Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Rubenesque

Pretty color but the creasing with this product is ridiculous! I much prefer soft orchre or Urban decay primer potion.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by Opi - Mash Up / Will Schuester (Glee)
flipper5577 1/27/2011 2:51:00 PM
Described as a opaque opalescent gray by Sephora. To me it is a warm steel medium gray. Not a bright silver. Not a dark slate color. It is very pretty on the nails and even prettier with a coat of "flurry up" sparkles. Adds a nice dimension. Usually Sopi nail polishes last a week w/out much chipping so we will see if Mash Up will too! The only down side is that this special Glee collection is $9.50 a bottle rather than the normal $9.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI LOOKS LIKE RAIN DEAR
flipper5577 1/6/2011 12:00:00 PM
Love this gold nail polish! It is much better than last year's holiday edition gold "Worth my weight". You could get away with one coat but two is better. It is even prettier if you apply "Only Gold For Me" (clear with chunky and micro gold glitter) on top. Since the glitter is larger it creates cool patterns. It lasted over a week on my nails. It did take a little work to get all the glitter off but well worth it. Got a lot of compliments and could see wearing this during the summer.

Polishes -MAC - Bad Fairy (LE)
flipper5577 10/11/2010 5:33:00 PM
Love the color! I used a base coat, three coats of BF to get a solid color, and a top coat. 2 days later the tips are already chipping. At $13 a bottle for BF, I would rather spend my money on Sephora OPI ($9). I have had much better luck with the SOPI not chipping for close to a week.

Eyeliner -Prestige - E-24 Black-Brown
flipper5577 12/31/2009 5:52:00 PM
I love this eye pencil so much more than my Mac Photogravure Technakohl liner. It is also my favorite color of the Prestige eye pencils. Definitely makes my dark brown eyes pop. I usually apply Urban Decay primer potion to the lid and then Prestige Black-Brown eye pencil to my upper lash line and water line. Then a little to my lower water line. Then seal/smudge the liner with a dark brown eyeshadow. Makes my lashes look really lush. The best thing about this product is that you can usually find it at cvs or ulta for under $4.50. Yea!

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Under My Trench Coat
flipper5577 11/8/2009 7:49:00 PM
Very pretty neutral color. It is on the warm side. Khaki (sometime appears beige and sometimes a warm gray) with golden shimmer pretty much describes the color. I really like the Sephora OPI formula. It dries some much faster than regular OPI. I know this because I painted my toes with regular OPI and my fingers with Sephora OPI at the same time. I find that using the Sephora OPI Nail Colour Drying Drops - Drying Drops really speeds up the drying time. Works best with a base coat, two layers of polish and a top coat.

Fragrances -Gucci - Flora by Gucci EDT
flipper5577 11/5/2009 3:23:00 PM
I was really hoping to love this perfume. I was looking for a clean floral scent with peony and rose. I think it is the sandalwood that makes this much more of a warm musky smell rather than clean scent like Stella by Stella McCartney. I am not much for musky scents so unfortunately Flora is not really for me. BUT like others have pointed out this TOTALLY smells like Exclamation Perfume by Coty from the 90's.

Scrubs -MAC - Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
flipper5577 11/2/2009 9:33:00 AM
Yes, I jumped on to the Volcanic Ash Exfoliator bandwagon after reading/watching all the great reviews. I did not love this product nor did I hate it. The smell did not bother me and I did like that you could squeeze the product out of the tube. I found that the exfoliants in the product (natural Volcanic Ash with fine sugar crystals) would dissolve within seconds of getting the product on my face. Not much time to actually exfoliate my skin. I much prefer Philosophy's "The Microdelivery Peel", LUSH's Ocean Salt, or Neutrogena's Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
flipper5577 10/28/2009 12:34:00 PM
I was using Philosophy's Hope in a Jar and decided to give Cetaphil MC a try mainly because of the reviews on here and the price. Hope in a Jar is $38 for a 2oz jar where as Cetaphil is about $12 (depending on sales and coupons) for a 16oz tub. Cetaphil is very thick and creamy and doesn't really sink into your skin when you first put it on. It is almost like there is a thin layer of cream on the surface of your face. This is probably because the second ingredient in Cetaphil is petrolatum. It definitely makes your skin very soft and I have not had a problem with break outs. This would be the ideal cream for cold winters when your skin gets chapped.

Nails -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - 212
flipper5577 10/27/2009 7:11:00 PM
I was suckered into getting this too after seeing the ad on the sephora website at check out (great marketing technique). It shows up more like a dark chocolate brown because of all the gold and copper flecks. I love how the size of the flecks vary. Makes it much more grown up with an edgy elegance! Goes on smoothly. Two coats and I was done! Hope Sephora comes out with more multi-dimensional nail polishes!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Fig. 1
flipper5577 10/9/2009 12:11:00 PM
This eyeshadow is totally underrated. It doesn't get much love but it is the most gorgeous matte purple/eggplant color in the MAC collection. Perhaps it is because of it's boring name or that it doesn't pop in the pan but it is so pretty on. It is also a matte2 which makes it super easy to use and the color payoff is excellent. Mac seems to be slowly discontinuing the matte2 shadows. Hope they never discontinue this one. If you love purple eyeshadows then this is a must have!

Loose Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
flipper5577 6/23/2009 1:06:00 AM
I was really excited about this product initially and loved the soft matte finished. I did not love the container. It is hard to just get a small amount on the lid and on to your kabuki brush. But if I put too much on the brush I end up looking pale. My husband first started telling me that I looked too pale but I really noticed it when I went out for a bachlorette party and photos were taken with a flash! Horrible. I look like a ghost. I was so sad. I think this works well on gals with lighter skin tones but not so much on tanner/darker girls. :(

Eye Shadow -MAC - Créme de Miel
flipper5577 6/18/2009 12:27:00 AM
I have been searching and finally found the PERFECT TRUE GOLD eyeshadow! People have compared it to Nylon but I thought that Nylon was much frostier and whiter. It is much yellower/golden than Femmi Fe, Flip, Sugar shot and Soft Force. Color wise it might be similar to Honey Lust or Honesty but without the insane fall out! I love the Veluxe Pearl finish. It is gorgeous as a highlight or an all over wash on the lid. I have been wearing it all over the lid with handwritten in the crease and mulch blended into the outer third of the eye. The payoff is pretty good. You don't need a lot to get it to show up and super easy to blend. I highly recommend using a primer or paint point with this shadow to maximize it's staying power.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #168 Large Angled Contour Brush
flipper5577 5/22/2009 3:28:00 PM
I was originally using this for contouring but the Mac MA suggested I use it for my studio sculpt foundation. It is AWESOME with studio sculpt. Super easy to blend in. No fall out! I <3 it! And after I apply the foundation, the brush is a little damp so I then apply so ceylon MSA in the contouring areas (cheek bones, jaw line, etc).

Eye Shadow -MAC - Deep Purple Pigment
flipper5577 4/7/2009 2:30:00 PM
At first I thought that this pigment was very similar to Nocturnelle Eyeshadow but it is not. This is much redder in comparison to Nocturnelle. This is more of a burgundy/violet red/plum color. Nocturnelle is more of a blueish purple. Deep Purple Pigment is very pretty and would look awesome with artifact, constructive or blackground paintpot. It is very vibrant even with soft ochra paintpot. I got a small sample of the pigment but can't image how long it would take to use an entire jar. Althought this pigment would look great as a nail polish. Maybe?
