Stick -Max Factor - PAN - STICK
rated 3 of 5
frini 1/5/2013 12:30:00 PM

Max factor pan-stik in 12(true beige) that is still available in europe. It is a stick formulated for normal to dry skin. It is a good much for me perfect but even though it matches perfectly on me it makes skin look tired. It doesn´t have that dewy finish that modern foundations do. I think that this is because of the undertone that is neutral and I am more of a cool toned person. Anyway the problem with this foundation is that is a little bit cakey after a few hours. However I will put it a 3 lip because is a decent foundation for a makeup job no spf so photoperfect and costs 14 euros here. If you want a foundation for a travel that will do as a consealer and foundation pocket friendly then this is it. I will keep using it for touch ups and express makeovers but for an everyday foundation there are better that combine and beneficial ingredients and spf in them. it comes out in 6 shades limited variety but they chose them wisely believe me. It is one of the oldest formulas of the brand!

Eyeliner -Givenchy - Eyeliner pencil
rated 5 of 5
frini 7/4/2011 2:25:00 PM

Givenchy Magic Kohl is the name. Practicaly one of the best kohl's out there. I have it in black-01- which is one of the blackest kohl's on the market. Now what I really like in this pencil is that you an draw a precise line you can wear it allday without smudging. It fades a little on the end of the day but you dont have the racoon eyes that mac-lancome-guerlain or drugstore lines usually make. The consistency of this pencil is similar to chanel's kohl but better. Another thing is that the black looks sofisticated which is difficult for a black pencil liner. I am pale nc15-c2 in winter and it looks really nice to my pale skin and green eyes. For me its a definite rebuy and at a lower price. The only thing you have to do is to charpen it with a sharpener of your own since it is not available with the pencil. I don't have problem I have plenty. Costs 17 euros and with the usual discount that they make somedays on the year you can buy it 13euros. With Givenchy 's kohl you have it all. Excellent quality at decent price and if you are on the search for a nice black liner this is it. I hope they will keep making it and I will go for the blue one too. BRAVO GIVENCHY!

Toners -Olay - Age Defying Toner
rated 5 of 5
frini 1/8/2011 10:28:00 AM

Olay's age defying toner is called here in Greece total effects toner. After the cleansing with the milk I put the toner and puts away all traces of milk and makeup. It really cleanses and purifies skin without making it oily or dry. It's an excellent toner for the skin. I have combo oily skin, prone to dehydration and this one makes my skin really really nice. Other toner's I have tried made my skin too dry,too oily, others where just moisturezing toners with no cleaning abilities(guerlain super aqua toner),this one here is one of the best for the price of 5 euros.I have come up to 4 bottles, since toner's finish more quickly due to their watery consistency. As long as I don't have issues with that I will keep up as long is it available. INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hamamelis Virginiana, Chamomilla Recutita, Potassium Phosphate, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Isoceteth-20, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Pentylene Glycol, Benzophenone-4, Sodium Propylparaben, Sodium Methylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Parfum, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, CI 14700, CI 19140.

Cleansers -Olay - Olay Age Defying Cleansing Milk
rated 5 of 5
frini 1/8/2011 10:13:00 AM

This is a review for the Olay's cleansing milk that in Greece is called total effects cleansing milk. I have been using it since last summer. My HG cleanser was Guerlain's cleansing milk but due to its price tag could not continue using it. Olay's milk cleanses me wonderfully. Cleanses my face everyday really well and moves really well the majority of my makeup. I have never found a cheap milk doing this so good. The only problem is that it is not designed for eyes and that you need an extra eye makeup remover. The skin on my face afterwards is cleaned not dry nor oily and has a very very slight fragance that majority could tolerate. I have used around 3 bottles since summer. For 5 euros I think is the most good investment I have done in milk cleansers. If It goes well in future as well , I will keep up using it as long as it is available and save money for something else. INGEDIENTS: Aqua, Isohexadecane, Glycerin, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Niacinamide, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Dimethiconol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Steareth-21, Steareth-2, Decyl Glucoside, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Carbomer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHA, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Alpha-Isomethyl lonone, Cl 19140, Cl 14700.

Moisturizers -Lierac - Deridium Balance
rated 5 of 5
frini 6/8/2010 5:49:00 AM

This is Lierac's moisturizer for the prevention and healing of the first signs of ageing for the age-group of 30's. I cannot tell you how much I adore this cream. I have combo skin prone to dehydration and this creams hydrates while mattifies the oilier areas of my skin. I am in the end of my first jar and after a two month use, my skin is really well hydrated plus I have no this greasy feeling on my skin. The thing that I love most is that it is a real cream. No those gel-creams that don't moisture or the super rich one that make skin really oily. I adore the pot too. Its a luxury to watch it every day to my beauty table and an appealing product,to not to forget and treat your skin everyday. Edit 14/7/10: My new HG moisturizer is total effects of Olay. Although this is a good moisturizer,my skin likes better Olay...Plus the Olay leaves skin well hydrated without greasing at all like this one. I will keep with Olay. The price ir really good for a moisturizer with anti-age benefits. It costs 32euros for a 50ml jar. And lasts a long time. I dont have lines actually to tell you whether is such an effective product, but makes my skin glow. I would highly recomend it to combination skins prone to dehydration and to those that like using a jar instead of a tube but also like a real cream for skincare. Ingredients:WATER (AQUA). Liquid -Guerlain - Parure Gold
rated 5 of 5
frini 4/13/2010 6:06:00 PM

Gave in and bought it. I am around NC20 and bought 02 Beige Clair. It's a good much but not Ideal. Pros:Excellent texture. It melts nicely on skin and makes it look flawless plus doesnt break after hours. Wise package and fantastic on look. Photoshoots well even though it isn't the perfect much for me. No glitter or shimmer. SPF15. Colours have a slight pink undetone specially selected for mature skintones but fits to all ages hopefully. Cons:Limited variety of colours. Colour 01 beige Pale that could possibly fit better to me,not available here. (it maybe be actually too pale, but this thing guerlain does, having the lightest shades available for asians only its awful. Caufcasian have pale skintone too). When applied is lighter than it actually turns on after application. Confusing for some people(test test before you buy) Price. I bought it on sales. Excellent foundation for all ages. Feels and sets nice and makes fantastic photos even though has spf. Pricy but would buy it again. Souper Pale beautys try 01 first if you can find. Not for really oily skins as it is quite hydrating, Does it worth it the price?Yes girls it does.

Moisturizers -Vichy - Liftactive retinol HA day
rated 3 of 5
frini 3/10/2010 12:54:00 PM

This is a new cream moisturizer from Vichy. It is created for all the type of wrinkles-permanent-reversible dehydraton lines and programmed. It's a new generation cream it combines hyaluronic acid+retinol A complex and has a spf 18 + UVA. It says that is for women for 30+ that have the first visible types of ageing. Ι am 28 and wanted to take a cream with retinol or other antiage effects, just to help the laugh lines to be hydrated more... I am a fan of Vichy brand, due to mother who is 62 and has excellent skin condition not only of her genes but on vichy also that she has been using for lot's of years. I keep seeing negative reviews for Vichy but its a pitty since it's a brand a lot of years on the market, popular on european pharmacies and with skincare that has very careful ingedients on decent price in Europe. I have been using this cream for 3 weeks now. I have combo skin with dry areas, oily in T zone with two small laugher lines. Well, I have mixed feelings about this cream because its very strange how my skin reacted the first days. At the beggining all my face was dry yes dry. I had a tight effect on the whole area of my face and used a simple moisturizer just to get rid of this feeling as my dry patches felt really tight. The good thing was that my lines started feeling through the first two uses. I am not kidding the skin around mouth that was so dehydrated before with this cream even though not moisturezing enough, reganarated immediatly. The second week stopped the moisturizer, and continued with the retinol cream and my skin was normal, not too oily, not too moisturezing and felt quite good. Now on the third week my laugher lines are better and skin just normal, but I notice a slight redness on my skin. I guess it's due to retinol. The only thing that I also notice is that I dont have issues with my dry patches around mouth for now. Maybe it will moizture gradually?I dont know, will update. I guess it's a good cream but I think I have these issues either on the fact that I don't have need for antiageing creams or because of retinol factor. The package is wise. It's designed for better storage of retinol. You bent the nose and comes out the desired quantity. I don't think I will buy it again not only because of how strange this cream reacts with my skin but because I don't feel the freshness I want from a face cream. Price: Its not so cheap for a drugstore product. 31euros for 30ml. Ingredients:aqua, octocrylene, glycerin, cyclohexasiloxane, ethylhexyl salicylate, butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane, dimethicone, poly c10-30 alkyl acrylate, butyrosprermumparkki butter, shea butter, hydroganated palm kernel glycerides, sucrose stearate, cera alba, beeswax, silica, stearic acid, dimethicone, methylparaben, sodium polyacrylate, sodium hyaluronate, retinol, phenoxyethanol, adenosine, disodium edta, hydrogenated palm glycerides, caprylyl glycol, acrylates, parfum.

Toners -Lierac - Refreshing toner
rated 5 of 5
frini 3/6/2010 12:42:00 PM

I have used already a product of this and I like it. It leaves the skin clean and fresh after the cleansing with milk and you feel your skin regenarated... This doesn't tiggle me at all, like the milk of this line...Actually it soothes my skin. It doesn't pull of my natural oil in combination with the milk and it feels nice and has a lovely smell also. Ingredients:WATER (AQUA). CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPE-FRUIT) FRUIT EXTRACT. MINERAL OIL (PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM). POLYSORBATE 60. PROPYLENE GLYCOL. SORBITAN STEARATE. CETYL ALCOHOL. ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT. DIMETHICONE. POLYQUATERNMIUM-10. HYALURONIC ACID. CARBOMER. TROMETHAMINE. MENTHOXYPROPANEDIOL. FRANGRANCE (PARFUM). PHENOXYETHANOL. METHYLPARABEN. ETHYLPARABEN. PROPYLPARABEN. BUTYLPARABEN. ISOBUTYLPARABEN. BENZOIC ACID. DEHYDROACETIC ACID. BLUE 1 (CI42090) I will rebuy it. But now I took the gentle line(pink bottle) as I feel a little dehydrated at the moment due to b/c pill...

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15
rated 3 of 5
frini 3/3/2010 4:53:00 PM

When rouge volupte came out on the market tested them immediatly and didn't find something to suit my skintone...As time passed I kept reading excellent reviews in MUA and always was on the thought of underestimating this product... I recently purchaged one in Rose Paris (29)is one of the new colours for spring 2010 and realized that I dont like this type of lipstick at all... I'll tell you why its the texture... Texture of this lipstick doesn't work for me. My lips are dry from time to time. I don;t have super dry lips but they are not in excellent condition all the time. This lippie is super creamy and the result is very very bold colour. I am surprised on how many people love this, because is not the average lipstick that could work on anyone. BEWARE of Mango scent, it's to potent and even though I like scent on all cosmetics, this is unbearable. Colour range: Honestly the only colour of this range that could work on the majority of people is Spicy pink IMO. Is a mid beige-pink with a little bit of radiance that seems good. The rest are l/s that might suit to individual persons as they are very different in colours and so potent...I don't know. Maybe for someone older that has super dry lips and a little bit odd skintone Price:32euros in Greece.-Same as allure's-chanel. Package is lovely: It has a small mirror on top that seems useful. Conclusion: If you want a simple good lipstick that works as a lipstick and not as a mask(its that potent), try MAC please for less. They are excellent. If you like a more fancy Package and a real lipstick that has a lot of better texture go for ROUGE G. It is really a beauty in all of it's kinds. And because of the bulky package, that I adore by the way and the 39 euros of course doesn;t get the love it deserves. My last advice is test before you buy. Its necessary.

Cleansers -Lierac - Refreshing Cleansing Milk.
rated 4 of 5
frini 3/2/2010 1:05:00 PM

I recently discovered Lierac' s products and I love them. They are created with the consept of phytocosmetics and are on nice fancy packages... I have combo skin and like to clean my face with milk and toner as it saves my hydrolipidic skin film...Soaps and water usually dehydrated as time pases. This milk puts of all traces of makeup, except the eyes it needs en extra with an eye-remover,cleans my face nicely and makes it refreshing without putting off natural oil. My only complain is that it tingles a bit...I tryed the gentle milk remover also that it is for dry/sensitive skin but it does the same not so much as this one though. That's why I took one lippie of. I have used a bottle and going to repurchage another one when the gentle line that I took this time finishes. Price: 19,70euros. Mid pricetag but really good. Package: Fantastic I have a photo that I am going to put it in the end of my review,I adore the dispenser. Ingredients:Ingredients•Normal and/or Combination Skin WATER (AQUA). CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPE-FRUIT) FRUIT EXTRACT. MINERAL OIL (PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM). POLYSORBATE 60. PROPYLENE GLYCOL. SORBITAN STEARATE. CETYL ALCOHOL. ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT. DIMETHICONE. Mascara -MAC - Zoom lash
rated 1 of 5
frini 1/31/2010 7:29:00 AM

I don't like it at all. 1st: It gives a little of volume but nothing too special... 2nd:It makes my eyes ichy-None of all the mascaras I have used have done this to me. 3rd:It comes off harldly even if with olive oil... 4rth:Its on the pricy side. 5th:Clumps and acts like the worst mascara of all... MAYBELLINE HAS BETTER MASCARAS FOR LESS... Don't waste money for such a crappy product,go for something else... My HG mascara is YSL Faux Cils... Have tryed and liked maybelline(Volume express turbo bust)2nd choise after YSL(if I am on a low badget).3rd Le 2 Guerlain.(I like it but comes out difficultly). Lancome has some nice mascaras also but I prefer YSL.Check those if you dont like scent on YSL. Don't waste money on Chanel Inimitable-Chanel extrecils.(Pricy and awful) MAC(for the reasons described). If you have nice big lashes propably the new chanel won't do (didn't work for me)...And dried out quickly...

Fragrances -Robert Piguet Fragrances - Fracas
rated 5 of 5
frini 1/15/2010 10:30:00 AM

Since I joined MUA I kept seeing in boards raves about this fragance. When it comes to perfumes I am very fond of real femme fragances and always on the search for the one...I live in Greece and cannot access easily this type of fragances. Here the majority of the department stores carry more commercial fragances...So to make the long story short was difficult for me to find and smell this... One day I saw it on strawberrynet and bought it unsniffed with a small risk on what will be like. Most jasmine or gardenia fragances smell horrible on me. My latest signature scent is poison the vintage one...Not the new reformulated version (it's not so different though but the oldest version was warmer) and reading reviews here saw tuberose was one of the main ingredients on FRACAS and POISON. I ordered it asked again in fragance board whether will i like it or not and they told me different opinions, mainly that its a perfume that had to be sniffed first. Well when it came to home and smelled it It was one of the most divine smells that I have found in a fragance...It is a perfume that it doesn't smell chemistry it smells tuberose in a clean gentle way. Now I am not an expert on the tones of fragances but in me its a floral tuberose warm smell. I feel like an impulse small girl when I am wearing it. If a man smelled this on me I think that he would smell the real femme. The woman that is all at once(mistress-wife-mother-sister) but not in a old way. I'd say the mature one. I was trying to find which flower is tuberose in Greece. The dictionary said tuberose is "temberi" or "diatsento". Searching encyclopedia couldn't find the common name that this has. When mother smelled she said INDITSI!!!It's INDITSI...A common flower that has been vanished the later years... FRACAS is one of my favourite fragances I don't know if I could make it my signature scent as it's so difficult to find...But if I lived in Paris I would wear tones of it...The sillage is exceptionel!Germaine Cellier is a LEGEND for me. i have a special relation with jolie madame as well... Its the QUEEN of femme fragances for me...

Moisturizers -Vichy - Aqualia Antiox
rated 4 of 5
frini 11/24/2009 2:04:00 PM

Aqualia ANTIOX for Normal to Combination skin. This one is a review for the tube that has the lighter texture. What the company says it is:An advanced moisturizer that has antioxidant properties and it suits better the ages over 25 years old that start the first signs of ageing.Refers to lack of radiance, slight discoloration and very slight marks to a young skin. Also it is a 24 h cream. How I find it:Fantastic! When you are over 25 and less than 30 and have a skin that it doesn't have any visible signs of ageing its difficult to find a cream for your real needs. The simple moisturizers are not enough, the first antiage creams too heavy and you cannot easy find a cream that works out. This for my skin does it all. It moistures,it gives radiance, it smooths all the small expression lines and makes skin feel extremely comfortable for an entire day and the best is that it doesn't grease. Also you feel fressness on skin. I have to say that i have combination skin, prone to dehydration and a lot of moisturizers make my skin feel dry in some areas. Even though I have this strange type of skin(oily in T-zone,dry under cheeks)this actually fix all these problems plus you feel it is more advanced than a simple moisturizer. Now for comparizon I can only compare it with Avene's Ystheal Emulsion that is for ages 25+ and have already used a tube of that and have to say that ystheal is indeed a good product has a little bit of more antiage properties and it firms a bit,but doesn't moistures enough and is a little bit heavy for a young skin. Also Aqualia Antiox it is a more efficient formula from the ordinary Aqualia line. I have been using this around 20 days until today. INGREDIENTS:Aqua, glycerin, dimethicone, octocrylene, ethylhexyl, salicylate, alcohol denat, propanediol, butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane, butyrosprmum parkii butter, shea butter, hedyldecanol, hexyldecyl laurate, sucrose stearate, silica, propylene glycol, poly c10-30 alkyl acrylate,cl14700,cl77891,cl77491,cl77499,cl77492,stearic acid, mica, glycolic acid, triethanolamine, dimethicone, dimethiconol, triethyl citrate, neohesperid, dihydrochalcone, sodium polyacrylate, phenoxynethanol, ascorbyl glycoside, tocopherol, disodium edta, boron nitride, caprylyl glycol, synthetic wax, xanthan gum, aclylates, fragance. RETAILS for 19EUROS here In Greece. Reasonable price for a cream. I will keep using it and rebuy a second tube. I am also looking for antiox serum that is a powder with 10% of pure vitamine C that lasts for 21 days in fridge and has a lot of benefits. But dont need this treatment at the moment. If you want a good and advanced moisturizer try it. But watch out if you have problems with glycolic acid. I dont have any!!! Update1/5/2010: I recently moved to an antiaging moisturizer of Lierac that I like it better. I am going to put a lip off because it is not good as a makeup base. Because of vitamin C or glycolic acid it oxidizes the foundation. I wont repurchage this one.

Skincare - Face -Vichy - LiftActiv HA yeux/eyes
rated 5 of 5
frini 10/20/2009 11:29:00 AM

Liftactive retinol HA yeux it's the complete name. What the company says it is:An antiage eye care that is for women between 30-40 and fights all the type of lines of ageing new and old. I'd like to say that I am 27 years old with no visible lines of ageing but a few lines of expression around mouth and no lines on eyes. However since I am getting older I started to feel that my skin needs something more than a simple moisturser around eyes, since the area is more sensitive. I am a lover of vichy range because it's a tested drugstore brand, has a decent price in her products, they are very effective for an average skintype and her products are not completely unscented (except eyecreams of course) which I like in her face creams mostly because i like a slight fragance on my face cream. I have been using this cream and it's around the half product that I have used. I apply it the way it said with the nice applicator that in the same package and its designed according to mesotherapy massage. Its a little tricky to find how to do it but once you got it you are into it. The sense on my skin around eyes is that it feels tighter, comfortable and after 2-3 hours has a nice fresh to cold feel that make your eyearea feel rest. I want to add that since I dont have any lines and cannot tell you if it dissapears the deeper lines, I put some of this cream on the lines around mouth well they are not very deep but they exist and made them better. Now they hardly show when I dont smile. It's a top cream IMO and I am sure it would work on other women bigger than me and with more visible signs of ageing. Now I have to mention that before I had been usingVichy- Myokine eyes(good but this is way better),Chanel-First signs of age(Awful this honestly is a real waist of money),Guerlain-Happylogic eyes(too heavy and scented),Guerlain Super Aqua(this was like plain water on me). Package:Wise!!! its like a dispenser but in the end its designed for immediate use in eye area-better for hygiene reasons also and according to methods of mesotherapy. Well I dont know if actually this works but its easier to handle. Price:27Euros in Greece. Not very bad for a such effective product and much cheaper from others in its category. I will repurchase for sure.

Moisturizers -Guerlain - Issima Happylogy
rated 3 of 5
frini 6/4/2009 4:33:00 PM

Guerlain has wonderful cleanser toners and other products but this doesn;t go with my skintype at all. I will keep up with somethin else as a cream but keep using the milk and toner of Guerlain as they are my HG products. Update 26/5/10: I gave one more lippie, because now that I dont have the dehydration problem, retried and was OK. I am not really satisfied as I dont like the fragance but its a good cream for ages 25+-35+ that need a medium type moisturizer not very light not very antiaging. In the market now with the popularity of retinol it's difficult to find a cream that is really moisturezing and has the first prevention anti-age benefits. I tried Super aqua refreshing cream from the aqua line and adore it. The problem with these two creams is that cost around 61Eur for 30ml. It's really pricy. Considering the Vichy retinol line costs 31Eur for 30ml. Lierac Deridium Balance 34Eur for 50ml is a much cheaper product and can actually be compared with the happylogy one as they are slightly close to the texture different fragance though.
