Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
flchick75 8/13/2012 9:49:00 PM
I have been searching for a good face cream that doesn't cost a ton of money. I always ended up just using the random gift with purchases from the department stores but the fragrance (including oil of olay). I wanted something that I could stick with that was good but couldn't seem to find something I liked. My dad recently had an upper eye lid proceedure and a lazer treatment under his eyes. The plastic surgeon recommended this product. While staying at my parents house for a few days, I decided to give it a shot. I liked it so much that I bought a bottle at Sam's for only $10. I am SHOCKED at how well this product absorbs, no one can knock it until they try it. i realize everyone's skin is different but it does not sit on my face. I can put makeup on almost immediately afterwards. I was expecting it to thick and never thought I'd want to put it on my face so I was very pleasantly surprised and happy I discovered this product. The fact that I can buy it at a reasonable price at Sam's makes me even happier :)

Polishes -Butter London - Primrose Hill Picnic
flchick75 11/2/2011 9:48:00 AM
This polish looks JUST like OPI in Rich and Famous so I bought it hoping it would last longer. The finish is pretty dull with just a little shine. If you like shine, you definitely need a topcoat. The high price tag didn't thrill me but I had a $3.50 off at Ulta and I had heard they last longer so I figured I'd give it a shot. These polishes don't last any longer than OPI, China Glaze, etc. I do not know what gives them the right to have such a hefty price tag quite honestly. My nail polish chips the very same day I put it on. Yesterday I put it on around 12pm and then took a bath at 8pm and it had completely lifted off my right middle finger like saran wrap....I couldn't believe it!!! That's never happened to me with any other nail polish before. Everyone gets so hyped up about new products and assumes because they are expensive that the MUST be good but that is not the case. This is my first polish to try though, I also got SNOG. Hope the other colors wear better than this one does or I won't be buying anymore that's for sure!

Blush -MAC - Sweet as Cocoa
flchick75 4/19/2011 3:56:00 PM
This is my HG blush, its been a fav of mine now for 4 years. Its like a blush and bronzer in one. I love it but I didn't feel like it had quite the cult following I feel it deserved so I was surprised to see how much others love it too. Right now 93% would buy it again. Sweet as Cocoa is definitely on the darker side so I wouldn't recommend it for people with very fair skin, I am an NC35 with MAC and it looks great on me. It's not just for people with darker skin. This blush is especially great for Summer but because I live in FL, I wear it year round. It gives me sculpted looking cheekbones. Just a tip here: It does give a sheen so I don't recommend putting it on your forehead, I use a matte bronzer like Estee Lauder Bronzed Goddess for that and for under the chin. This blush will continue to be a fav of mine for years to come!!

Blush -MAC - Style
flchick75 4/19/2011 3:26:00 PM
Just saw this review on the main page and thought it was funny because I just bought this color two days ago and absolutely love it. Bored with the typical pinks and pinkish reds. I know peachy colors are in right now. This color is perfect because its more natural than most peaches and just gives me a sun kissed glow. I LOVE the finish too, its not shimmery but kind of shiny...definitely not matte...hard to explain but gorgeous. Especially love it with a MSF on top of it across top of cheekbone, I use Cheeky Bronze which was limited edition but was was a peachy color as well. It would also look beautiful with a golden MSF. Its perfect for spring/summer!!!!!!!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
flchick75 3/29/2011 4:42:00 PM
Lets just say I was one of the biggest skeptics of this product. I don't go along with all the hype I hear just because everyone is talking about it. Many products don't deserve the good reputation they have so I decided to purchase the Mia in Dec 2010 and give it a go and decide for myself. I have never owned one of their toothbrushes either. I had originally planned on purchasing this item and using it religiously for 2x a day for 3 weeks and see if I got good results. The packaging and reciept were huddled up in my closet and ready for a march back to Sephora if it didn't work out for me when the deadline was up. The lady at Sephora said, "we haven't had any returns or problems that I know of." I thought to myself "yeah I'll probably be the first." Well let me cut to the chase: I have had it now for 3 months and I absolutely LOVE MY MIA!! Every day for the first week, my skin was tight, my forehead was shiny and tight...almost like having a chemical peel or microdermabrasion. After the first week, I did think to myself "well this is very expensive product just to get clean skin, I may take this back." By the second week, my acne was completely gone and I think I went the longest I've ever gone without getting a pimple. I noticed how I could clean my face with a washcloth and then use the Mia afterwards, and I would still get makeup residue from foundation still coming off on the bristles. I began to think that maybe it was product still in my pores giving me the pimples the entire time. I get cystic acne and I have been using 65% lactic acid (makeupartistschoice.com) for about 2 yrs now which has completely helped my acne but I needed something that would help inbetween treatments. I was a bit afraid to see how my skin would act with the lactic and the Mia at the same time, so by the 3rd week, I was brave enough to try both but I didn't leave the acid on as long as I normally do. Not only does the Mia help with acne in between acid treatments but also with the dry flaky skin I get from time to time from using the acid. My face didn't purge much and I wasn't sure what to expect because I had already had a good skin care regime. I did get just a few TINY regular pimples just for the first week that went away quickly. My MIA is like a miracle to me, I truly have translucent, glowing skin for the first time since I was a kid. I do not take giving good reviews lightly, this product is a sizable investment and I'm not sure I would have sprung for it had I not had a 100 dollar gift card from Sephora but I sure am glad that I did!! Lets be honest, not every product does everything it claims to and everyone's skin is different. For me the cons: 1) I can't say that its helped with any fine lines or sun spots/freckles. 2) Also, the charger, I mean come on....my cell phone can charge my drained battery a hundred times before my Mia gets one full charge. It takes over 12 hrs to charge and I have never even let it get completely drained yet. I'd rather have some standard charger that charges fast versus a cutesy charger that is unique like this one. 3) I have tiny blackheads on my nose and in my chin fold that no one could see but me and it has not fixed them at all but I think my pores are tighter in those areas so its hard for it to get to, so thats just my experience. 4) Your investment isn't over once you buy the MIA, you have to pay for a replacement head every few months. Is it worth the cons? I believe...most definitely!! Make your own call though, these are my honest opinions. Email me if you want any other information and good luck!!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
flchick75 6/1/2010 12:08:00 PM
Love the color barcelona for covering up any dark spots on my face and evening out skin color BUT this product is way over hyped in my opinion. It doesn't make your skin glow, I have no idea where that came about. I think everyone just jumps on the "love bandwagon" along with others instead of independantly thinking half the time. This is no different than any other average foundation but the price isn't so average. But on the other hand, maybe it's just my skin. Try it for yourself!! Personally, I'll stick to my MAC studio fix Packaging: Messy and the lid never screws on tight. The product gets gunked up around the sides and in the cap. Not so pleasant.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
flchick75 6/1/2010 12:02:00 PM
Not impressed ladies, in fact I was disappointed that I paid $30 for a bottle of nice smelling water. I DO NOT have oily skin and my makeup didn't even look any different than it normally does by 5pm. I get ready for work around 8 and it looks the same with this spray as it does without. I don't touch my face, I have a desk job so I'm not out in the humidity. If it doensn't work for me, I don't know who it really would work for. I just think a bunch of UD people are writing good reviews LMAO. I gave this a try for 5 days straight and I really wished it worked but I may look into "Model in a Bottle" next. I hear that stuff is good but I'll check the reviews first as it's not cheap either...sigh....

Treatments -It's a 10 - Miracle Leave in Product
flchick75 5/26/2010 11:38:00 AM
I have highlighted fine hair (naturally curly hair that I straighten everyday) that was breaking off due to ONE bad highlighting job with a new bleach my stylist used and it was laying stick straight. I ran out and splurged on clip in extensions and I was about to start crying when I told myself to get a grip. My hair felt sooo dry and ready to break more so I ran to Hair Cuttery just to get a deep condition and my extensions cut. I decided to do this monthly in between my costly highlights that I get done at an expensive salon. Well after my deep conditioning the girl recommended this product to me. I thought, "yeah right just another overhyped new product someone is touting." It wasn't cheap but you know how we girls get when we're feeling desperate. Well let me just say, I was NOT sorry I got this stuff. I am soooo happy I did after trying so many other products that just were not making my hair soft. So I know the deep conditioner helped but its been a long time since I had that done and this product just keeps working and working for me. I am considering buying the shampoo, conditioner and mask but I have a lot of Pureology left that I will try to use up first if I can. Another good thing about this product is that it protects against heat damage. I never liked thermal protectors because of the stickiness they left in my hair. The smell isn't my favorite, it reminds me of the L'Oreal conditioner you get in the hair dyes but it doesn't smell after you walk out the door. I dont know what people are talking about when they talk about a "coating" maybe they are putting it in their hair dry instead of wet??!! I don't feel anything and it is a conditioner but I'm able to style my hair as normal and even put curl back in with an iron that stays if I want. This stuff gave my hair back the life that it needed. Now if my hair will just grow out faster, I'll be a happy camper :)

Fragrances -Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique X
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:49:00 PM
New Fragrance Debuting February 2010. Consists of Orange Blossom, Mandarine and Vanilla. Smells fresh and clean, not too strong. Reminds me a bit of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue but I didn't purchase that one because I don't really like it much, I liked this one much more. I layer it with Vanilla oil from the Body Shop as I do with all my frangrances and Vanill makes everything smell better IMO and gives me my signature scent. I love the elegant bottle (see picture added). This is my second JPG Fragrance and my favorite so far. One lippie off because the scent does not last very long. Try spraying it on clothes or hair to make it last but then you have to wash clothes more often :( "Classique X is a sensual interpretation of orange blossom and woody notes. Inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall 2009 ready-to-wear collection, the new Classique X is sophisticated, sexy and luminous. "

Concealers -Coastal Scents - Camo Quad - Medium
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:43:00 PM
After years of spending a ton of money to find the right concealer, I have found LOVE. I really, really like this quad. So good for everything, For under eyes you can make the right shade. No longer having to use a too light color for pimples because I can mix the right shade for that too. If I put bronzer on, I use a darker color and make the right shade. Good for going from Winter to Spring, to Summer, to Fall!!! I use the white mixed with the other colors to make my eyes brighter underneath. I have ordered 3 more with the 20% off discount offer I recieved just today. I like the consistancy too. Great price and GREAT STUFF!!!!! Edit: I set this with the silica powder also from CS and it makes it stay all day. Will settle into creases once but then after you wipe away it doesnt and lasts a long time.

flchick75 2/26/2010 3:40:00 PM
One of my top 10 fav eyeshadows. Good for a quick every day look. I use naked lunch on lid and phloof as a highlight and out the door, no blending required. SUPER shimmery light pink, LOVE this color...a real staple.

Highlighters -Boots - No7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:38:00 PM
I just got introduced to this product after watching pixiwoo on youtube, she's a makeup artist in the UK. I bought this product at Target and I have to say that I really like it as an all over highlighter. I put it on over my foundation and it gives a nice glow that looks natural. I also put it above blush as well and it looks pretty like that. I got the pink one and I would definitley repurchase.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:33:00 PM
I was on the hunt for another mascara since my Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara was being discontinued (all of max factor is). Well someone suggested this to me at Ulta so I bought it. It's decent but it stays kind of wet on your eyelashes and doesn't really dry as well as my Max Factor. I will be trying something else next time. The color isn't as black as I'd like either.

Foundations -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Foundation SPF 20
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:27:00 PM
Cheap lid, expensive product, too much SPF...makes me white. This is the worst product I have ever reviewed. I cannot believe I spent 45 bucks on this junk. It reaks of SPF and its sticky, the coverage is pretty lousy as well and I used two full pumps. I'll stick to my MAC Studio Fix and eventually try the NARS Sheer Glow that people seem to really love. I even got two of the most ridiculous samples to try, the "exfoliating" beads and the Cooling mask. The mask was like pure aloe feeling and looking. NO thanks Peter Thomas Roth, I cannot even believe you exist.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
flchick75 2/26/2010 3:23:00 PM
I was always searching for the perfect eyeliner to be able to make a thin continuous fluid line. With the right brush, this product was able to do exactly what I want and it lasts all day. I love this stuff will never switch to pencil again!!!!! Once you go gel, you never go back!! The only downfall is that it dries up about half way through and you deal with it til there's about 1/3 left and then you gotta toss it. Tried all the tips to help get it usable but they don't work :( I still love it enough to keep buying it though!
