Lip Treatments -Blistex - Medicated Lip Ointment
rated 4 of 5

This product is amaazzzzinnnnggggg at soothing my lips. It is an analgesic, however, so people, please don't use this as often as normal lip balm unless you must. I've always had problem with dry skin, including lips, and this works wonderfully at fixing flaky lips. For some reason, when I use regular lip balm on flaky lips it just makes them flaky and gunky. The packaging is nice because I like using my finger to apply this since I probably will use this when my lips are bleeding and flaky. I actually like the smell, but it may bother some. It smells minty and medicinal, but it's not incredibly strong. Only downside is it has some not so great ingredients, but not many. I will still use this when my lips are in terrible condition, but not too often.

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
rated 3 of 5
fishy2442 1/20/2011 1:50:00 PM

Like many people, I received a travel size of this (which I LOVE that Clinique gives so many great-sized free gifts) I have extremely sensitive skin that is dry and sometimes dry combination. This didn't irritate it at all. It is insanely concentrated, so I only need a tiny pea sized dot. After trying this for a while, I realized that it was too drying, which makes sense because it's labeled for dry combination skin and mine is dry to very dry. It actually cause me to become oily because my skin was overproducing oil to make up for the oils stripped while I used this cleanser! While this isn't the greatest for my skin type, I found that this good at removing face makeup (not eye or lip makeup) which is more than some other cleansers. This is good if you have normal to oily skin, and if you use an oil-based makeup remover because it removes that gross feeling quickly. Overall, a good cleanser for normal to oily skin, but too drying for me.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 1 of 5

Ugh! First off this mscara STINKS! Literally, it smells like vinyl or something. It really annoys me. Also it does nothing for my lashes! I've used this for a while and have found that it does little other than darken my lashes. I blame the brush, which doesn't grab my lashes well enough, and is hard to use. If it was a bit more heavy I think it would be easier, but it's too light to have good control. The shape of the whole tube also makes it annoying to use. Eye catching, but dis-functional. Only reason it got one lippie was because it held up to the waterproof claim. It does not budge if you get water on your lashes, even if you cry! Somehow though, it still flaked and smudged horribly onto my lower lid, even when I only wear it on my top lashes!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
rated 5 of 5

WOW, this is amazing!! I was a bit skeptical when people boasted of this cheap eyeshadow's pigmentation, but I needed a pigmented highlighter. This is waaaaayyy better than my Clinique eyeshadow. Also, I do think that Wet N Wild is getting to become a great, but still cheap(*cough cough* E.L.F.!) and their cream eyeliner is said to be amazing, I wanna try it! I barely swipe my finger on this, and it comes off with a velvety, creamy gorgeous color. I love this for highlighting my brow bone because shimmery colors look soooooo unnatural there.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic: Clean Definition
rated 4 of 5
fishy2442 12/18/2010 4:44:00 PM

This mascara is suppose to be very lengthening and give you definition. I am amazingly impressed with the lengthening part, it makes it so you can actually see my not so short asian lashes under my huge monolid. Idk about the definition though. While I have semi-long lashes hidden under a monolid(that isn't anymore, thanks to this mascara!) I don't have much volume. While this doesn't clump my lashes or clump at all(it's the PERFECT consistency between wet and dry) it makes my lashes look like I have less, I guess that's just because of he defining part. I love the brush, it's slender and bendable. It has the rubber bristles, but unlike most of the bristles that are rubber, these are kinda like triangular spikes that are widish at the bottom and come to a point. I find that this brush makes it very easy to coat my lashes and get even the short ones, but it isn't easy to brush through them without getting more mascara on them. I have to use a spoolie. The price is fine for a drugstore. Other than the two flaws I described, I think this mascara is great!

Blush -Clinique - Soft pressed powder blusher in Pink blush
rated 2 of 5
fishy2442 11/23/2010 9:08:00 PM

This is a nice color that complements my winter complexion nicely. It is a soft almost baby pink, but a bit warmer than that. The color would probably complement cool toned skin or neutrals in the winter. This is super blendable, but fades a bit. I love the classy Clinique packaging and the button makes the top pop slightly up so you can lift it. The brush is quite useless. It would b okay for a touch up, but it is tiny and square. L'Oreal blush brushes are better and softer! The bristles are a bit coarse. The downside is that this isn't very pigmented, ad it's quite hard to get the color onto the brush. Also $20 is a bit much but it has a nice amount of product. 0.27 oz to be exact. Also it broke me out cause of the talc ingredient. :(

Blush -Clinique - Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in Mocha Pink

I got a sample of this in a mini palette and I LOVE it! This is such a gorgeous color!! It's kind of a pinky nude. Kinda like a brownish pink color. The downside is that this isn't very pigmented. Also $20 is a bit much but it has a nice amount of product. 0.27 oz to be exact. Also, because of the talc ingredient, it broke me out, which is a shame cause it's sucha gorgeous color

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Innocent Flush
rated 4 of 5
fishy2442 11/23/2010 8:57:00 PM

This product is a great blush and a gorgeous color. I love it for summer because is complements my summer complexion so well. This is super blendable, but pigmented. It is a pale peachy pink that is completely matte. The brush it comes with is okay, and the packaging is nice except after opening and closing it the lid gets a bit loose. But not so loose that is comes open if you hold it upside down. Also I had to knock off a lippie a because this contains talc and that's not good for your skin, but it is one of the few blushes that contain talc that don't irritate my sensitive skin!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
fishy2442 9/30/2009 4:53:00 PM

This is wonderful! They are a bit overpriced at 8 USD a pop, but it's worth it! These come in a pot, which I like because if it was in any other packaging, it would be a bit hard to apply. These are JUST what they advertise. They are very moisturizing and so pretty. They had a nice sheer color. The one I have is in ripe, but it's the old kind so idk if the new kind is good. It has a very light scent that is like cotton-candy meets caramel. They aren't sticky, but they stay on for at least 2-3 hours without drinking or eating. They are thick and jelly-ish, but not sticky. I go to school so I don't really get time to reapply any lip gloss. This will last at least until 4rth period for those who also go to school. Hope this helps!

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
rated 5 of 5
fishy2442 7/31/2009 10:07:00 PM

I LOVE this cleanser. I have uber sensitive skin and have had a so called "hypoallergenic" moisturizers irritate my skin! For me, I only need about the size of a nickel to a quarter size and it works amazingly. It does not irritate my skin so wonderfully that I can even remove eye makeup without it irritating my eyes. I really like their new packaging, and I find this product removes makeup best when applied to a dry cotton pad rather than making it foamy, but as a cleanser I like to use it will those scrubbie things from Sephora. (They're also packaged with the L'Oreal 360 Clean or watever cleanser thingies.) Only bad part is it contain SLS which is not so great for sensitive skin. Somehow, it doesn't irritate mine. I use a more natural cleanser now, but this is still a great product.

Misc Beauty Tools -Gillette - venus embrace
rated 5 of 5
fishy2442 7/4/2009 2:17:00 PM

The Venus Embrace comes with the razor handle, two cartridges, and a shower pod with suction cups. I like the shower pod because it uses suction cups instead of double sided tape like the other Venus razors. You can store two extra cartridges in the shower pod. The handle has nice grippy rubber on most of the razor. The hard plastic goes through the whole razor which makes it much more sturdy than the other Venus razors. The razor has five blades which are a lot thinner to reduce space. On top of the blades, there is a strip of aloe. Below, there is a strip of rubber to help stretch your skin to get a closer shave. There is a ribbon of moisture all around the blade. The ribbon is not level with the blades so you can get a close shave. The head pivots very easily. I get very close shaves with this razor and my legs are very moisturized afterwards. I really like the fact that when they are not wet, the strip of aloe and the ribbon of moisture is dry so it doesn't stick to anything. With my old schick razor, the strip of aloe would be sticky even when dry. On the second day after you shaved, you still can't really see any hair, but you can feel very very light stubble. I love this product, but the extra cartridges are a bit expensive. But, hey, you get what you pay for. You can make them last longer though, because it isn't because you shave your hair with the razor that the razor gets so dull, it's also because of oxidation.(Rusting) So, if you just wipe the blades when you are done, you can make your razor last a lot longer!!!! Hope this review was helpful.
