Treatments (Eye) -Merle Norman - LUXIVA® Wrinkle Smoother Eye
flowerlover 1/7/2013 11:07:00 AM
Just another ho hum eye cream. I received a generous sample to try from Merle Norman. Used it up and did not see any improvement in the wrinkles under my eye. It didn't sting me and it had a nice feel, but saw no reason to purchase a full size of this product.
Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing Concentrated Therapy Cream

Darn, I really wanted this to work for my dry hands. I tried it because reviewers said it was thick. That is what I wanted to use with gloves at night for maximum treatment. It feels wonderful when I put it on, but the next day my hands and cuticles were dry and rough. Also, the tube is hard to control. You end up getting too much coming out. I prefer a jar so I don't waste product. I will return it and keep on looking for something to work for me.
Loose Powders -Mally Beauty - Perfecting Micro Fine Loose Powder
flowerlover 11/1/2012 10:58:00 AM
I gave this three lippies because this is a nice powder and brush and it does look very nice on my face. However, it is very expensive when you consider that .03 oz costs $44.22 after paying S/H and tax. I have been using Merle Norman's Luxiva Flawles Effect Loose Powder for several years now and am very happy with how it looks. The MN powder only costs $24.50 for 1oz and looks just as wonderful on my face as this more expensive Mally powder. You do the math. I sent it back and will continue to enjoy using my MN powder. WARNING: I posted this review on QVC (minus Merle Norman's name) and they rejected it! Since they didn't post my review, I think they screen the reviews so we don't always get the truth about a product. Listen to the gals here on Makeup Alley, NOT the reviews you see on QVC. We tell it like it is.
Eye Shadow -Mally Beauty - Eyelift Shadow Duo & Applicator
flowerlover 11/1/2012 10:52:00 AM
I purchased this in the browns from QVC hoping the applicator would perform the magic promised for a smoky eye. All I got was mudd! Not work the expense. I sent it back and won't try any more of her shadows. Warning: See my review on Mally loose powder. QVC would not post this review (I left out Merle Norman's name on the QVC review). Looks like they screen their reviews, so don't trust the reviews on QVC. Check Makeup Alley reviews first before you purchase.
Lip Treatments -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment for Lips

LOVE this product! It keeps my lips smooth all year long. Can't be without it especially in the winter months.
Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing with Aloe

Great hand cream! It helps dry problem skin with vitamins A, C, & E. A tiny amount goes along way and lasts some even after I wash my hands. Use too much and it will seem a little greasy. It has helped moisturize my dry cuticles as well. It feels wonderful on my hands. I will update once the cold winter comes on whether or not it helps to keep my skin from splitting around my thumbs.
Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm

This is a thick cream with lots of moisture. The smell is medicinal and goes away quickly on me. Only a small amout is needed to cover the neck and face. My only problem with it is that it does not soak into my dry skin. Hours after applying, some of it is still on top of my skin. How can it work well if it doesn't soak in all the way? I don't think I will keep this jar or buy this product again.
It feels nice on the skin BUT It did nothing for me. No improvements at all. I sent it back.
In a word, this styling product did NOTHING for my medium length hair. It claims to be a strong hold gel but didn't work for me. My hair had no hold at all and looked terrible. I couldn't wait to wash it out.
Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Argireline Cream

I purchased a sample to try this out and boy am I glad I didn't purchase a full size jar. They claim it's a topical alternative to Botox injections. They further claim that within minutes I would notice a lifted feeling and in 15 days a 17% reduction in facial lines. Well I used this cream for 15 days on my 11 lines and around my mouth. I saw NO improvement whatever. I doubt I will try any of their other products based on this experience.
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Pretty Nails Non Acetone Nail Polish Remover

Great product! I have been using this for over ten years and don't plan on using anything else. It works great, is inexpensive, and you don't have those icky cotton balls full of old nail polish when using a bottle of remover.
Wonderful! These sponges help scrub away facial impurities so you can get the most out of your skin care regime. I have been using them for about two months now and can really tell a big difference in the appearance of my skin. I wash with one in the mornings and my face looks better and my small lines seem less apparent. You can purchase them on QVC in a four-pack for about $15.00. One sponge alone will last for a very long time. I don't ever want to be without this product. Ladies, give them a try. They will really help your skin care products do more for you face after using them.
I like this concealer. It is smooth, creamy, blendable, and doesn't seem to settle in my fine lines. The color (10) is perfect for me. After trying many others from expensive to cheap, this is the best one I have tried so far. Not my HG, but until I can find something better, I will continue to use it.
Styling Products -L'Oreal - Studio Line Clear Minded Clean Gel Strong Hold
flowerlover 2/23/2012 11:57:00 AM
Just not enough hold for my heavy, medium length hair. It has a very thick consistency and a slight smell. Because it was so cheap ($2.99 on sale less .75 coupon), I was hoping it would work for me. If you need lots of hold, don't purchase this one.
YEAH!!!! Finally a WP mascara that holds the curl all day! I have searched for over a year to find one and thanks to all the reviews from the gals here on Makeup Alleiy I tried this one and hope they never discontinue it. I even emailed Cover Girl telling them how great it is and pleading they never discontinue this product. I keep looking in the mirror to check my lashes, and yes, they are still curled! The product doesn't give big volume but that's OK with me. I just want my lashes to stay curled so I can see them. Thanks again to all of you for stating over and over that your lashes stayed curled. :)
