Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Anti dark circle roller
frickinradical 2/19/2013 7:13:00 AM
i quite like this product, it can be hard trying to get the right amount out with the roller ball design but after you've been using for a bit you develop a system. i can't complain about the longevity of the product, i've been on my first tube for 18 months! and i use it every day!!!! i find it cover my dark circles quite well (although i do have to wear a concealer with as well), it has a nice light texture and doesn't settle in any creases. so overall i really like this and will definitely repurchase
it's pretty good, and cleanses really well, but the price is a little ouch! i use it twice a week and i do like how it doesn't make my skin look red afterwards, and it does leave my skin quite smooth afterwards, but i wouldn't say it was better then any other scubs/cleansers i've tried. after i've used up the the tube i doubt i'll repurchase it, i'll go back to using my bootanics skin brightening scrub and montagne jeunesse masks, they do just as good a job as this scub and cost (combined) a quater of the price. don't get me wrong i'm not saying it doesn't work cos it does, very well in fact, it's just that at the price it is there is other stuff that works just as well for a fraction of the cost.
Mascara -Max Factor - Xperience Volumising Mascara
frickinradical 2/19/2013 6:41:00 AM
it's a decent mascara, i bought it after reading the reviews on here and thought i'd give it a try. it's alright, gives a bit of volume, but no length (i have long lashes any way so i don't need a lengthening effect). the first time i used it i was quite impressed that it didn't smudge, but since then i've found it smudges slightly and occasionally. i think for the price it's quite a 'regular' mascara, theres nothing that makes it jump out above the rest, it would have had a huge 5 lippies if it hadn't smudged :(
Concealers -Collection 2000 - Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
frickinradical 1/30/2013 6:44:00 AM
really great little concealer! i was using the illuminating touch one from collection 2000, but i think they've stop doing the lighter shade of natural, either that or it's just really hard to find. That's why i bought this one, i use the fair shade, it's really nice and light and covers my dark under eyes circles really well (better than the illuminating touch). The only thing bad i have about it is that i've found that it settles a little in the creases around the eye (whereas the illuminating touch didn't). got to admit collection 2000 have really good stuff at really good prices, i think that's because they don't do useless packaging.
i love their masks! i love the blemish mud, strawberry soufflé and the new very berry masks, i'm not keen on the peel offs (not just from this brand but peel off masks in general) cos they kinda hurt when you peel them off (although i do love the end product when you get it off in one piece!). i also love that it's all natural ingredients as well so you know there's nothing harmful going onto your skin. i had to stop buying the chocolate orange one as i wanted to eat it :) they last quite long as well, i usually make one sachet last 2-3 applications. i always buy them and will keep on doing so for the foreseeable future!
i honestly don't know what i'd do with out dry shampoo now, i'm completely addicted! in this line, i've used the tropical, cherry, urban, and blonde ones, i usually just buy which ever is the best value at the time but I think my favourite is the urban one, it's a really nice clean perfumey scent. it really is a life saver as i have quite oily skin so the next day after washing my hair it starts to look greasy (and washing it all the time is both damaging and time consuming with it being long) but just a quick blast and it looks fresh as a daisy.
Treatments (Eye) -Boots - No7 Lift & Luminate Eye Cream
frickinradical 1/18/2013 10:16:00 AM
I was given a small sample of this when i went to boots last week, so i thought i'd try it and see what it's like, and if it would get rid of my dark under eye circles. WRONG! it made them even worse! i looked like i'd had the roughest nights sleep ever! this always happens when i use an eye cream that says 'lighten' or 'luminate', so if you've had a similar experience with other eye creams designed to lighten the under eye area then AVOID this one! i gave it 4 lippies because i gave the sample to my mum to try and she loved it, and it did work (it just gave me black eyes)
Treatments (Eye) -Palmers - Line Smoothing Eye Cream
frickinradical 1/18/2013 10:05:00 AM
LOVE IT! really nice and creamy, hydrates and looks after the delicate eye area, contains all the right stuff to improve it as well. it does take a while to see a difference (so don't expect an over night miracle), roughly after about 2 weeks i saw a real improvement. i bought this in october and i'm just about at the end of the tube now (january) so it lasts quite a good long time (making the price even better) will defo buy again and recommend
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
frickinradical 1/18/2013 9:56:00 AM
when i first started using this i was really impressed, it stayed put all day and didn't smudge. now it barely last 10 mins before it leaves brown lines on my upper eyelid (luckily it's right in the natural crease, so i just rub and i looks like a natural shadow), and it only lasts a couple of hours before it's all rubbed off, and i'm only a month into using it so it's not as though the product is old. i'm kinda disappointed, cos it started out really good but i don't think i'll be repurchasing it
Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Glamour Ultra Care mascara
frickinradical 12/25/2012 1:32:00 PM
i bought this after reading all the fab reviews on here about how it never smudged, and how good at volumising it was. how disappointed i am with it now i've bought it, £8 down the drain :( ------------------------------------------------------- - it smudges all the time, i only get an hours wear before the little black smudges appear, and after i wore it on a night out to see a comedian (after a good laugh) I was HORRIFIED with the appalling heavy dark smudges under my eyes (trust me it looked horrendous!) - far too much product comes out with brush, it would give lovely volume if bourjois had designed the neck of the tube properly! (no excuses bourjois, that is a fault you should have spotted in development!) - i'll admit that it does look after my lashes, and they've definitely grown and look healthier, and they do curl my upper lashes quite good as well. -------------------------------------------------------- i really am disappointed with it, not about that it smudges, but because this is such a good mascara in the making, but in the making only. if bourjois could just fix the application so that the brush isn't over saturated, and fix the formula so it doesn't smudge then i would definitely buy it again, but till then i won't be repurchasing.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Bubble and Bee- Organic Anti-Aging Face Cream
frickinradical 12/25/2012 1:22:00 PM
BEST FACE CREAM EVER! thank you MUAers, being from the UK i would have never found this product and i am SO glad i did! I can firmly say i will never be buying another brand of face cream ever again! it has really improved my skin and my first fine lines that were starting to rear their ugly head have vanished, the dark circles under my eyes (genetic might i add) have gone (no other eye cream has EVER gotten rid of em)!...and i've only been using it for 5 days I honestly can't believe that something with only 3 ingredients can have such a fantastic result! I urge you all to buy some and try it for your self! the only negative i have is that i can't buy it in England, i have to order it from the US and the air miles i'm goin to clock up repurchasing it will make me feel guilty about my CO2 footprint :S ------------------------------ 3 months in and still using it, i'm about half way down my first tub, and still SO glad i bought it! and i can feel slightly smug that my skin looks healthier, and younger then all my friends ;) I can't recommend this stuff more! where ever you are in the world definitely give it a go, you'll NEVER regret it!
Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Active Naturals Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion
frickinradical 12/2/2012 9:29:00 AM
BEST MOISTURISER EVER! i have a very physical and demanding job, working outside in all weathers, and i constantly have to wash my hands, which really leaves them feeling awful, dry, and flaky. No moisturiser had ever helped before (i've used nivia norwegian formula, garnier body repair, and E45). this is the only product that not only leaves my hands soft BUT keeps them that way, all day, even after 15 hand washes! the only negative i have (and this really is grasping at straws) is that it's a bit expensive.
(this review is for the red capped one) LOVE IT! It has a lovely, delicate floral scent (the scent really lasts for most of the day). It's versatility is fantastic, I've used it in all 3 application methods but I personally prefer using it as a 'before shampooing' and 'finishing touch' product (I was AMAZED by how soft my hair was after washing). I even tried using it in all 3 application methods at once, but it didn't really make any difference to using it in just 1 of the methods. It has a very non-greasy, watery consistency so be careful you don't get it every where when using it. It's doesn't make your feel oily at all, but leaves it feeling light and soft. The only negative i have about it, is that it's de-frizzing ability is slightly lacking (this might be just with my hair) after about 3 hours my hair settles but underneath still feels a little frizzy (no matter how much i use). over all i tend not to need as much as they state in the directions, (and i have very long hair - about to the middle of my back) so it should last me a good long while. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +ve :) - Does pretty much what it says - Definitely leaves hair super soft! - VERY versatile and so easy to use - comes in 100ml bottle so TRAVEL FRIENDLY! - bottle is a lovely glass bottle (looks very luxurious) - very nicely scented - quite long lasting (a little goes a long way) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ve :( - de-frizzing ability is lacking a bit (the only reason why it lost a lippy) - directions on how to use on the back of the bottle are not good at all. For proper directions I found it's best to watch the videos they have on their website: http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/_en/_gb/minisites/extraordinaryoil/how.aspx?
These lip tint pens are such a great alternative to lipsticks and lip gloss's if you're after the 'natural make-up' look. It looks (feels when applying) like a felt tip pen, and has a lovely delicate fruity smell. the one I use is the perpetual plum which gives a really nice natural, rosy red colour and stands out really well against my pale skin. you just colour in your lips, not forgetting the corners, (they do feel a little dry after applying the lip tint), let it dry, then go over with the balm. the staying power is...good...but it's not great, but it's definitely transfer-proof! so you won't be leaving lipstick smears on glasses but it does start fading after an hour or 2 of daily wear. Over all it's a great little thing to have, but i wouldn't say it was better then any other lip tint i've tried. it is the only one that comes with a balm, but tbh any lip balm over lip tint will do the same trick. (and the balm that comes with doesn't last long either) I'd definitely recommend it to any one, just know that there are other lip tints that do pretty much the same thing at pretty much the price as well.
in a word 'BRILLIANT'. might be quite expensive to buy (about £12...ouch!), but you don't need much and lasts for AGES (i've had mine about 9 months and it looks likes it's never been used!) it gives a lovely, natural, rosy look and in 5 years time when i've finally used it all, i will definitely buy some more! (providing society hasn't collapsed by then and we're not living in a 'mad max' type world)
