Nails -Essie - Lapiz Of Luxury
facetious 11/10/2012 12:13:00 PM
Periwinkle blue is good description. A bit confusing to me because an image search of this color could lead you to believe that it would be bluer and brighter than it actually is. Unless there's a difference between Lapis and Lapiz but I digress. Lapiz is a good color and I can't imagine a skintone that wouldn't look good with it. When I first bought this, the formula was watery and it was difficult to apply evenly. After a year, it thickened so it doesn't streak as much. It still takes a good 5 coats for the color to be opaque. The color faded a bit and the formula separates too easily, I have to shake it every few minutes whenever I'm painting with this color.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Lemon Drop SPF 15

The balm is very waxy and drying. The Lemon smells nicer than its Summerfruit counterpart, until you apply it and then it smells really rancid.

The scent kind of reminds me of candy. The packing is cute but it gets awkward to apply once you flatten the ball. Unfortunately, this balm is way too waxy and drying for my lips.

Polishes -Essie - Turquoise & Caicos (Resort 2010)
facetious 3/18/2012 1:37:00 AM
I have to agree that the color is great but applying it is a pain in the butt. Also after a couple of months of having it, my bottle changed bright aqua to a muted mint green. I noticed that my creme Essie polishes tend to change color on me after a couple of months.

Polishes -L'Oreal - Waters Edge
facetious 1/22/2012 8:04:00 PM
Found this at Ocean State Job Lots for 2 bucks. Maybe the formula gets better with age but Waters Edge wasn't that thick as others had experienced. It applied thinly, a little too thinly, it took 3 coats for it be to be opaque.

Really pretty pale lilac color but it needed 3 coats to be opaque because the formula was so thin. Then after a couple of months, the polish turned into blue! Did I get a bad bottle? I'll look for another one and see if the same thing happens to it.

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Vanilla Lip Balm SPF20
facetious 2/11/2011 11:46:00 AM
The scent is nice. It's light on the lips, packaging is cute but it's easy to lose. I have terrible dry, flaky lips and I use this stuff prior to exfoliating my lips since it loosens dry skin pretty nicely. Tried using this on a regular basis but the Menthol started to irritate my lips. I'll stick to using this as prep for exfoliating or slap it on to relieve chapped lips.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
facetious 12/24/2010 3:03:00 AM
Pomegranates are tasty but I never did like the smell of them so I don't know what possessed me to buy this. It didn't make any miracles but works okay on my lips and the red tint isn't that special but it doesn't have to be. I'd buy this again but I really can't get past the smell.

Polishes -Hard Candy - Sky
facetious 11/14/2010 2:13:00 PM
Never had the original Sky so I don't know how it would compare. Wall-Mart's LE Sky is a faded sky blue with blue iridescence but it applies as a faded sky blue creme. Really faded, it almost looks like white out. I haven't been able to bring out the blue iridescence. Maybe Hard Candy's other creme polish Frenzy gave me high expectations but this was kind of disappointing. The formula was really thin which was nice but it was very sheer and streaky. It took 5 coats for Sky to be opaque, less if I just piled the stuff on. It lasted pretty nicely. I wish I hadn't paid as much as I did for this because I probably won't be using this as much but I don't regret buying it because it looks really pretty in the bottle. Yes, I'm one of those freaks who'll waste money on nail polish and just look at the bottle. Edit- Tried wearing this as a sheer, jelly-esque type of polish with only 2 coats, didn't work all that well but only because I have deep ridges on my nails and my skin color doesn't play nicely with sheer faded sky blue. I think I'll stick to using a white base underneath.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear - Invisible
facetious 9/22/2010 9:39:00 AM
Bought on a whim, it's supposed to be just a clear polish but it's a nice top coat and base coat(Well I've been just using this for Hard Candy Frenzy so I won't have blue fingernails.) Makes my nails shiny and chip free, couldn't ask for more. I have some trouble with applying it though but that could just be me not getting the fact that I can pile this stuff on and it will still dry down to a nice thin layer and I don't have to wipe off excess off the brush because it just dries into a goopy mess before it touches my nail if there isn't enough on the bristles.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Mint Dream
facetious 9/22/2010 9:16:00 AM
Sheer iridescent pearl with a green sheen. It's an awesome polish for layering. I've been layering this over darker colors such as Hard Candy Frenzy and NYC Skintight Denim Creme but I think my favorite way to use this is over lighter colors such as Sally Hansen's Peachy Keen so that the green sheen shows up in the right lighting and angle of my nails. Usually with Pure Ice polishes the formula turns goopy after a while but I'm almost done with this bottle and the formula is still nice and manageable.

I'm a sucker for blue nail polishes and being only 2 dollars, this polish was calling for me. Light blue with purple-y undertone and silver flecks. Soo pretty and doesn't make my stubby and tiny nails look so stubby and small. :3 It's quite sheer and I needed 3 coats. By itself, it became dull after a couple of days but a good top coat prevents that. Removal was a bit of a pain because of the glitter but that's okay because of the cheap price and lovely color.

Polishes -Hard Candy - Frenzy
facetious 6/22/2010 1:32:00 PM
Okay so a coat of Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Invisible protects my nails from getting stained blue. This color is really pretty, it's like a dark aqua creme. It's fun to layer over and I can get away with only one coat of this because of how crazy pigmented this is. Formula is pretty nice to work with and lasts on my nails for quite a bit. I don't like applying base coats(I'm lazy) but for the awesome color and loads of fun I have layering over it, I'm willing to forgive that. I have a hate/love relationship with the brush, it's really small and it's nice when you apply polish on the sides of your nail but you have to pile it on, otherwise the polish on the brush dries too fast and applies all goopy on the nail.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Beige Blast
facetious 3/9/2010 1:49:00 PM
When I first brought this, the formula was kind of thin. The first coat dried quickly and is barely pigmented. The second layer is uneven and despite the name, it took a whole hour for it dry. The third evened out the color some but it was really tacky on my nails for the rest of the day. Also using this for a month, the formula dried out and became really thick and goopy. It's not even worth it to revive with nail polish thinner. Ugh never again.

Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
facetious 2/6/2010 1:35:00 AM
I brought this last year and tried very hard to love it. This is a really dry and cakey formula and even when I apply the lightest amount of this and moisturize my face it still cakes up my skin. Also this concealer is meant for someone with a much lighter skin tone then me. I tried applying this before and after I applied foundation and it still looks ashy on me. I haven't touched the powder because I'm not crazy about the sparkles in it.
