intended purpose is not for the face. I am floored at how well this product works. It's cheaper than the Rimmel product, is clear, and goes on really easily and feels fantastic on my skin. My makeup lasts a lot longer too and my pores are no longer visible.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
galofmush 3/26/2009 10:30:00 AM
I was doing my research online regarding home remedies for acne and came across the aspirin mask. I've been doing this for 3 weeks now and my skin has NEVER looked better in my entire life. My pores are clear, I have NO zits (literally they went away only a few hours after my first aspirin treatment), and my skin is smooth. This is by far the best treatment I've ever used. I take 4 uncoated aspirin (got a bottle of 200 for only 98 cents at Walmart), I use a dropper to put a few drops of water on them. Then I crush them up and put a squirt of Cetaphil cleanser on it. I mix it up and rub it onto my face. I leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. I do this every 3 days or so. It doesn't overly dry out skin, but I do apply a light moisturizer afterwards. It's sooooo cheap that you owe it to yourself to at least try it.

Lotions/ Creams -Curel - Ultra Healing Daily Moisture Therapy Lotion
galofmush 11/26/2008 2:41:00 PM
I'd been using some Suave lotion on my legs for over a year now and it just wasn't cutting it. Living in MN, the winters can be very harsh on your skin and for some reason this year, my skin has been exceptionally dry. Someone suggested I try Curel and thought I'd give it a shot. My legs were literally itching me to death and I needed something. I've only used it for 4 days now, but it's been AMAZING. It's not thick and gooey so it's easy to apply. It doesn't leave me feeling greasy. It has a very light citrus scent that's not overpowering and my legs are super smooth and no longer itch! I LOVE IT. It works great on dry hands as well. I'm so glad a friend of mine suggested it to me. It'll definitely get me through the harsh winter months ahead.

Conditioner -Nexxus - Hydra Sleek
galofmush 7/22/2008 2:10:00 PM
I got this as a sample at a golf tournament (weird, I know) and have used it twice now. I must say, I'm not at all impressed. Maybe it's just my hair type, but it left it life-less, it feels a bit like straw, and there's this layer of film on my hair. I have better luck following my normal daily hair routine of biolage shampoo & conditioner followed up by Aveda's Damage Control spray. My hair always feels like silk then. With the nexxus? Not so much. I will say this, though, my hair's a bit "sleeker" but that's most likely due to the film all over it that's weighing it down.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mud Pack Face Mask
galofmush 7/19/2008 12:34:00 PM
I switched to the mud mask after using the mint julep one for a while. The MJ made my face break out, but the mud mask has been nothing but a life saver for me. I've been using the mud mask 2-3 times a week for the past year and my face is smooth, it evens out my complexion, sucks out the excess oil, and really clears out my pores. I don't mind the smell at all and I like that it doesn't sting my face like the MJ did. It's something like $3.79 at Ulta and you seriously cannot beat that price. I usually go through a bottle every 2 1/2 months or so. It's like getting a facial from a spa right in your own home. I LOVE it.
