Styling Products -Brocato - Shine Drops smoothing serum for hair and skin

I just got this stuff yesterday at the salon. It was $17.50, so more than I usually spend, but I was determined to find something that worked. It makes my hair softer and sleeker. My stylist used a flat iron on my hair, and it looked and felt amazing. I am too lazy to flat iron on my own though. I just used some this morning on my freshly showered hair, and it does make it soft again. It made it smooth, but not as smooth as when I left the salon. The product smells great, and even helps to detangle a little bit. I am a bit miffed though. Some of the main ingredients are the same as the Avon Mirror Shine spray that I absolutely hate. This product is a lot thicker, smells better, and does have some jojoba oil in it, which the Avon product does not. Since this is new to me, I can't say if it builds up like other silicones or not. My review is subject to change after I've used it for a few months.

This stuff smells awful. It also made my hair look oily, even though it is mostly made of synthetic slip agents. (Probably silicones.) It did nothing to improve the texture of my hair. My hair still looks and feels frizzy with this on. It just looks and smells dirty when I try to use it. It does make your hair shiny, but not in a good way, if you ask me.

The colors that come in this line are fun. I wish they had more options in gray/neutral colors. They do have a slate color, but it's rather dark. They have tons of bright colors, which are fun, but don't work with all my outfits. The petal pusher (light pink) color looks like death on me. It would work well with darker skin tones though. The polish is a little thick, but I love the fast drying formula. I hate waiting around for nail polish to dry, and I'm more likely to paint my nails when I know it won't take up hours to do it.
I had previously been using a blush/bronzer combo by Physicians Formula that looked beautiful with my skin tone. The product was wonderful, but the packaging was made out of a paper/cardboard substance, and it eventually ripped. I didn't want to risk contamination, so I set out to find a similar product in plastic packaging. I chose this product because the color looked similar. The colors were actually much more intense, and looked like clown makeup on my pale skin. I was able to make it work by using less of it, and putting it under my pressed powder, rather than on top.
This is one of the very few eye primers that you will find that has hygienic packaging. Other primers have a doe foot applicator, which just dips germs back into the product. With this type of packaging, you squeeze out fresh, clean, product every time. The product itself works well. It goes on smooth. It takes awhile to dry. If you put eyeliner on while it's wet, it just smudges and doesn't stick. I like to put the primer on first, then brush my hair or whatever while it's drying. I have a lot of problems with eye irritation, and it's nice to find products that are clean and easy to use.
I'm editing my response here... The more I use this, the more I like it. Before, I was using the wrong color, and it looked bad. Apparently "very light" is only for ghosts. I'm a redhead, and I can count on one hand the number of people I've met who are lighter than I am, but I am not "very light." The regular "light" color is perfect, and looks awesome. My local Walgreens is renovating, and the lighting in there makes all the colors look the same. I had to take it out in the daylight to get a good idea of the real color. I was hesitant at first to buy something that said "age" in the title, since I'm 29, and I'd like to think that I'm young enough that I don't need anti aging products, but if I have dark circles to cover up, maybe it's time. I would have bought this a long time ago if it didn't say it had "Oil of old lady" in it. Ok, so it says "Oil of Olay," but I think of old ladies when I hear that, and I'm not ready to think of myself as old or aging. I just get a little tired looking sometimes.
This makes a great base coat.
This went on nice and smooth and dried fast. I have it in Haze, which is gray. I get lots of compliments on it, but I stopped wearing it for awhile because it is the exact same color as my carpet cleaner.

I bought this in Crystal Calm. I wasn't sure if it was frosty or not based on the picture, but I should have guessed by the name. It's very frosty. Anyway, the polish is great. It dries fast and goes on smooth. I wish it came in more colors.

I love this color, and I get tons of compliments on it, however, every time I put it on, I manage to smudge it. I wish it dried faster, or were thinner.
I really like this product. It stays on my oily lids better than any other eyeliner I've tried so far. I like that it's a mechanical pencil, but I wish that the point were a bit sharper. I am surprised at how good the quality is for the price.

Thanks to Amalzahir for recommending Totally Twig. I'm a redhead, and I normally wouldn't choose a dark color like that, but it works well for me. I bought a couple other colors too, and I'm pleased overall. My only complaint is that they rub off onto pop cans, etc.
So far I really like this product. I had previously used Erase Paste, but I have since tried to look for something less expensive. While this isn't quite as good, it's much more cost effective, and it works well enough.
Styling Products -Alberto Vo5 - detangle and shine spray

I really liked this product when I first bought it, but I think my hormones have changed since then, and it's just not enough for my gnarly hair anymore. It's great for detangling and adding extra softness to the ends of your hair, but it's not a stand alone conditioner. I still need to use a traditional conditioner in the shower, and then I can use this in addition to that.

I previously gave this product 4 lippies, but I am now dropping it down to 2. It worked great at first, but now my hair is frizzy. I don't know if my hormones just changed, or if this stuff left a lot of buildup behind, but it's gotten replaced with a salon quality product. It does not leave my hair "sleek" or shiny. It leaves it frizzy. It does weigh down a few fly aways, but overall, it doesn't make my hair softer, or make it look more civilized.
