Finally, MUA recognized Etude House makeup line. I have been waiting for a category under their name to share my review on this great product. This is the best eye primer you can buy at the cheapest price! Note that I really have oily eyelids and even high end primers can't control this oiliness I have which melts my eye shadows, and makes them crease more because I have this hooded lids too. First, it comes in a small rounded tube shaped like a pear, and a wand applicator which allows you to get the product and apply it easily to lids. Second, the product, which is a bit sticky in consistency. You need to pat it down every now and then because much of the product stays below the head part and doesn't come down alone by gravity. It easily blends on the eyelid. It doesn't change the colors of your shadows too. You wouldn't need to apply much and a small pea size would do. I tried this one day when I went to hangout with friends, and after went to watch over my grandfather at the hospital by night. Because of limited resources at the hospital, I slept over it forgetting to wash my makeup off. When I woke up in the morning, I was surprised that my eye makeup stayed intact and still vibrant without smudging or falling off. No creasing noted or oiliness noted! It stayed there for almost 16 hours! I was totally grateful for this product because it has a high quality like that of the high end products. Its cheap too. There is one thing that I hate in this product, it leaves white casts when accidentally applied on outer eye area where you applied foundation / concealer on. But in spite of that, I still love this product and will be buying this over and over again! It is absolutely a perfect 10 for an eye primer. I definitely recommend this to other MUA members out there!
I was driven to it by my favorite makeup artist where in she showed herself using this product into one of her makeup. So it made me curious if this was really great. I recently bought this product for a bargain so I wouldn't mind trying it without risking so much money with the original retail price. As for the packaging, I got no problems with it, it looks simple and easy to open. With the wand, I like fiber-ish mascara wands which gets in between lash hairs and easier to apply without using too much of the product. Focusing by its sub description that states, "Separates and builds every lash". I actually disagree with the word separates. It doesn't actually separate my lashes and clumps it. It gave my lashes the volume but not enough the way I wanted. Thus, it smudges easily due to the fact that it doesn't dry immediately and I hate those kind of mascaras. Another is that, flaking is indeed absent. It is though easy to remove using only soap and water. But still, considering with the money I spent, maybe I'll still consume the product. It is less compared to Maybelline Falsies which I like better and way way better than this..
This are my favorite line of lipsticks! I purchased mine in 4 shades: Blushed, Blushing Nude, Coral Berry and Demure. Blushed is somewhat pearl or frost for me, with a slightly pink to peachy undertone. Blushing Nude is a pinkish nude and semi matte. Coral Berry is semi matte as well and somewhat pink to orange tone while Demure is purely nude with a peachy to bronzy tone for me. All of these colors for me are intensified when coated with a clear gloss. The product has a creamy consistency, easy to apply and has a buildable color. The staying power is great because even though I already ate and drink, the color is still there and I do touch up by just packing the color to my lip unlike of doing a sweep to your lip which uses most of the product. But just packing the color is enough, and I am able to achieve the maximum color I desire. I definitely would repurchase these lipsticks because they are really great and can be used for everyday, whatever makeup you're wearing! I love everything about it!
This is one of my favorite nude lipsticks. Let me show you why.. For reference, I am NC20 in MAC, with a bit of a pale pinkish undertone to my lips. It has a creamy consistency. Semi matte, non sheer, no shimmer. I like this product since you don't need to use a lot to build up the color you want. It tends to crease on my lips when applied generously, so I use my ring finger or a lip brush to apply it. I can't use this alone, because for an NC20 like me, I look paler with it like I'm ill, so I have to use a gloss on top of it, not a clear gloss because it wouldn't help but a peachy to bronzy gloss so as not to look pale. It blends with any look I have especially if I'm doing dark bronzy shadows or dark colors to my eyes. It blends perfectly with the any peachy to bronzy gloss I use. The only problem I have with this product is that the product is so soft that it melts and when I apply it barely from the tube it breaks on the point between the product and the tube that holds it. So I just pack it on my lips instead of creating one sweep so as to keep it from breaking off wasting the product and making the packaging messy. It is a cheap product and would love to repurchase. It doesn't last long but I didn't expect to have a better staying power basing from the price. I still love it because its so pigmented and saves you a lot of money from high end products.
This product is phenomenal! I love love love it and is my super favorite! I was driven to this mascara by lots of positive reviews here so as with external sites. I was actually looking for a mascara that could give volume to my thin lashes and one that keeps my lashes curled all day. Fortunately, I met this one! First of all, they said that waterproof mascara is evil due to the fact that they are difficult to wash off. That wouldn't be a problem unless you have a good eye makeup remover. When they labeled a product as waterproof it only means one thing - it's OIL SOLUBLE! Even if you don't use a makeup remover, you could actually use a baby oil to remove it and is way more effective than those makeup removers we purchase. However for me, I wash this mascara off with maybelline's eyes and lips makeup remover which is also effective in washing off waterproof makeup and it comes off easily. For reference, I have hooded asian eyes. Having hooded + asian eyes covers my top lashes and you couldn't barely see them when I don't wear any makeup. I tried so many drug store mascara and most of them made my lashes bend to its original position making my eyelash curler useless. I even curl them twice, before and after applying mascara. I admit this mascara gave my lashes volume, and made my lashes curled all day! I used to curl my lashes longer than 10 seconds just to keep them curled all day. When I tried this one, no more two times curling lashes and no more curling for more than 10 seconds! It made my lashes stand out against my hooded eyes.. This one doesn't clump on me, I wonder how others say that it clumps their lashes. Maybe its how you use the product. Also it doesn't smudge at all. The first time I tried it, I kept it dry for almost two hours then went for a swim just to test how long it can hold there, and good news! It stayed there without smudging! As it says, this product gives a false lash effect and it truly does. It lengthens your eyelashes and thickens it. I say it wasn't that instant for me because I have to comb the wand several times to my eyelashes before I get the thickness that I want, but still using only small amount of the product. You wouldn't really need too much to keep your lashes outstanding, trust me! The slightly curled wand is also helpful in application because it follows the contour of your eyelashes reaching almost every single hair. However, the wand is a bit thick even when you use the sides to apply it to your lower lashes. I advise that you do your eye makeup first or apply your concealer after applying this mascara because it tends to be messy during application to the lower lashes. It's worth every penny and I would repurchase. I definitely have no regrets!
First of all, I like lipsticks that are peachy in color. This one is great! Packaging: I say that the packaging is a bit downer for me because the lid comes off easily and you must secure it well so the lid doesn't come off and so as to prevent the product damaged from the other contents of your makeup kit. I like the color of the packaging very neat and classy. Product: This has a orangey - peachy and sort of brick red color. Consistency is semi matte, creamy. Application: The product applies on smoothly to my lips, doesn't crease. Description to product experience: I love the color of this lipstick. It gives somewhat close to natural color to my lips when applied lightly and combines with my neutral makeup since I am fond of doing neutral looks. You could actually build the color if you like to look more intense but applying it lightly gives the color that I desire. I got a lot of compliments with it and it doesn't come off easily even when drinking or eating. I also recommend this to my fellow ladies out there who has the same skin tone as me (NC20 in MAC). Definitely would repurchase. No regrets with this product..
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Blushing Nude (New for Fall '08)
gLoOo 2/15/2012 7:14:00 AM
The best lipstick I have ever had. I love this lipstick!! To me it is blushing nude. For reference I have nc20 skin. It looks natural on me and it makes my lips look fresh, smooth and stays long. Its semi matte and a red - pinkish for me. The color actually depends on your skin tone and the color of your lips as well. I advise that if you wanted to get the best color, try priming your lips with a foundation or a concealer. In my case, I prime my lips with a lip balm so as to prevent it from creasing. I oh so love it and almost use it everyday. I am kinda stingy now about it because I couldn't find this at any store and I just bought this over the internet. I wish I could find another one. I definitely recommend this to ladies out there with the same skin tone as me or to any body! I would definitely repurchase hoping that I could find one again.
I still wonder why there are so many negative comments about this product. So far I find this product really good but there are some of the product description that I may negate on basing on what I experienced about this primer. First of all the product itself. I find the product easy to apply and easy to blend out. It made my eyeshadow stand out and last for about 6 hours. Note that I have this really oily eye lids and that after 2 hours (without an e/s primer) my eyeshadow starts to crease and the oil from my lids tends to make my eyeshadow disappear. So when I started using this product, it actually prevents my eyelids from being oily for about 6 hours and to no disappointment my eyeshadow stay put. So I agree with it that it stays put and no creasing - for the eyeshadow at least. Also note that I am only using an eyeshadow palette which I bought for only $3 which wasn't also a famous product and it doesn't really stand out when applied without any primer at all. So I wonder why others said here that it didn't work for their eyeshadows? Maybe it depends on your eyeshadow product or the way you applied it. Because for me, it really did work well even though I used this with cheap eyeshadows. Second, it says that it also prevents your concealer from creasing. Well I say no, not at all. My concealer doesn't make any difference with or without this primer on. I see no improvements when I used this prior to applying my concealer. That's why I only use it as an eye shadow primer cause its a waste of product when it does nothing at all to your concealer. Third, I like the packaging. The pump makes it easier to get the product you need. I have no problems with the packaging. In conclusion, I like this product - only as an eyeshadow primer. But its not worth the money. Its too expensive and I can still get better eyeshadow primers out there at a cheaper price. I wouldn't repurchase. NEW UPDATE: I am starting to hate this product. Since I've got oily and hooded lids, my eye shadows starts to crease for less than 6 hours now and I regret spending so much with these.. totally turned off.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
gLoOo 1/23/2012 9:17:00 AM
This is my first gel eyeliner. Purchasing this eyeliner was driven to me by the reviews before me and it turned out really great on me! First, the packaging. I admit that I really am not impressed with the packaging itself because of the metal cap. The packaging is of a thick glass with the i think its an aluminum cap. The cap is thin and its like prone to damage and cannot protect the heat and moist to the product. So it really is best to store the product at room temperature. Second, the brush. The brush is good and can pick up the amount of product desired. As for me, I was able to control the product with the brush alone. I could also create a thin shape for my eyeliner, and it is also great in lining your waterline and/or lash line as compared to other eyeliner brushes like the pointed ones and the angled ones. The brush can shape your eyeliner very well and to shaping it into a cat eye which the ones I frequently do with my eyes. For starters, you really need to need a lot of practice when using this brush so it is best that beginners could start off with a bent pointed eyeliner brush. Third, the product itself. I must say this really is an eyeliner! It glides on smoothly to your eyelids; no smudging, waterproof, and most of all, it lasts almost all day! It doesn't irritate my eyes as well. I purchased mine in black, however the black could have been more blacker or more pigmented than it is. This isn't the best creme eyeliner yet but so far, I find it really great. Note that I have asian / hooded eyes and this eyeliner makes my eyes open and I get a lot of compliments when I use this for a cat eye.. Since I have this hooded eyes and really oily eyelids, it doesn't smudge at all as compared to the previous liners I used (liquid liners actually) which were really messy, flaky and smudge to my upper lids and it looks ridiculous . It dries quickly too so you wouldn't have to worry about opening your eyelids at once after applying it.It is also easy to remove with soap and water but I prefer to be using the maybelline makeup remover too if you want to wash it away from your eyes very well. I am definitely going to repurchase.
Blush -Maybelline - Mineral Power Naturally Luminous Blush, all colors
gLoOo 1/9/2012 6:55:00 AM
This isn't the best blusher yet but I really like this blusher! It gives a natural blush, off course. You don't need to use a lot of the product to sweep on your cheeks to achieve the desired color and somehow lasts long. I have mine in 3 colors: true peach, soft mauve, and original rose. I like these colors especially true peach since it gives me a natural glow to my nc20 skin. I could pair it with any makeup I do, either with a smokey eye, nude makeup or just when your going out. The fact for me is that, I am not fond of mineral products which comes in a loose powder form because its messy and difficult to control the product that comes out. Its not ideal for travel. In conclusion, I definitely like (not love) this product. I recommend this to those of the same skin tone as me, or other skin tones you could try this out. However, this was discontinued and I just purchased mine over the internet. I would definitely repurchase as long as I still find this available for sale..
Liquid -Cover Girl - Fresh Look Makeup Oil Free [DISCONTINUED]
gLoOo 12/18/2011 8:13:00 AM
Generally, this is a good foundation. I like it. It gives a matte finish, lasts long, gives a medium to full coverage, and I don't need a setting powder to set it in. The only problem I have with this foundation is that it dries quickly and difficult to blend even though using a brush neither blending it with the fingers. It appears cakey when not really blended well so it takes time to apply it. This is not advisable for dry skin. I might buy this product again but I still prefer other foundations.
I love this kohl liner. I have mine in midnight and choco colors. I love the choco one. I use it almost everytime! It lasts long, and really gives that much of a color without over consuming or reapplying it. When I bought this one, I still haven't been resharpening it for almost a month already considering that I almost use it everyday. I still get the same amount I desire. I will definitely repurchase this one. I'll avail myself with the black one. I never regret buying this product! Its inexpensive and can give you the same quality you can get from the expensive ones.
Bronzers -E.L.F. - Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder -- Sunkissed
gLoOo 12/10/2011 10:40:00 AM
For me, I like the case of this bronzing powder. I really like cases with transparent or glass like appearance because it looks elegant for me. So for the product itself, it doesn't really act as a bronzer to me but it acts as a blush. It does give me a soft glow to my cheeks. I would definitely repurchase this product, I mean, its really inexpensive so it's worth buying. I like it as a blush not a bronzing powder. One thing I just don't like about this is that it has a lot of shimmer.
Blush -Revlon - Vital Radiance Soft Dimension Powder Blush - Coral Radiance
gLoOo 12/10/2011 10:33:00 AM
I purchased mine at mocha radiance. First of all, I like it, it does give me a natural glow but before I could get myself satisfied, I have to apply almost 6-8 swaps of the blush to my skin to get the desired effect. It doesn't give too much color to my NC20 skin and it only leaves a shimmer so I have to reapply and reapply. Good thing I just bought it at a cheap price. I might repurchase again IF I could buy it at the same price the first time I did. But maybe I'll be trying the coral one. In conclusion, its a good blush; can be a perfect blush for intense eye makeup to balance the colors on your face; and can give you a natural glow.
Introduction: I have purchased mine at medium light shade (though it is a bit dark for my skin, I am in an Ivory shade supposedly) which has a peachy undertone.. Though my skin shows some yellow undertones so i tried to purchase it at a bit dark shade. Positives: It gives a medium coverage. It doesn't cake. It blends well and easy to use with a brush or my fingertips alone. Negatives: I really don't like the smell. Its like I'm putting some sort of medicated ointment on my face. I have to set it with a powder foundation to control my oily face and cannot be used alone. The container is a bit difficult to use to consume all the product. I have to tap it on my palms and often difficult to control the product coming out of the container. It doesn't last long. In conclusion: I like it but there's a 50% chance for me to repurchase or maybe not anymore.
