Eyeliner -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Automatic Eye Liner
rated 4 of 5

I bought one of these in BK999 (black) when I was in HK. The formula is very black and not watery or weak like some other liquid eyeliners. The pen/brush applicator tip is great for doing a precise, winged look. To my dismay, the eyeliner started flaking off my lids after a few hours. ): I have very oily lids, and the only thing which stays on me is gel liner.

Mascara -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour
rated 3 of 5

This mascara made a good first impression on me as it did wonders to my lash length and coated my lashes well. The double sided comb applicator is also great for application - the side with the larger teeth coats your lashes and the side the smaller teeth gets rid of clumps. The mascara stayed on well all day and did not smudge at all. However, this mascara is a PAIN to remove! Even my oil-based make-up remover, which usually cleans up well, didn't do much to remove the mascara. I won't be purchasing this mascara again as I feel there are better ones out on the market.

Moisturizers -Eyeko - Cream
rated 5 of 5

I'm totally in love with this cream! It gives my skin a gorgeous shimmery/pearly look but isn't over-the-top and doesn't make my skin oily. I wouldn't use this moisturiser as a daily product but I'd definitely use it when I want to look glamorous. The cream is super cheap to buy from the Eyeko website, and it even comes with free shipping! I used an ambassador code so they threw in a few make up remover wipes, which is definitely a bonus for me.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Manicare - Artiste Stippling Brush 17
rated 1 of 5
flofloflo 7/21/2009 8:01:00 AM

Perhaps I ended up with a dud brush but this brush is absolutely terrible! First of all, the brush sheds like crazy. I've used it a few times and I've had to pick a load of bristles off my face each time. Secondly, the brush isn't dense enough to use for stippling, and the bristles aren't soft at all. The brush doesn't do much for me, and I always end up having to smooth out my foundation with my fingers or a sponge. The brush is a cheaper alternative to a pricey MAC brush but in my opinion it's nowhere near as good and not worth the $18. Additionally, the brush is poorly constructed - you'd be better off saving for the MAC 187. I'm pretty disappointed - I've been waiting for a range of cheaper yet good quality brushes to be released in Australia, but it seems like the Artiste range isn't going to be it.

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
rated 4 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 7:36:00 AM

I really like how easily my make up comes off with this balm. I only need to use a small amount of balm before I wash off my make up with water. It is quite expensive, but for me, it's worth it because I hate having to rub at my eyes for ages before my make up comes off. It doesn't dry out my skin, but then again, it doesn't get rid of the oilyness either, so I usually follow up with a facial cleanser.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 7:18:00 AM

Funnily, I got this as a gift from my grandma, who received it as a gift from my cousins. She said she didn't have nice eyelashes like mine! (I wonder if she was joking, because my eyelashes are short and sparse). I'm Asian, and I find that it fits my eyes nicely. I previously used a lash curler from another brand, and that one would always pinch my eyes and leave me tearing. I'm very satisfied with this curler so I will keep using it, although I'd love to try the Shu Uemura one.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmer's Shea Butter Lotion
rated 4 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 7:12:00 AM

I occasionally use this moisturiser as body lotion after showering. I personally love the scent, but I guess a lot of people can't stand it. It's a great moisturiser for normal to dry skin, but it won't do much for eczema.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
rated 4 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 7:09:00 AM

Smells yummy, but the smell is a bit overwhelming sometimes, which is why I prefer using shea butter as a body moisturiser. I occasionally use cocoa butter for my hands. It makes my hands feel nice and soft afterwards. Be sure to buy the bottle with the pump, as the regular one gets clogged up and is annoying to squeeze.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 7:06:00 AM

My HG everyday mascara! I love how it feels so natural. When I first used it, I couldn't stop touching my lashes in awe. It lengthens and holds a curl pretty well, but doesn't really add that much volume. It's not too dramatic, which is why I find it perfect as an everyday mascara.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
rated 1 of 5

Back when I was a make up newbie and hadn't heard of MUA, I read a review in a teen mag where make up artists were raving about Great Lash. So I decided to give it a go! In retrospect, I don't know why there's so much hype about this mascara. It's really not that great - it's quite liquidy and takes too long to dry, IMO. I'd always end up with smudges because I'd blink my eyes. It doesn't lengthen or thicken either, not to mention that clumps a lot.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
rated 5 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 6:53:00 AM

This is a must-have beauty and household product! It's great for removing make-up, relieving chapped lips and skin, creating your own lip glosses (with pigment), treating burns, and the list goes on!

Lips -Nivea - Lip Care
rated 1 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 6:50:00 AM

I hate to be a spoilsport, but I really dislike these lip balms. And yes, I've tried many of them - God knows why I didn't stop at the first one! I tried Repair and Protection and Hydrocare lip balms when my lips were chapped and hurting, and neither of them helped at all. The balm seems to go on really thinly/lightly, and I have to reapply it after 5 minutes. I even tried rubbing it on like crazy (I was desperate and my lips hurt!) but I couldn't get much on. Personally, I'd rather use Lucas' papaw ointment if I'm desperate for some hydration. I received the Cherry Kiss lip balm in a pack with some other Nivea products, and I wasn't aware of how NOT subtle the supposedly-subtle red sheen is! The first time I used it, I didn't realise it had smudged, and people were giving me weird looks. Turns out that I probably looked like I had let a toddler apply my lipstick. Also, I personally find that the cherry scent smells repulsive. I also own the Pearl & Shine lip balm, and out of all the ones I've tried, this one is the only one that is 'okay'. It's pearly with a muted shine, but when after I apply it, I always feel that I look like I'm deathly ill because it looks white-ish.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment
rated 5 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 6:31:00 AM

I had horribly dry and chapped lips for weeks, until I stumbled onto papaw ointment, which fixed my lips in two days! I carry this stuff with me everywhere I go, and I apply it before I put on my make up. I wonder if there'll ever be a more lip-friendly packaging - like a lip balm, seeing as many people use it as a lip product. The tube's not bad though - you can also slather the ointment on burns (in case of accidents!)

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 5 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 6:24:00 AM

Fluidline is my HG eyeliner! I've always had problems with smudging eyeliner due to an oily eye area, but fluidline has always stayed put. It's very long lasting and waterproof. I use an angled eyeliner brush, and it goes on incredibly smoothly although it does tend to dry quickly. The tiny glass pot is cute and holds a surprising amount of product. It's a bit expensive, but it'll last you a long time. Remember to put the lid back when you're done because it can dry out quickly.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
rated 2 of 5
flofloflo 4/3/2009 6:15:00 AM

I'm not really a fan of this mascara. It clumps like crazy, and doesn't separate the eyelashes. I don't feel like it gives me the faux cils look. On the upside, it lengthens and smells really nice!
