Makeup Brushes -Garden Botanika - Dome Powder Brush

Garden Botanika's brushes, along with Chanel's, have got to be rated in the top 5% of makeup brushes. They are so super luxuriously silky, heavenly soft and very dense. They never shed (even when washing in very hot water). I love this Dome Powder Brush along with Garden Botanika's eye shader brush, which is the ONLY brush I will use for eyeshadow. A finer shadow brush does not exist!! I even like it better than Chanel's shadow brush.
I ADORE this brush for applying my blush. It is very dense and heavenly soft. I've had this for several years and wash it frequently with soap and very hot water, and it never sheds (neither while I'm washing it nor applying blush). I always carry it with me and it's still just like new. This and my Garden Botanika eye shadow brush and domed powder brush are my only brushes. I have thrown away all of my many other brushes as they were all inferior to Chanel and Garden Botanika.
The previous reviews give a good description of this shade. The only blushes I use are MAC and NARS powder blushes, as I think they are the best of the best. If you like truly pretty pinks that are not too bright, I strongly recommend MAC's Dollymix, Coygirl and Pink Swoon (they look much nicer on than they look in the containers.) You can't go wrong with NARS Mata Hari either, however, this is very concentrated, so use it with a light hand. If you love pink powder blushes and can afford all four of them, then get them all. I don't think you'll regret it.
I'm pretty sure I've used every blonde eyebrow pencil ever known to humankind. I kid you not. I use this in "Soft Blonde" and it is, beyond all shadow of any doubt, my very favorite. If they ever discontinue this I will lose my sanity! Glides on with the greatest of ease, looks so natural, stays on all day. The best blonde shade I have EVER seen.
My all time favorite eyeliner in the brown tone range. This is a bronzey, taupey, goldish light brown shade with a very subtle shimmer. Glides on effortlessly, stays on throughout my workday, doesn't smudge. Looks especially great on blue or green eyes. Love, love, love it! FYI: I am 64 with golden blond hair, blue eyes, fair skin with pink undertones.
Have been using this every spring and summer since the sixties. It makes me feel sunny and bright. The oh so delightful fragrance lingers considerably longer than most shower gels. This and my beloved PERLIER HONEY SHOWER CREAM, which I use every autumn and winter, have been the only two constants in my bathroom every year for more than 30 years. Have used 100's of other shower gels in that time, but remain a faithful devotee of only the two mentioned above.
Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty - Herbal Cream Cleanser

Love this cleanser. It's been one of my night time cleansers for more than a year. I alternate this with Laventine's Olive Forte water soluble cleansing oil, as well as St Ives Apricot Scrub (the one in the jar, NOT the tube). These are all great heavy duty cleansers for removing every iota of all types of makeup. I am 64 with dry skin and I can not find one fault with any of the above cleansers. Incidentally, I use Cetaphil as my morning cleanser.
Foundations -Shiseido - The Makeup Cream Foundation

I have always preferred cream foundations as I feel they provide a more dewy look than liquids or powders. I have given so many other far more expensive cream foundations a chance, but they all paled in comparison to this brightest star of them all. I ALWAYS MIX THIS with a dab of Becca 'Pearl' Shimmering Skin Perfector. Prior to that I apply Smashbox Photo Finish 'clear" Primer. The total effect is sooooo lovely! It never looks as though I'm wearing foundation. When worn as described above there is no oily shine nor shimmer, no settling into pores or fine lines, and wears all day long without fading or changing color. I am terribly disappointed that this is being discontinued and I absolutely refuse to use any other foundation. Fortunately I bought 7 jars of this several years ago and my 3 remaining jars are still in excellent condition, plus I just purchased 2 more on ebay and 2 others on another beauty product website, so I won't be worrying about a replacement foundation for another four years or so.
Years ago I used to apply this exfoliator 3-4 times a week in the evenings before applying my treatment creams. It is fragrance free, has a wonderful light texture and absorbs immediately leaving no after-feel whatsoever. It is completely non-irritating; gentler than AHA's and glycolic acid, while doing as good, if not a better job. My skin no longer needs such frequent application, so for the past few years I've only been using this 1-2 evenings a month if I think my skin looks a tiny bit dull. I apply this prior to my night cream (Revive Intensite Creme Lustre.)
My longtime very favorite morning cleanser when all I need is a mild, light cleansing on skin which has been thoroughly cleansed the night before with a heavier duty cleanser. There is a good reason why thousands of dermatologists have been recommending this cleanser so frequently for many years.
I have been using this once a week for the past couple of years and it is my favorite masque. I am 64 with very dry skin. This has a lovely texture, exfoliates without causing any irritation whatsoever, is practically fragrance free. Does an excellent job at doing what an excellent masque SHOULD do. It is a nice, light textured cream which I leave on for about 15 minutes and then rinse off.
After decades of layering 2-3 treatment products on my face and neck in the evening, I have (for the past 7 weeks) been using only one and that is Revive Intensite Creme Lustre, nothing else. I couldn't be happier with the results. I am 64 and have been a skin and makeupaholic for 44 years. Trust me, I know a fantastic product when I come upon it! I have had several older MUA members ask me for my opinions on products. Please read my other reviews. I think you will find them helpful.
Simply put; THE ROYALTY...THE QUEEN MOTHER of ALL primers. In my opinion, this original version of the ever-expanding line of Smashbox primers, absolutely has no equal.
Highlighters -Becca - Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector

It simply does not get any better than this, and I honestly don't think any mfger will ever trump this Becca Pearl highlighter for years to come. I'm 64 and have been addicted to skincare and makeup for the past 44 years, so I think I know a top-notch, unbeatable product after experiencing it. I mix a dab of this highlighter on the back of my hand along with a dab of my very longtime favorite "Shiseido The Makeup Cream Foundation." That combo goes over my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in "clear," and absolutely no one can convince me that there is a better primer in the world than Smashbox's clear primer. My morning cleanser is Cetaphil (another longtime favorite), and my morning moisturizer is Chanel Sublimage or Dior's L'or De Vie La Creme (both extremely expensive but so well worth every penny.) I top everything off with my favorite MAC or NARS powder blush, and am inevitably so truly pleased with the end result.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this simply MARVELOUS product!! Better than StriVectin-SD cream and StriVectin-HS serum. Better than Liftfusion and the so many other products I've used from LaMer, Christian Dior, Clarins, Shiseido, Sisley and others. I'm 64 and have been a skincare product addict for much of my life. I have visited this site many, many times in the last 3 1/2 years and have purchased numerous products based on MUA reviews. Up until now, I have never been sufficiently impressed nor unimpressed enough with anything to feel that it merited a comment from me. However, Chanel Sublimage has definitely impressed me. For several decades I have always layered 3-4 serum/cream products on my face and throat in the morning and 2 in the evening. I recently gave away all my skincare products to my sister and find that I only need to use SUBLIMAGE in the morning and evening now and nothing else. It's so much quicker and more convenient for me and I no longer have the clutter of all those other containers. I'm extremely pleased with the way my face is looking now, and for the first time in my life I find myself going to work without lipstick or eye makeup (no shadow nor mascara,) and at almost age 65, I find myself suddenly getting compliments galore WITHOUT the makeup! Kudos to SUBLIMAGE which, incidentally, has a very nice silky texture, it's not greasy nor tacky, absorbs well, and has an agreeable fragrance. 3/01/07 ADDENDUM: Have now been using this for over two months and still loving it, but am now only using it in the morning and I alternate it with DIOR L'OR DE VIE LA CREME. They're both wonderful and work equally well. Are extremely expensive but so well worth every penny.
