Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Designer Modelling Compact Foundation SPF 22

Today is my first day using this product, and so far, I am very pleased. I have fair skin with yellow undertones, and a 2 was the best match. #4 is slightly too dark and definitely more pink, and the 2 is a very fair shade with subtle yellow undertones. I do think that some may have a hard time finding a match, as the difference between #2 and #4 is very drastic. I am lucky that I found a match with #2. As for pricing, I've used more expensive foundations (SKII Airtouch as well as La Prairie Caviar) so this is pretty typical pricing for higher end cosmetics. The packaging is nice and luxurious, while still very minimalistic which I like very much. I love the brush that is included with this, and it is perfect to sweep the foundation over the skin. I recommend sweeping it from the center outwards. The coverage is certainly a sheer-medium but very buildable, and I was able to cover a small zit with it. I don't use concealer at all, and this did the trick just fine. The finish is fabulous; this is labeled as cream to powder finish, but it doesn't look cakey and powdery on my skin like Diorskin Forever compact foundation did (which I absolutely hated). It is pretty much traceless and left me with a nice smooth even finish right now (almost 10 hours after a long work day). I tend to have dry skin in the winter, but it didn't emphasize any flakiness. I don't have any pore issues, so I can't comment there. I do have sensitive skin, and this didn't make my skin react all all. I used La Roche Posay Toleriane fluid and Shiseido SPF 55 underneath. I think this is comparable to SKII's Airtouch, except that it has better longevity; the Airtouch lasts at most a few hours.

Crème -Bobbi Brown - moisturizing cream compact

I bought several cream compact foundations after my HG Shiseido Proudia foundation became discontinued. I tried Dior Foreverskin (hated it because it made my face look weirdly metallic/shiny and emphasized pores and fine lines). I also tried Vincent Longo (water canvas) and wasn't at all pleased because it was not blendable enough. I decided to give this a go, and was pleasantly surprised. I wear GA LSF 4, and found a perfect match with "Sand". It is medium coverage, and definitely blendable. I have combo skin, with very few fine lines, discoloration or pores, and this gave me a nice even coverage. The only reason I use foundation is to even the skintone, and cover up some slight redness around the nose and cheeks. The sponge it comes with is okay, but I prefer disposable makeup wedges because of hygienic reasons. I never really liked foundation brushes either. I dusted a very light coat of Cle de Peau loose powder, and this set it very nicely. It gave me a nice, even finish for over 12 hours of wear. Definitely recommend this to those looking for a blendable, cream compact foundation.

Powder -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Compact

After the rave reviews for this product, I decided to try this out. I didn't find it any different than other powder compact foundations I have found in the past. It emphasizes any dryness you have. I hardly have any fine lines or large pores, but it magnified this on my skin. The only good thing about this product is the color choices. I was able to find a perfect match with 021 Linen for my pale Asian, slight yellow undertone skin.

Lip Treatments -Shu Uemura - Principe Lip Serum

So far so good! I got a sample of this with my eyelash curler order and its making my lips very soft. It feels like a moisturizer, not a lip balm and it works like one too. My lips feel hydrated and the product is very lightweight, which is a plus.

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Fiber Xtension [DISCONTINUED]
fortunatecookie 7/19/2005 7:39:00 PM
I have found my favorite mascara. I have been looking for a good fiber mascara since Shiseido Dramatical Eyes is nowhere to be found in the US. This one is even better because it does not dry so quickly. This lengthens my short and sparse Asian eyelashes and does not weigh it down. My lashes stay curled the entire day after a coat of this. What I like best is that there is no strong fragrance unlike Anna Sui's similar product and this never makes the lashes look like spider legs. It is very natural but makes your eyes look very bright by bringing attention to it.

Can someone help me to locate this in the US??? I love this mascara. Next to Shu Uemura, I cannot use any other mascara. I tried Shu's Fiber Extension and back to this one. Its more lengthening than Shu's and doesn't clump.

YSL creates a nice eyeshadow with beautiful range of colors. The shadows are highly pigmented and create a wonderful finished look to the eyes. It really brightens the eyelids and last very long.

Eye Shadow -Chantecaille - eye shade
fortunatecookie 6/22/2005 12:31:00 AM
I really adore Chantecaille packaging. It is quite simple, but somehow unique. The pigment is very nice and last very long. The shimmer is added by use of crushed pearl. It is a very elegant eyeshadow. I have tried this in "Freesia" and it is a flattering color for anyone I think, especially Asians.

Eye Shadow -Pieds Nus - PN Graditional Eyes

Shiseido PN is my favorite for eyeshadows. The colors are fun and shimmery, which creates a happy and youthful look. I wish it is available here in the U.S. but unfortunately that is not so. The pigments are true to the appearance in the case and they last quite long.

Moisturizers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Soothing Protective Light Facial Fluid
fortunatecookie 6/22/2005 12:25:00 AM
This is the only moisturizer I have used which does not irritate my ultra sensitive skin. I have tried La Mer, SKII, Sisley, La Prairie, and finally this product. I love their line for sensitive and thin skin. My HG skin care product! All my family and friends have converted to using this, and this suits everyone's different skin care needs, from oily to combination to dry. I think it is perfectly created!

Liquid -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation SPF15
fortunatecookie 6/22/2005 12:23:00 AM
This is a nice foundation with good coverage for dry skin. It hydrates the skin and looks nice for fine lines. However, if you have oily skin, better to stay away from this foundation. I found I cannot use it in the summer months, but for winter it may be HG for some. Very expensive but worth it.

Loose Powders -Cle de Peau - Loose Powder
fortunatecookie 6/22/2005 12:20:00 AM
This is most finely milled loose powder I have ever tried. Does not have a strong scent and looks very natural upon application. If you want the best loose powder, this is the one I recommend.
