Bronzers -L'Oreal - Bronzer Body Tinted Gel (One day)
f33xc0re 5/26/2012 10:49:00 PM
This product was a serious disappointment. The idea is awesome- a gel you can smear on to make yourself tan until your next shower. I'm not sure if it's my pale, olive skin tone, but it went on reddish- More like a burn than a tan! It stuck much better to the palms of my hands than my body! If you sweat, or it rains, or you touch something wet, it will come off, possible onto your clothes. On the positive, is has a faint pleasant smell, and so long as you rub it on evenly before it dries, you won't streak. I do NOT recommend this.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gioia EDP
f33xc0re 1/28/2012 6:53:00 PM
Acqua di Gioia is a fresh, energetic, uplifting fragrance. I definitely recommend watching the commercial- It goes along with it very well and, at least in my case, it allows me to picture myself in that jungle scene every time I use it.

Fragrances -Demeter - Honeysuckle
f33xc0re 11/19/2011 9:10:00 AM
When I tried out this fragrance, I really liked the scent- while not as delicate as a real honeysuckle, it was very pleasant. It reminds me a little of jasmine (one of my favorite smells). But, on the downside (and a pretty large one at that), it does not last HALF as long as one would expect, and only slightly longer than a body splash. It's a nice freshener, maybe one you would keep in your purse just in case. However, it is definitely not an every day perfume unless you'd like to reapply it over and over.

Fragrances -Pacifica - Tahitian Gardenia Perfume

While shopping around, I found the candle version of this scent, and I absolutely fell in love with it. When I saw that there was a perfume with the same scent, I just had to have it. I did the sniff test on the spray, the roll-on, and the solid. The scent of the solid perfume just wasn't as nice as the others, I think. It was a little less fresh and floral and a little more unpleasantly old smelling. The roll-on would be great if you have a small purse and want to "touch up" in the middle of the day. I, however, chose the spray. When I first sprayed it, I was a bit disappointed- It just didn't smell very good. BUT, a little while later, the alcohol had evaporated and the gorgeous smell from the candle came back out. I was pleasantly surprised at the longevity of the scent. It may be good to reapply it about once in the middle of the day, but other than that you're good to go! As with every perfume, go ahead and try the tester before making your decision. Good luck! :] EDIT: I'm smell bipolar! I no longer am a fan. It comes on way too strong, and smells a bit toxic. It also gave me eczema (if you don't have skin allergies don't worry though)!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
f33xc0re 11/11/2011 5:01:00 PM
In the winter, my hands can get so dry that they hurt, flake, wrinkle, and get discolored. I've tried regular lotions, oils, salves, and while my hands picked up a little of the much needed moisture, my problem persisted. After finding that this best selling body shop product was regarded so highly by so many review sites, I went out and bought it (not too cheap). Upon first smell, I wasn't sure what to think. It smells very much like a grassy hay field. I wasn't drawn to it at first, but I've grown to like the scent! It's so natural. When I put it on, it has an almost melting quality. I use it on my hands and lips, and am SO happy about my purchase! My extremely dry hands are MUCH improved.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Homemade Sugar Wax
f33xc0re 8/23/2011 9:35:00 AM
For years I used waxes to remove my facial hair (which is on the longer side of fuzz) and almost every time I would RIP OFF a layer of my super-sensitive skin! I'm talking about a first degree burn. And yet every time, once it was long healed, I got the notion to try it again. "Well, maybe if I don't press it on hard it won't.... Maybe if I use powder beforehand it won't remove my skin." Well needless to say these thoughts were brought to nothing. I tried threading, and even shaving, and nothing gave me the results I wanted. Then, I found a recipe for sugaring online. It claimed that the sugar will only adhere to dead tissue, not living. So I gave it a try. Like many people, I cooked it for too long the first time, and tried another batch. The second time worked. I did 7 areas, six of which went fine but the last ripped off some skin (this was because I let the mixture harden too much, which is easily fixable). The longer hairs were removed (which is really all that's necessary). Overall, I will definitely try this again.

Cleansers -Clearasil - Skin Clearing Gel Wash
f33xc0re 8/13/2011 6:08:00 PM
No wonder I found this product at a discount store! They should pay you to use it. What a waste. First of all, they hide the ingredients on the back, and for a reason. They read: Water, sodium laureth sulphate, et cetera! SLS is rated a two out of five in irritation, and three out of five in comedone forming potential! Not good. I would never use something so cheap on my face, but I decided to give it a go on my back. Well, sure enough, within a week, I had a huge breakout of deep, red pimples on my lower back. Don't waste time even considering it!

Lip Treatments -Neosporin - Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy Suncreen SPF 20
f33xc0re 2/6/2011 9:58:00 AM
I am raving about this product- It works FANTASTICALLY. As cold weather kicked in a few months ago, I've been getting extremely dry, flaky, raw, slightly discolored, and even sometimes bleeding lips. Though I temporarily lessened the problem with lip balms like nivea, this SOLVED them. As you may know, the more you apply lip balm, the more you need it. It seemed like if I didn't use it for a few hours, my lips would start to become rough. In the hopes of breaking off this "addiction," I stopped using lip balms altogether. This was a bad choice. My lips became in worse condition than ever. I eventually gave in to using lip moisturizers, but this time I did research, and found that one cannot build up a tolerance to Neosporin's daily hydration therapy. Though it cost six dollars at Duane Reade, it's worth its weight in gold. I would pay much more than what I did to get the same product. I will never switch back. My lips are smooth, evenly colored, and soft, PLUS they are protected with 20 spf. The consistency is fabulous- Somewhere between lip gloss and lip balm, and slightly whitish (but when you rub your lips together, it's unnoticeable). It goes on smoothly, and stays there for a good many hours (maybe a bit longer than most lip moisturizers). I use it at night, as well, but I will be trying their night-time version in the near future. I hope this is never discontinued!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish
f33xc0re 1/16/2011 10:48:00 AM
This is truly a great line of nail polish. In my opinion, even OPI cannot live up to the staying power of Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish. I am giving it overall five stars, but there are some cons.... I'll run them down here: Pros: - The longest lasting nail polish I've ever used! - The wide, shaped brush makes application super easy. - Dries somewhat faster than most other nail polishes I've tried. Cons: - Depending on the color you choose, it's not very pigmented. You really do need two coats. - The finish is not too shiny, you should use a top coat with it. - It's on the more expensive side. There you go! If you have a problem with chipping within a couple of days, go out and try this! You'll be amazed. I'm wearing it at this very moment (In the color "nude now.")!

Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
f33xc0re 1/16/2011 10:40:00 AM
I have been searching and searching for a cleanser like this! I've tried almost everything on my sensitive but acne prone skin and really nothing works like this does- I had the impression that using anything but a mild scrub every morning and night would stave off peeling, but once I switched to this, I realized I was completely wrong. My skin does not flake any more than with the scrub. This is by far the best cleanser I could ever recommend to anyone with sensitive skin. It does not irritate your skin at all, but thoroughly gets off all the oil and dirt. I would say, with wet hands, you only need about half a pump to clean your face. If you just cannot find a cleanser you can rely on not to break you out, make the change! And don't forget to follow it up with a good moisturizer.

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss of Milk and Honey
f33xc0re 12/8/2010 8:37:00 PM
I find the consistency and results of this lip balm amazing, but I'm not keen on the scent. It looks like many people love the smell, but it's not for me. Outside of that, however, I would give it 5 stars. It goes on smoothly and relieves dry lips, just like the essential care (which I personally prefer because it doesn't have a strong scent!).

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss of Recovery SPF 6
f33xc0re 12/8/2010 8:30:00 PM
This is absolutely my favorite lip balm that I've ever tried! It's very smooth, and will apply easily even when it's really cold out! The packaging is great- It doesn't form that irritating hole in the middle. The smell and taste are very subtle but pleasant, which is what I like in a lip balm, and why I prefer Nivea over Chapstick! I also like it slightly more than the essential care, because it is more moisturizing and it has a higher SPF. Go out and try it, you can't go wrong!

Lip Liners -Jordana - Easyliner for Lips in Rock n' Rose
f33xc0re 10/16/2010 4:02:00 PM
The moment I put this on I fell in love with it! The color is beautiful, especially on my skin tone (which is olive, but pale). I get many compliments on it, even referring to how it makes my skin look glowing. Application is a breeze- It goes on smoothly and is forgiving. It also lasts fairly well. I use it both to line and fill my lips.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
f33xc0re 10/11/2010 11:00:00 AM
This product has been a bit of a disappointment for me. I read the great reviews and was expecting a real improvement in my stress-related acne. It certainly was not cheap, but if it worked it would have been worth it. The first thing I noticed when I put it on my face in the shower was that it stung! Now, to be fair, I have sensitive skin. The burning sensation never completely went away, but after a few weeks of using this stress control scrub, it became less bothersome. One good thing about this product is that my skin required no adjustment time or initial breakouts. However, it did absolutely nothing positive, either. As far as cleansing power goes, it does the job, and makes my skin softer and smoother, but that's not what I want to be paying eight or nine dollars for. It did leave my face feeling fresh, though, and the scent was fairly nice (like cucumber, but a little more chemically).

Hair Color -Amphigory - Special Effects in Deep Purple
f33xc0re 9/15/2010 6:12:00 PM
I am giving this product a 5 because I absolutely LOVE what it did to my hair (let's just not mention the bathtub or my body!). The color is GORGEOUS..... A deep non-reddish purple (a lot of purple dyes are on the red side). Special Effects is widely known for its vibrant long lasting colors, and so far the reviews have been proven 100% right, it's like no other! I've been looking for a purple hair dye that will actually dye my dark brown hair, and last more than a wash or two... Well have I found it, and I'll never switch! The color faded gradually over a period of a few weeks. It became a lovely lighter purple before the brown came through. I also noticed that while I was dying my hair, there is a green iridescent shimmer to the dye (don't worry, just the dye) when it is dry. NOW, as far as "side effects" of using the dye- ONLY from rinsing my hair out in shower, my whole back, face, hands, and oddly enough, finger and toe nails were dyed purple.... And even though I scrubbed a lot of it off (and nail polish remover did the trick on my nails), the next few washings just restained my skin! This was no matter of vaseline or not! ALSO there were a couple drops on the wall which stained, and my bathtub and shower curtain were dyed light purple. With bleach I managed to get it off the bathtub but WOW this dye is potent. It also made my back break out with acne, and I got eczema on my neck (but I'm prone to both). HOWEVER, overall, it was very much worth it and next time I will take appropriate cautions!
