Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Infiniti You Curl No Clamp Curling Iron
funyun 10/21/2012 12:16:00 AM
So I was on the hunt for a new curling iron, and I've been hearing goods things about the clamp free ones. What I didn't like about my regular curling iron is how it creased the ends of my hair and made me look so "done". I wanted something that looked natural . So I picked the XL version up and today was the first time I tried it out to a party. Surprisingly I quickly got the hang of using it, and I LOVE how my hair looks! I didn't need to put a lot of hairspray and it lasts so long. I noticed it didn't take long to curl my whole head than if I used a regular curling iron. So glad I bought this.
Makeup Brushes -Urban Decay - 24/7 Shadow Pencil Blending Brush

I don't use this for the shadow pencils. This is the latest brush in my collection, and now I finally know why my eye makeup never looked right before I met this brush. I have small eyes, and I found that this made a huge difference on my shadow application. The size of the brush head is perfect for my lid space and it keeps the color where I want it, unlike other brushes I've used that blends the shadow everywhere. I'm so happy with this brush. If you have small eyes you need this in your life!
Eyeliner -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Before I discovered this, I have been using MAC Blacktrack for years. I wanted to find something that I can wear on the go without bringing an eyeliner brush. I'm so glad I found this. This definitely stays on for hours with a primer. I actually conducted a test today. I wore a shimmery shadow (Mac Antiqued) and put Blacktrack over. Within a couple hours the Blacktrack faded and the eyeshadow went over it. It always happens on my lids with shimmery shadows. However when I put Stila over Antiqued today, it actually stayed on for hours even through my nap. I can't believe I bought a new jar of Blacktrack thinking it would be different for me, now I have to use it all up. But, I will be repurchasing Stila after I finish the jar. Great for on the go and really stays on my oily lids for hours.
Unfortunately, I'm among the small group of people that thought this didn't help at all. I was really excited after hearing all the reviews, purchased the original and applied it like Youtubers said... but it just did not work out. I got oily within a couple hours. On top of that it caked up my makeup really badly and obviously than if I didn't use MoM. I guess I'll have to continue with blotting..
There's nothing "anti-shine" about this. Shine breaks through within a couple hours.
I rarely wear a bold lip. But when I do, I don't reach for the red lipstick; I wear REBEL! I was recommended Beet lipliner, but I didn't want it to look red. So I bought Magenta lipliner, and with Rebel on top damnnn looks gorgeous and edgy.
I was debating with either this or studio fix concealer, and I went with this because I was already in Sephora. Overall, I like the consistency and it's easy to blend. It does a nice job in covering my acne scars. I love the color match. I'm around NC 30 now and I have Boi-ing in 03 which I think is medium. I've read that there were 3 colors of concealers but now there's 5.
I loved that this was a perfect match for my yellow undertone skin. However this barely lasts on my skin and then I will have to retouch again. I like the creamy consistency but I ran out of this too quickly. This did nothing to hide my acne scars. Because of the price I wouldn't purchase again. If the formula was more dense and longer lasting then maybe.
Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets

Absolute necessity in my makeup bag. I never leave the house without these. Comes in handy in situations where you don't have time to do the powder routine... better than putting on more powder and caking up your face. If it's the end of the work day, you have last minute plans to meet up with people and there's no time to go home and wash your face, these sheets are a lifesaver.
Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)

I'm sooo late in finding out about this brush! After using this, I realized that after all these years I have been applying my foundation in a way that doesn't give a flawless look (my fingers). This has definitely made a big difference in how my skin looks after using this brush. This was my first Sigma purchase and I'm so happy with this! Before this I bought the Elf powder brush and that made my skin look very nice as well. But after hearing all the hype about the F80 I needed to have this, and I love the flawless effect it gives me. F80 takes a little longer than the Elf brush to buff out my foundation, but I've found it really gives a beautiful airbrush effect. Everyone must buy this!
Powder -Tarte - Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder
funyun 7/3/2012 12:42:00 AM
This is the best finishing powder I have purchased for my oily skin. When I don't use this I definitely get shinier faster. Yes, you will still get shiny after a few hours but I find that this seems to slow down the oil production a bit. I blot before I use this powder and it seems to last longer. At first I was debating if I should get Mufe HD powder, but learning about the white cast stories I decided to get this instead and it photographs very nice over my Mufe HD foundation. Despite the price I will repurchase because I have not come across a better finishing powder for my oily skin.
Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
funyun 7/3/2012 12:28:00 AM
This is the only foundation I've found to match my skin almost perfectly, which is difficult for girls with yellow undertones like me. I've finally found something to give me medium coverage that matches my skin tone. I was originally looking into Nars liquid foundations because their products are geared for yellow undertones, however it doesn't give the coverage I need. It sucks that this doesn't really stay put when you're sweating, but because of the perfect color match I'll come back to this.
