Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
franticog 2/16/2008 4:56:00 PM
This and Cony Island Cotton Candy are all I wear. This is a tad pinker and CCIC is more beige. Just depends on my mood, which one I choose. A mani with either of these lasts a good 3-4 days! I do dishes and clean my own house as well as type all day at work. That is a pretty good track record! I also like these this color as a pedicure. Very clean and neat without color, like the foot models in catalogs.

Polishes -OPI - Coney Island Cotton Candy
franticog 2/16/2008 4:52:00 PM
This and Bubble Bath are all I wear! I used to only use clear polish on my nails but this give me that extra manicured look. I just use one coat and have no problem with streaks or pooling around my nail beds, if I use more than one coat, I do. Plus, one coat dries almost instantly! LOVE the new brush too.

Concealers -Cover Girl - Invisible Concealer
franticog 3/8/2007 1:26:00 PM
I use this everyday under my eyes. This is the only concealer I have found that doesn't settle in the fine lines around my eyes. I just dot it on (4 dots under each eye) and blend it in w/ my ring finger. The medium matches my face perfectly and dark circles and crepiness disappear. I have no trouble with this staying on all day or longer.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
franticog 3/6/2007 8:53:00 AM
I have this lotion in the pump bottle and it is a great product. I got the pump because I thought the squeeze bottle looked a lil old fashioned. I use it all over my body but I especially like it on my hands. I can apply it before I walk out the door and it keeps the backs of my hands from looking crepey (?sp) and it gives the skin on the backs of my hands a healthy "glow". There are no sparkles or glitter in the formula so I am not sure how Palmer's accomplishes it but I LOVE IT. I am 42 and need a little extra "glow" because age shows up in a woman's hands!! The smell is good enough although I am not a big fan of smelling like food, if I have to pick a food to smell like, chocolate would be it. I'll be getting a bottle for the office too.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
franticog 1/15/2007 1:11:00 PM
This is a great lotion for faces. It has replaced several things I used to use, like eye cream and nighttime moisturizer. One pump is all it takes because the lotion spreads so well. W/ this lotion my makeup go on flawlessly and my fine lines are not evident. I think the cream would be way too rich. And I do have very dry skin, I wouldn't rec it for anyone with an oil problem or who was prone to breakouts.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Excellence Creme
franticog 1/8/2007 9:02:00 AM
I usually use Clairol Natural Instincts which is not a permanent color (it's Level 2). I used Sahara, their lightest color. Lately, I have noticed a lot of gray hairs around my face that NI wasn't covering....sigh.....so I picked a permanent hair color in hopes it would cover my grays better. It was a toss-up between L'Oreal Excellence and Garnier Nutrisse. At Walgreens, Excellence had more color choices so I went with it. I picked an ash blonde color to match my natural hair color and it turned my hair a definite GREEN! In all my years with Natural Instincts, even using the ash blonde colors it's never turned my hair green! Since then my beautician told me to look for "golden" in the blond hair colors as opposed to "natural" or "ash" to avoid the green undertones. Another trip to Walgreens proved that Excellence doesn't seem to have many choices of blonde haircolor that are "golden". So back to Sahara NI semi permanent color I go. No looking back this time. A natural looking blonde blends in with gray better than trying to cover it with GREEN.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - French Manicure-Sheerly Opal
franticog 12/28/2006 10:18:00 AM
This is my french manicure nail polish set. I use this color more often than any of the other french manicure sets I have (which should be about all of them now!). I love how it looks on my toes, mostly. It is opalescent but not gaudy. Very classy, like a salon pedi I used to get.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Glazewear Dazzlers in Ruby Slippers
franticog 12/26/2006 3:54:00 PM
This is as close to red as I can wear, being light complected blue-eyed and blonde. I used to wear Mystique Glazewear from Avon for my red and recently I discovered that it is just too dramatic-looking for this down-to-earth gal. Ruby Slippers is a much more understated, natural way for me to put a pop of color on my face. I also didn't feel like it was too juvenille (being 40ish - I have to watch that). LOVE it, definite repurchase.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
franticog 12/20/2006 9:19:00 AM
If I do an aspirin mask and gently exfoliate once or twice a week (in the winter), my 42 year old skin stays soft and supple without any signs of dryness. I don't leave it on very long as a mask but I do work some extra water in and gently rub the areas that tend to be dry on my face (forehead & chin). After rinsing, my skin is wonderful. Then I moisturize and go to bed. The next morning, my Cover Girl TruBlend powder foundation makeup goes on much smoother and I don't have to worry about dry skin flaking underneath. The aspirin mask can be messy because you have to crush the aspirin and if you don't have a pill crusher w/ a little cup attached for mixing in water (.99 at Walgreens) it can be quite a pain. Aspirin is so cheep and I only need about 3 of them a week. So all in all, this mask is very cost effective compared to many other exfolition methods I have tried!

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying All-Day Lifting Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
franticog 12/20/2006 8:58:00 AM
I am in love with this concealer. I have it in the neutralizer color and it works great 4 me. It's all been said, creamy, a little goes a long way, love the pot it comes in, stays on all day. I feel more my age when I look in the mirror now.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Glazewear Shine in Iced Pink
franticog 12/19/2006 12:58:00 PM
I received Iced Pink as an early Christmas present. I am a 40 something and can't wear just any "frosty" pink color. This works on me, without making me look too juvenille. Love it, definite repurchase. I hope they don't dc it like they have with some other of my fave colors of Glazewear.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
franticog 12/6/2006 12:43:00 PM
This is a great moisturizer for day time. That said, it does tend to make my face greasy IF I am going without foundation (which happens only rarely on Saturdays). I usually use this in the a.m. before applying my powder foundation, it is just enough moisture under that.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle
franticog 11/10/2006 2:57:00 PM
This makes me sick at my stomach. I gave it to my daughter and finally had to take it away from her because I couldn't stand to be near her when she wore it! It is very strong, even if applied sparingly. Although it is a 'classic' there are many more pleasing fragrances out there.

Eyeliner -Prestige - soft Blend Kohl Eyeliner - Spiced
franticog 10/31/2006 12:07:00 PM
I have almost used up a whole pencil of this color. That is how much I reach for it. I have Leaf and Shraz but Spiced is my favorite. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, except I will repurchase for sure. One lippie off because I wish Prestige would make all these fab colors in a self sharpening formulation. Manual sharpening is a pain.

Shampoo -SAMY - for damaged hair
franticog 10/31/2006 11:54:00 AM
I have repurchased this shampoo/conditioner set for smooth hair (the one in the hot pink bottle) about 4x now. I love the clean, fresh scent and the way my hair behaves - I don't even need styling products when I use it. No static either. Nuff said!
