Treatments -Kinerase - Dr. Lewinn Skin Tone Perfecting Serum XK
fleetgoddess21 12/13/2012 10:14:00 PM
I bought this specifically to help fade some scars after a horrendous case of staph infection that I thought was shingles gave me a series of scars all down my side, right between my breasts and on one side of my face. I began using this two weeks ago, and each spot was anywhere from a pea size to a quarter size, red and new scar-like. I began applying twice a day to each area. Two weeks later all but the very worst scars are gone and the worst one is so faint that only I and my boyfriend can tell where it was. This has helped my ski overall too. I haven't had any new breakouts, my old acne scars are almost gone, and my skin feels amazing. This is a staple that I will buy many backups of because it is so amazing.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Highlighting Brush
fleetgoddess21 3/15/2012 1:24:00 AM
I have several duofiber brushes as they are my very favorite for face products. I've got the Mac one, the older sigma version, the newer sigma version, this one, and an ecotools one. My fave is definitely the MAC one, then this one and the newer sigma one are tied for second. This brush is a very good drugstore version, but it's not quite as dense as the mac one, so very bright pigmented blushes don't go on quite as airbrushed as with my mac brush.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
fleetgoddess21 3/14/2012 3:25:00 PM
I've been using MAC Face and Body foundation for the last year and it is my absolute holy grail, everyday foundation. But I needed something with a little bit more coverage for those times when i was a little more broken out to help cover it. The price was about $7 at Fred Meyer, and it has a very nice natural finish. It's not super matte, which is good because i hate matte powdery finishes, but its not as dewy as my MAC F&B. I'm about a NC20 in the winter time and a NC40 in the summer as my heritage allows my skin to tan very easily. I bought this for my winter skin and I grabbed 103 true ivory. It's a great match to my skin and I'm really pleased with how it doesn't feel super heavy on my skin like Revlon Colorstay did and gives the same coverage. I'd totally buy this again.

Polishes -Hard Candy - Frenzy

Such a lovely bright turquoise. Cream turquoise polishes are my absolute fave and this is an excellent one at a great price. Opaque in 2 coats, dried quickly and was shiny even without a topcoat! I'd totally buy this again.

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
fleetgoddess21 2/28/2012 7:45:00 PM
I held off for so long on buying this because i felt that $7.50 was a lot for a chapstick. But honestly I was paying $3.50 for burts bees and it was not cutting it. If my lips are dry, they peel and i nibble at it to try and get rid of the peels which makes it worse. This has absolutely saved my lips. I have never felt a balm that was so moisturizing and amazing.I love this in the natural mint and shea butter cause it tingles and plumps a little bit and really really moisturizes my lips. I mean, i'll put this on and my lips won't be dry until the next day. It is worth every penny and I will continue to purchase this forever.

Highlighters -Hard Candy - Show Girl's Secret Glitter Glue
fleetgoddess21 2/28/2012 6:37:00 PM
This works great as an inexpensive mixing medium that is better than just using water. It's got a little more oomph to it. I've been using it to mix my MAC pigments and my Sugarpill chromalusts and it has been awesome. I fully recommend it and the little brush is actually quite useful. I recommend shaking a drop into the cap of the pigment and then adding pigment as necessary and mixing. Love it for foiled looks!

Polishes -Essie - Dive Bar
fleetgoddess21 2/14/2012 3:19:00 PM
Dear god I'm in love. I adore moody complex dark colors besides just gunmetal and black and this absolutely nails it for me. I love blues and emeralds and teals but this color is so unusual and complex with its darkness. Its so incredibly smooth too. Sometimes I love Essie polishes and sometimes I really hate them. This one is a huge huge love.

Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner
fleetgoddess21 1/25/2012 9:40:00 PM
It's slightly sad how many of these I own. sadly, they've only brought 3 colors over to the U.S. so far, but I really hope they bring more over. I have probably 4 pots of Midnight in Paris (black), 2 of London Baby, and 1 of Berlin Rocks. I'll do an individual and overall review of each. Midnight in Paris is one of the darkest black liners I have every come across in any form. It almost seems liquid because it is so dark. I have used so many gel eyeliners (MAC fluidlines, Stila Smudgepots, bobbi Brown gel liners, Maybelline gel liners, etc). This one is my absolute favorite. The texture is almost like a liquid combined with a gel; almost mousse like. It glides on so easily with a brush. No pressing really hard to try and get the color to be as pigmented as it is in the pot. It's a really jet black and it's my go to liner for any look. Plus it's really really waterproof. London Baby is this gorgeous taupe-gunmetal shade that is so great for light makeup looks because it enhances every eyecolor, and defines the eyes without being harsh. I adore it for its uniqueness and it has the same great texture as the other gel liners and great staying power. Berlin rocks is a very very good purple liner. Its not a bright purple, but more of a smoky purple. It looks great with my blue-grey eyes, but i think it would look stunning against hazel, green and brown eyes. Overall, these are some of the greatest little drugstore gems in a very long time. I keep one on my at all times for fear of being without them. I've gotten my sister and soooooo many people hooked on them. One note of caution: make sure you unscrew and look at the product firs as some people will stick their finger in to feel it and be expecting it to be much harder than it is and leave a giant finger print in it. So make sure yours isn't one and you are making the best purchase for under $4 that you have in a long time.

Conditioner -Queen Helene - Cholesterol Hair Conditioning Cream
fleetgoddess21 1/25/2012 12:34:00 AM
I've bee using this for about 3 years on my hair. I am hungarian, scottish and dutch with very dark brunette hair that is wavy, fine in texture, and very very thick. My hair comes down to my waist and dries out easily. I literally have enough hair on my head for 3 people according to hairdressers. And thanks to this gem, combined with the cholesterol hot oil treatment, my naturally dry hair is always smooth, lush, and frizz free. How I use this is I first cater to each section of my hair: I wash it only every three days alternating between a moisturizing shampoo and Lush Big shampoo to clarify it. After shampooing, i take a glass of hot water and place the hot oil treatment in it and let it warm up. While that warms up, I put a lightweight volumizing conditioner on my roots, a moisturizing conditioner in the middle section of my hair, and the lower half of my hair gets about a tablespoon of the oil treatment, and then a good finger scoop of this conditioning cream put on over the lower half to my hair. This super rich cream seals in the oil to really let it soak in to the hair shaft and i put it up for about 10-15 minutes to really do its magic. I then rinse my hair in cold water and towel dry. I put argan oil in the lower half of my hair, apply a salt spray all over to keep my waves nice and then I sleep on my hair. I wake up with supermodel waves that are super shiny and soft after this. My hairdressers have said they have never seen anyone with healthier hair and i usually go a minimum of 3 months in between cuts. This hair routine is never going to change as my hair just absolutely loves it. If you haven't liked this cream before, try it with the oil first.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
fleetgoddess21 11/19/2011 1:41:00 PM
I was very sad when my favorite Sensaria cleanser was no longer available as the company wen tout of business, so I had to start a hunt for a new cleanser. I'd always heard about this cleanser and it seemed to have rave review on youtube from my favorite gurus, but on here the reviews were very mixed. I bought it anyway to give it a shot and I figured I could return it if it didn't work. I have dry skin that likes a lot of moisture and can sometimes have acne flareups right around my mouth. This has worked wonders! at first i thought it was nice but nothing special and then I realized that about after 3 weeks, i didn't have anymore acne around my chin and I hadn't had any flareups in awhile. I'm so in love with this cleanser and I don't think I'll ever be switching.

Polishes -Milani - One Coat Glitter - Gold Glitz
fleetgoddess21 10/13/2011 6:41:00 PM
An ode to Milani Gold Glitz. You are the best gold glitter, You make my heart go patter pitter, To see you twinkling on my nails, Brings me joy that never fails. Seriously, this nailpolish is the best thing I have found in a very very long time. I bought it on a whim because i was sick of glittering my nails with sprinkle on glitter or billions of coats of sparse glitter that were all one hue. Instead, this glitter is a mix of warm golds, cool golds and copper. It gives it the most amazing, in depth appearance that is so unique and special. And the one coat claim?! You really can get away with one coat, if you go clowly and make sure you cover all the areas. I did have to do 2 coats on my big toenail because the're wasn't enough polish on the brush, but otherwise, you could get away with one. I end up always doing 2 for durability, but it's nice to know it's possible if I'm in a hurry. Without a topcoat, this has a semi-matte suede appearance. But with 2 coats of Seche Vite, this has the most glorious glimmering shine to it. Needless to say, I ran back to my local FRed Meyer and bought this polish in every color available. No longer must glitter nails be difficult to apply! and these are pretty easy to remove too. I'm going to buy so many backups of these colors in case they are ever discontinued.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
fleetgoddess21 3/13/2011 1:40:00 PM
I own both versions of this palette: the one with the duo-ended 24/7 liner, and the one with the Good Karma eyeshadow brush. I am a girl who loves very different eyeshadow looks. I love bright, obnoxious unusual looks, but I also love makeup that is sexy natural and bronzey. I missed out on this palette last summer and finally go ahold of it when they released it again. I adore Urban Decay and was so happy to finally have one of my own. And then when I realized just how amazing this palette was and how easy it was for travel, i knew i needed another one. I waited and when it came into stock again, i snagged another one. The colors are so versatile and smooth and have fantastic payoff. And I can't tell you how happy i was to not see "Midnight Cowboy rides again" in here. that shade can be such a pain to work with. This palette is wonderful and i'm so happy i got a back up. It's worth trying to get your hands on this.

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head Manipulator
fleetgoddess21 3/12/2011 5:30:00 PM
I've had this product for awhile and haven't used it, but i picked it up on sale at TJ Maxx because i'd heard it was good. I have long hair(down to my boobs) that has layers throughout starting around my chin. My hair is naturally wavy and has a medium-fine texture and a lot of hair on my head. I've been trying to figure out the best use for this on my hair and i have found it. This is great for giving my hair some extra texture when I want to do braids in my hair. Normally my layers make it that i need to braid my hair very tightly in order for it to stay and it doesn't have that effortless look when I have to do that. So when I do is take a finger tips worth of product, rub it between my fingers until it's spread evenly and then run it through the lower sections and layers of my hair. Then I tease it a bit for a little bit extra oomph, and then can braid it in either a normal braid or a fishtail and it looks fantastic. This will last me forever with the amount i need so i won't need to buy again for a long time, but it's worth it.

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
fleetgoddess21 2/28/2011 7:58:00 PM
I've haunted blogs and MUA about this foundation forever because I thought it was going to be my holy grail foundation. I was right. I have a fairly neutral undertone, but it does lean slightly gold due to my Dutch and Hungarian heritage, but my Scottish genes also give me rosy cheeks. So foundations are often leaning too much to the yellow or too much to the pink on me and I hate mixing foundation every morning so I tend to like tinted moisturizers best. I also really hate heavy foundations because nothing looks worse too me than that girl who has wayyyyyy too much foundation on and it looks horribly caked up. I prefer a dewy or satin finish.I don't need a ton of coverage because I only have occasional blemishes, very few scars and a little bit of rosy cheeks that I like to even out. This is PERFECT. This is water based, so the feel on your face is very light, moisturized and almost velvety in a way. It literally looks like my skin but in it's best form. The finish is just lovely. Your skin screams healthy from it's pores. I do find that I prefer to apply this with my fingers since the heat really gives it a perfect melt-into-your-skin-and-isn't-sitting-on-top finish. I love the squeeze bottle It is so easy to dispense just the right amount of product and it's not messy at all. I tend to use a nickel size blob for my entire face. and then I'll take a pea sized blog again for any areas I want a little more coverage on that day. Plus, the size is awesome. 4 fl oz for $32? It takes me about 6 months to go through a 1 fl oz bottle of foundation so this should last me about 2 years and the MAC artist said it has a shelf life of just about that. So if I normally spent about $11 on a drugstore foundation every 6 months, this is actually a better deal and a way better choice for me. N2 was a perfect match for me and will actually match me most of the summer I think except for possibly August when I am darkest. I will repurchase this again, again and again. I also recommend this is your athletic. It's water resistant and is meant to last a long time on you and I have no problems with it keeping up with my active lifestyle. I'm honestly not sure if this would fare well with oily skin though. On my dry/normal skin, it's the best thing ever, but I could see oily skinned people feeling a little greasy from the dewy finish and moisturizing properties.

Highlighters -Hard Candy - Glow All The Way in Doll Face
fleetgoddess21 2/24/2011 1:44:00 PM
This is fabulous for layering under foundation for a dewy look. I find my Benefit's high beam can get overdone very easily and this is very hard to overdo. What i do is apply the Hard Candy primer(either the original, skin perfecting or illuminating) on after I apply my moisturizer. I let it sit for a minute, and the I take less than a pea sized amount of the glow all the way in doll face and apply it to my cheeks, temples, bridge of nose, cupids bow, collarbones and brow bone. Then I use my MAC Face and Body over it and I have a gorgeous, dewy, luminescence to my skin that screams healthy. for $8, you really can't beat this. I also have the glamazon bronze one and it's wonderful too.
