I really like this gloss. I was hesistant to purchase it because I thought it would look 90s stripper frosty pink, but decided to give it a try because it was on sale. It looks very frosty in the tube, but it looks wonderful on. Maybe on someone with very light lips, it would look frosty, but on me (my lips are rather pink) it makes for a very pretty, plumping pale pink glow. The formula is a little greasy (mineral oil maybe?) but it makes for a totally nonsticky consistency which is most definitely a good thing, and I like the smell, it's subtle and it smells a little like vanilla frosting or some kind of baking smell, it's a scent unique to these glosses. I would recommend this gloss, the color is a good startout for someone who's just getting into makeup or who wants a very natural lip gloss that still looks sexy.
Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips Diamond - Celeste

I noticed the Buxom glosses awhile ago in Sephora and I did try it on, and liked it, but didn't buy any. After getting a sample with an online order, though, and remembering how lovely it looked, I finally ordered a couple (after a long color selection process as there is no Sephora where I live :( ), Celeste is one of the two I picked. I LOVE it! I love these glosses, no matter what color, because of their ability to truly plump the lips. At least they seem to plump mine! I love the "juicy" big effect it has on my lips. I don't know if it actually physically plumps them, but it does look beautiful, and fills them out. I also love how it just sits there, too. It lasts a long time. I love all things mint (including gloss) and I love the vanilla-minty smell of this gloss and enjoy the cooling sensation of the gloss. Celeste is a beautiful color. It's a peachy pink color with silver glitter, when you get close enough you can see the sparkles on the lips, which some people might not like, but I like it, and they're not too large, nor do they look tacky. Many people have complained about some of these glosses being too sheer, but this is perfect for my preferences, and I don't like glosses that are too sheer either. It's a little hard to describe Celeste but it's an incredibly gorgeous color which looks great on my fair skin and reminds me of that elusive nude-type shade many famous people wear which looks effortless and gorgeous. If a certain Buxom color appeals to you, try it; no matter which color you choose, you will not be disappointed with the beautiful plumping effect!
I use this in conjunction with Retinol Rescue, which I apply a few times a week. I purchased this product with major hopes that it would alleviate my acne, which is not too bad, but still a source of annoyance and frustration for me, as I am 22 and enjoyed an acne-free existence for a while before it came back for reasons I haven't yet been able to determine. It seems to help, as long as I do not touch the pimples which do pop up and just let them ride out their cycle, they hardly call attention to themselves AND do not last nearly as long. Unfortunately it has done nothing for the stubborn blackheads on my nose that I have had for years and for which I have tried everything to get rid of. Overall, though, since a month ago when I started using this lotion, I have seen a skin improvement. My face looks soft and glowy most of the time, which is more often than it used to. I love that I only need a thin layer once a day and my quite dry skin is happy. I also love the amazing price ($12 for a huge bottle) and the fact that it is unscented, partly because perfumes can carry chemicals and partly because I live with someone with fragrance allergies. It does make my skin flaky which is annoying but I also know that it is doing its job. I enjoy being able to exfoliate and moisturize in one step. It may not have done wonders for my acne, but the tiny fine lines I had before using this product? Great results! I used to have pretty pronounced parenthetical expression lines around my mouth, and some very fine lines around my eyes, but since using this product they have all but disappeared. And I was using an organic oatmeal moisturizer before! So, I am pleased with this product, it gets 4 stars because it hasn't cleared my skin as much as I wanted it to, but it has made it better!
Concealers -American Beauty - Perfecting Concealer

This concealer is amazing. I tried it on at Kohl's because my friend and I were looking for a good concealer. I wasn't expecting it to do much as it seemed thin and not much different from other liquid concealers (and I prefer stick formulas). I layered Light underneath Light Medium, and I was surprised to see that it made me look wide awake, my dark circles were erased. The formula seems thin, but when you apply it to your skin it slows down and thickens, in a way, and it really covers. I purchased it immediately. My friend also tried it under his dark circles, he looked years younger and we also mixed two shades for his skin tone, the result matched perfectly. The colors are amazing, and it actually covers, a little goes a long way, and it lasts! I haven't had any issues with it settling into fine lines, it stays where I put it, amazingly enough. I am trying it on blemishes today, I am excited to see how well it holds up throughout the day. Wow!
This mascara has its pros and cons, but mostly pros, and I really like it overall. I didn't do any reading up on it before I bought it, so I did not know what to expect. I was very pleased with it--I also bought "The Falsies" at the same time, which is meh, especially in comparison. It's a thinner mascara than I expected, but it does lengthen and enhance the lashes. The color is a super rich and very! sexy black, and boy, does it hold curl! I curled my lashes once or twice, 9 hours later they were still curled. I was very pleased with how good it still looked after a long day. Minimal smudging and flaking as well. I give it a 4 just because it is a job to get off--which is good! because it's a waterproof mascara, it *should* be difficult to remove, but if you are very busy and don't have a lot of time to spend taking off your makeup, this may not be a good choice for you. I used cold cream and then olive oil and a facial wipe, it took forever to take off, and all my lashes were sticking together, I was afraid they were going to come out. If you need a wedding mascara, this would be an excellent choice, but the fact that it is so difficult to remove makes it less likely that I will use it every day. So, overall, it's a great product (and the packaging is very glamorous and pretty), and certainly does its job in terms of being waterproof, almost to a fault. Its staying power reminds me of why I used waterproof mascaras by default for years-why did I stop? ETA: I love this mascara but it is so difficult to take off that I don't think I can wear it every day. It held up perfectly through a long hot day, complete with pool swimming and warm temperatures. So, it does a great job, but it takes ten minutes to take off, and my lashes stick together and I am afraid I will pull my lashes out. Perfect choice for when you def. don't want your mascara to come off, but I just don't think I can wear this every day :( I will try the non-waterproof version.
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Slice of Heaven

I have mixed feelings about the formula of these glosses, but I really do like Slice of Heaven. It is a sheer cream color with some glitter and an amazing pink sheen. I don't like the stickiness of these glosses, getting my long hair caught in them is not very pleasant. However! it stays put and does not bleed, which is awesome. This color is really eye-catching and is the sort of sheer color that enlarges the lips and enhances their sexiness. I have fair skin and very pink lips and I like how it looks with my coloring, but I think it would look good on anyone. It also smells like some sort of lovely root beer vanilla cake and tastes even better. If they were cheaper I would try many more of them.
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Mocktail Hour
fatkittykitty 7/15/2010 12:33:00 AM
I have mixed feelings about this gloss, but I do really enjoy it overall. Mocktail Hour is a very sheer, somewhat coppery nude color with lots of glitter. I love the glitter, but it's a little too sheer for my liking, I like my glosses to have color and don't really like the look of clear gloss. It isn't completely clear though. I don't like how sticky it is, getting my hair caught in it is a drag. However! it stays put and does not bleed, which is awesome. The smell is difficult to place, it's very fruity and candy-like. I enjoy this gloss despite its lack of strong color and stickiness. The color and glitter are absolutely gorgeous.
