Mascara -Essence - get big lashes volume boost mascara
farmy 4/14/2013 9:14:00 AM
I love this mascara. I purchased the waterproof version as a challenge to find decent beauty products in Australia under $5 and not only was I completely blown away by the quality of the product but it's become my every day mascara. It cost $4.95 and honestly it is hands down the best mascara I've ever used. It dosen't clump, flake or smudge. It holds a curl in your lashes beautifully and there is no bleeding later in the day that gets in your eyes. I use make up wipes to remove it and there's no residue. Will I purchase again. ABSOLOUTLY.

Powder -Australis - Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder
farmy 4/14/2013 9:08:00 AM
I picked this up to try after seeing UPMTEEN Aussie beauty youtube guru's go on and on and on about this powder. It's SOOO worth the hype. I have oily skin that's really prone to break outs and if I layer this with my Nude BB cream my skin feels so touchable and soft. Not powdery or cakey. Very Very very worth it.

Shampoo -Garnier - Shampoo for Oily Roots and Dry Ends
farmy 12/1/2012 2:27:00 AM
I've bounced between this shampoo and others for a while and I do keep coming back to this one. Pros: The smell is so yummy (always a plus for me) and the product is actually quite light in texture. One tip I did pick up from my hairdress was to only use a small amount and wash the scalp only not the ends. Cons: I do try to swap this out with other shampoos to keep my hair routine fresh and while this shampoo does do a great job I've found that you really do need to have a good conditioner to keep your hair healthy.

Masks -Formula 10.0.6 - No Time To Shine
farmy 12/1/2012 2:17:00 AM
I purchased this in a couple of the sample sizes as I was going away for a couple of weeks for work and wanted something travel sized. I've used the Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox before and am pretty familiar with this brand. Pros: The smell isn't bad at all. Not overpowering but I can't really put my finger on what it smells like. The product itself is a really nice consistancy so will smooth on your skin with ease. I didn't find that this product stung my skin but if you have sensitive skin I can see that it may. Cons: Like with some of their other masks it really is just a basic mask and though my skin felt lovely afterwards and looked clean I didn't notice any miraculous difference to how oily my skin was. I would suggest like with the other Formula 10.0.6 masks that these would be a really really good basic 'CHEAP' mask for those that want to add to their skin care routine without spending HEAPS on their masks would be good for teenager girls or college girls.

Masks -Formula 10.0.6 - Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask
farmy 12/1/2012 2:10:00 AM
I purchased a couple of the sample size sachets as I was going away for a couple of weeks. I've used the Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox mask before and have been pretty happy with the results of that one so I thought I'd give some of their other products a try. Pros: The smell is lovely, smells like berries, so this is a big plus for me. The product goes on quite smoothly and can be evened out on your skin with little effort. I didn't have any of the stinging on my face that others have had. You really do only need a small dollip of this as a little goes a long way. Probably the size of a small lolly gum ball. This should be enought to do your face and neck. Cons: It feels like its really any other mask. My skin did feel cleaner however I didn't think that it made that much difference to my pores. That being said I think that this is a good 'CHEAP' alternative for those that want a regular mask to maintain their skin without forking out for the more expensive brands.

Masks -Dermalogica - MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque
farmy 11/29/2012 9:17:00 AM
I got this as part of a Lust Have It beauty subscription (Australia). Pros: The product smells divine even though it looks like light apricot goop. A small amount is needed to spread across your face and just wait and let the product do it's magic. I use this probably 2 to 3 times a week to top up my usual skin care routine and my skin looks and feels fantastic. Cons: The product does look a bit orange/fake tan on your skin but this does wash off.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Designer Chocolates Quad
farmy 10/5/2012 9:41:00 AM
We've all been there girls, it's Friday night your going out for drinks after work. You head to the bathroom to touch up your make up and there it is.....you've left your eyeshadow at home.....what are you to do. Duck to the nearest drugstore/chemist for a quick cheapie to do the job. AND thus I purchased the Maybelline Designer Chocolates Quad. It had the colours that I needed and it was under $15 (cheap for Austalia). Pros: The quad will do the job, each colour is marked with it's 'job' liner, crease etc. I used these accordingly and got the desired effect and it stayed in place for a couple of hours. The colour combo is a great selection, neutral and natural. Cons: The pigment in these shadows is not the greatest. You have to work with a very very very heavy hand to see any real result on your eyes. When I swatched these for the photo above I really had to rub my fingers into the powder to get any product on my fingers. That being said, I think that this would be a great pallette for a young girl just starting to wear makeup. Not to hard to use and you can't make any REAL mistakes with it. Oh I ditched the crappy brushes though and used my own. WHICH I REMEMBERED BUT NOT MY EYESHADOW....... :-(

Foundations -Chanel - Lift Lumiere Fluid
farmy 10/1/2012 9:34:00 AM
I'm in two minds about this foundation. I got given a sample to try along with every other chanel foundation (awesome SA). I prefer a lighter coverage foundation that breaths with my skin and isn't too high maintenance. But I gave this a try with an open mind. Pros: Smells great (actually all of Chanel's foundations smell great) not overpowering. The texture is really lovely and smooth and it goes on nicely. I used a wet sponge to apply this and applied it very lightly as I'm aware that this foundation is a medium to heavy coverage. It sat really nicely on my skin and absorbed well and after a couple of hours there was NO SHINE. Amazing considering that every other foundation will shine considering I have oily skin. Cons: It's a heavier foundation so if you want ligh you need to apply it sparingly. I MAY purchase this.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
farmy 10/1/2012 8:15:00 AM
Again this was one of the samples that the brilliant SA at Chanel gave me to try. I got this one in Beige 40. Pros: The product smells lovely, not chemical or over perfumed. It goes on nicely and sits on your skin nicely. Coverage is okay. Cons: This is probably a heavier foundation than I like I would describe it as being a medium coverage not heavy but you could layer it if you wanted. I probably wouldn't buy this one but that's because I want a lighter colour.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
farmy 10/1/2012 8:00:00 AM
I got given a sample of this to try as well as a stack of all the other Chanel foundations (YAY). I got given B30 (beige) and B40 (beige) So far I've only tried the B30 and I have to admit that I really really like it. Pros: The smell is really lovely. The sample is only a little bit of the product but I found it went on my skin really well and was light when first applied. As the day wore on I could barely feel it but my skin felt amazing. Cons: Use with a light hand. I found that like most other foundations I've used I had to really really stay on top of shine. Yes I had to touch up and blot with powder during the day. I have oily skin this is my cross to bear. I would purchase this but only after trying the others and seeing if they suit.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
farmy 10/1/2012 7:51:00 AM
I'll start this review with the fact that I purchased the Garnier BB Cream in light/clair when CLEARLY (evident after my first useage) I should have purchased medium even after colour matching it with the foundation that I use telling me that I should buy it in light. Pros: Product smells okay not overpowering or strong but a slight light fragrance. The packaging is really good will only let a certain amount of product out which I like. Cons: The product it's self besides being REALLY REALLY REALLY light, is very runny. I found that it slid and I mean slid around my face. Oh a little goes a long way as well I would recommend using an amount smaller than a 5c piece (Australian) and then go from there. I won't be purchasing this again, I found that after putting it on my skin apart from looking like a ghost I had to take every last bit of it off. It would be great for those looking for a tinted everyday moisturiser.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes Night Calming
farmy 9/29/2012 10:08:00 AM
My quest for make up removing wipes continues. I purchased these as I figured I couldn't go wrong with Neutrogena. Pros: The smell is actually pretty nice, very calming. Cons: These wipes take way to many wipes to get the make up off. My previous make up wipes a no name brand from Coles which are way cheaper get off a full face of make up off with only one wipe. These you need at least 4 wipes with not even heavy makeup. There's also too much product on the wipe as your skin feels slimy and filmy afterwards. Sorry neutrogena your sunscreens are awesome but I won't buy your wipes again.

Polishes -Essie - Your Hut or Mine
farmy 4/27/2012 8:15:00 AM
I picked a mini version of this one up with Lion Around and I'm pretty impressed. I can't wear nail colours on my hands other than nude or clear when I'm at work so my toes usually get the crazy colours. I'm not THAT much of a pink girl so I tried this one with a bit of trepidation. Pros: The colour is actually quite nice and while in the bottle it looks like a deep pink with subtle flecks of hot pink shimmer through the polish, it actually goes on quite a rosey kind of pink. Cons: As with Lion around the formula is quite thick so you need to be steady with your handy work. I like it and would use it again.

Polishes -Essie - Lion Around
farmy 4/27/2012 8:08:00 AM
I picked a mini bottle of this up as I've been on the search for a nude/lite pink nail polish for work. Firstly, I'm not the best at putting nail polish on but I'm getting better. Pros: The coloure is beautiful, a very pale pink with a pearly kind of sheen in it that goes on like a dream. The formula is thicker than other polishes that I've used so you need to be quite steady with your strokes. I found that 2 - 3 coats are about perfect for this and I don't need to touch up every second day. Cons: The formula is quite thick and you do need to be steady with your handy work. Other than that great neutral colour for those of us that work in conservative environments where you need to blend into the wallpaper.
